Recorded at the Cavern Club in Mathew Street, Liverpool during our 100th and last residency show in 2016.

We love this hauntingly beautiful Rolling Stones track!
A few years prior to this performance we had already recorded an acoustic version of it ( • Paint It Black - MonaL... ) but we loved adapting it back to a full-band track for our live shows.

Their July 2015 video is what led me to discover MLT. It made such an impact that I remember that. Can't say any other band had that influence! These live performances from the Cavern Club are so awesome. Hope to see them live someday. 🙂

Drums are an important part of this song (as they are in most songs but this one especially) this drummer nailed it perfectly.
This whole Cavern Club show is fantastic. A big thank you for recording this show and major props to Papa Rudi for the excellent sound recording. The whole band is in fine form on all the tracks, so much energy and talent.
Such great energy and the harmonies are as stunning as ever! Perfectly executed guitars, too! Love the whole thing but the ending vocalizations are OUTSTANDING!

Nicely done! This is just about the only Stones song I can tolerate, and it's so much better without Jagger's vocal. The vocal arrangement and harmonies here work very well.

copied this from an earlier post: he cavern club... Me mum went to nurses training at Alder Hey Children's in Liverpool. They used to go to the cavern all the time, you could get cappuccino or coffee for 10 pence (in a cheap plastic cup), and you did not have to get refills. Apparently she saw the beatles many times. She (and all of her fellow nursing students felt they looked like "they had been dragged through a bush backwards" and needed a haircut" Well this story amused and amazed me, I hope others enjoy it.

Love this song, Back in early 1967, we were recording this on our LP and I was Rhythm player. Our Drummer quit just before we were going to lay down this song as the last cut on the LP. So I had to play Drums then come back and lay down the Rhythm while everyone else did their part. Not an easy song to get the Drum sound perfect. Sorry, but I have to say that it was better than your Drummer. LOL Just Kidding!!!!

When I hear this song I can't help but visualise the video of the napalm bombing of Vietnamese villages. Bloody awful. It doesn't get much blacker than that. And that's "black" in the sense of depressing.
I wonder how an American RnR band from the 60s was inspired to write this music.

That's not the problem really, I just wonder why it wasn't shown until now, or have you just re-released it?

There's something intangible that draws me to these Cavern Club MLT vids. I'm beginning to believe it's the joy you couldn't hide as you performed live there. It's especially evident in the closups of Mona at the mic with her eyes closed, feeling the music you're both creating.
Yeah, I feel it too-obviously it's one of most important Beatles shrines, if not THE most important one. The Cavern is still living and breathing with the Twins rocking it up live and "propah"! I still get a major giddy buzz everytime l see them do "Drive My Car" from there!
