A few months before the Kinks had their big breakthrough with this song in 1964 they played the Cavern Club for the first time. Their name is even painted on the stage back “wall”. We loved playing this beautifully rough, messy early British Rock ‘n’ Roll staple. That’s the kind of songs that are the most fun to play in crowded, intimate, small places like the Cavern Club.

Having seen The Kinks perform this smash hit live,I can truthfully say The Mona Lisa Twins match the Davies siblings note for note! And pulling off Dave's manic lead break is no easy feat, but Mona NAILED it!!! God Save The Kinks

Check out The Tvins covers of "Tired of Waiting" and "Lola" also They positively replicate The Kinks crunchy chords ! and glorious vocals, like Muswell Hillbilly girls!
the kinks are good songwriters for making this, but their version isn't very good. the van halen version is the best one imo, this ones pretty great too.

Not only your version is authentic and gives The Kinks run for their money, but you also put some driving power without losing the beauty of the song so I would like to give my sincere congratulations to all the hard works you ladies have put in and it shows.
It's the greatest song of the early English rock! I adore it from my very young age. The Kinks forever!
Wow! Mona blew the roof off with those lead vocals. The range of the Twins, from “Here, There, and Everywhere” to this is just incredible. It reminds me of another band of four lads from Liverpool who also cut their teeth at the Cavern many years ago.
Charlie Skeggs is so good. The whole band is just so tight.

Great live version with lots of energy. Mona goes for it with a loud vocal while Lisa nails the famous groove.
When you listen to the CD without the visuals you realize just how good Lisa is on that "bad a$$" Gretsch and Mona is such a rocker when she wants to be.
@@timtv2826 I had an offer recently to get their 'Cavern Club' and 'Orange ' albums for 1/2 price. What do you think? Good deal? I think the Cavern Club full concert album would be fantastic!
Let's allow ourselves to have a slight morality deviation here, both gorgeous ladies are very talented and can perform in multiple ways, but I do think that Lisa is more of a 'slow rocker,' while Mona might be more inclined to 'Go like a bat outta hell'
@@johnzuijdveld9585 I would definitely buy them. The Cavern Club album has 2 CDs with 28 tracks of great 60's rock n roll. Most are fantastic covers of Beatles, Kinks, The Who and more with a few originals from their 1st album that you can easily mistake as 60s covers. There is quite a few videos on TH-cam from this album as well as Orange. I'd check them out if your unsure. I have no problem buying their albums at full price right from their website. They often have sales and bundles at discount prices. As an independent band that does everything themselves all of the money goes to the Twins to help make new music and videos. If you really like their music take the time to check out their website. You won't be disappointed.

Utterly amazing - this version really nailed it and no mistake - I can't believe that I live within 50 miles of Liverpool (and was many years ago shown round the "new" cavern by a music shop owner in Liverpool when I was buying my new Ovation from him), and had no idea that such talent was there for the taking - indeed, until TH-cam, I had never heard of these twins, let alone realised how good they are - now rectified, as I own all of their albums. I've also read some of the reviews and comments on their website, and can't believe the distinguished performers who have offered their contributions.

This song is always like your hearing it for the 1st time, it’s such a classic. Such a great cover with the rocking guitars in the middle.

The band was on fire that night. Mona’s voice rocks and Lisa’s playing is right on. We are so lucky that this show was recorded.
This cut sounds awesome on the CD, but watching the band perform gives it eleven times the energy. Lisa’s GoPro captures some great moments. These chicks rock!

These Cavern Videos are some of the best productions I’ve seen. Congratulations to the road crew, camera operators, sound engineers, lighting, transportation and catering. They all deserve recognition for their contributions to this night. 😉

I have fond memories of the cavern when I went to the Beatle's festival years ago. I am 64 now and not great on my legs and in a nursing home. If the twins would pick me up I would love to see them in concert!!🏴🤩🏴🎸😁🎼😃🤭

@@Coolwave80 MonaLisa Twins "Live at the Cavern Club". 28 fantastic songs on 2 discs. 60s and 70s covers and a few originals that sound just as good as the covers. Really great sound quality and album design all done by the Twins and their family. I have the actual CDs been playing in my car since October. It's one of the best live albums I've ever heard and I'm an old fart.

I was sent an opportunity to get this and 'Orange' at a discounted price but left it because I really don't know what CD's and Vinals are selling for these days, I'm probably an older old fart! i certainly feel it! 🤣
@@johnzuijdveld9585 I was 4 when I seen the Beatles played on The Ed Sullivan Show and 63 when I seen the MonaLisa Twins play on You Tube and yes they are prettier than Ringo or even George. Lol. I love their Live at the Cavern Club cd and Orange also. There are quite a few of the Orange songs on TH-cam and maybe my favorite cd of their originals. I have seen a few of their cds on Ebay but I will always buy them directly from their website. The shipping may cost a little more depending on where you are located but I would rather support them than someone trying to make a buck reselling their cds. Love the lead vocal--really creative slight variations in the inflection of the lyrics adds a great "conversational" aspect to the song that emphasizes a slightly different feel to each phrase compared to the original. Especially impressive as English is not her native language. Great, great job all around. You guys are good.
