So pretty! You guys did such a great job!! FYI...you can paint your old carpet! Seriously, I painted mine. Color Shots Outdoor. Just use a shade darker than your existing carpet color. I did three coats, it takes about 7-10 days to thoroughly dry, then just vacumn. No, it's not crunchy that's why you have to use the Color Shots fabric paint. 😀

I love the way you called the bedroom "the master suite"! Talk about positive thinking! Great job. You were so wise to NOT tackle the bathroom. We have renovated an old Winnebago, and the shower was a nightmare. The more we did, the worse it got, and my hubby is very handyman.
When you're living in a car you have to make everything sound fancier than it is. I'm sharing your shower story with Fin. The shower was definitely something that we had quite the debate on. Paint the sink with 2 part apoxy paint - you would never know it isn't a white sink...or black...or whatever color you go with. You can also spraypaint the fixtures or old brass stuff. Love the redo though - the place looks amazing!!! Reach out when you want to sell it...
Hey Liz! Thanks for tips. We had so much stuff that we wanted to finish while on the road from a remodel standpoint. The reality is that we're constantly working just to keep this thing driving down the road! Just today the waterpump started dripping so its a new thing on this list to do!
Our secret is look at what other people are doing and copy it! We've even told Modern Mountain Life that we were HEAVILY influenced by their beautiful RV.
You did such a great job! The kitchen, the living room, the bedroom, everything looks amazing! My favorite part would have to be the kitchen countertop. It's so pretty! Love that you put your money towards those things that really matter and left what's not as important the way it was :)
The kitchen countertop has held out way better than it has any right to based on the fact we just painted it. We've been beating on it for three months now and it's still held up. There are certain details we're glad we splurged on (nice pull down shades for example). Its very....livable?
I still can't believe it's just painted! It's unreal that it's holding up so well! Totally! If I wouldn't know that this is an RV tour I'd think it's a tiny, neatly put together, apartment! :D

Thank you so much. We are in the middle of remodeling out travel trailer and I love the idea of the curtain on the hooks. So solves my problem for what to do with that door. We took out 2 heavy sliding doors and now I don't have to look for a curtain rod and make curtains. Great job. I did paint all the walls, but not the cabinets. Too much work right now, since we are redoing all the floors. Ripping out carpet and laying new click vinyl planks that look like reclaimed wood.
I enjoyed your video. I bought an RV to live in during a journey I will be taking next fall and I hadn’t considered recording the remodel because I am not a DIY person lol. Every fifth wheeler we've been in has felt like a mansion compared to our motorhome. I'm sure you guys are gonna love it. We would have def going the fifth wheel route if we were doing this for more than a year. It's nice to not be kicked out of your home when you're having engine trouble for example.

Hey Mary! We totally agree. One of the biggest things we missed while traveling for that year abroad was a good ol american couch. Granted, this one is from ikea, but I can vouch for the fact it is a magnet for naps. I even slept on it last night just because it was so hot out we need some space from each other in this RV!

I have seen jobs of cute little places put together with popsicle sticks but suited to purpise, and I've seen predesigned overtweaked mega-tiny offerings by small family startups ... This is a legit as any other. You maximized your skills and put your stamp on it for what suited you ... Of course it is a great relief to know a few more feet of that old type of painful 70s-80s decor is gone, replaced with thrift and personal style. You guys are great spokesmodels for your own product. 😉 I also enjoy the stealth mode of it being way cooler on the inside than the outside would ever indicate. It's funny ...

Hey Maddy- We'll do a full video in the next month in depth to the point of boredom on our whole review of RVing but in the meantime....We got 7.5 mpg on average. Thats without towing anything and just having got a tune up as well! If we were full timing for more than a year and really wanted to invest we'd get a fifth wheel and a big old truck to haul it around with. Anyone can tell you (including us) that we moved around far and fast for only really being in the Class A for 9 months total. I mean, FLorida to all around the Western US and all the way up to AK was a TON of miles. Glad you're here now!
I heard on another video that if you use bleach on those sinks and put them in the sun it will be white again. You guys are hysterical I enjoyed your video very much. I'll be doing this very soon. Your dog does exactly the same thing both of mine do with those rattling bowls. It's a small drawback of the stainless steel bowl. So cute

The best of your videos I have seen. Lots of content in a short amount of time. You could take your 2 Vietnam re-edit them down to 30-40 minutes each and have great new content. I can not take 1 hour and 49+ or - time to watch long, long, long videos. Just my point of view and I'm not the one with a TH-cam channel. And, I am retired, so I have all of the time in the world.

It's somehow worked out really well! Glad we got grey- we just used the bed the other day and when it was pulled out, we noticed how much red Arizona dust had settled on the couch. Probably going to need to do a steam clean as soon as we get out of the desert.

Glad you're here Nomadd! The clothes thing has been a joke since our first trip. I keep throwing out more and more. Once you don't need to go into an office it's amazing how few clothing choices you need as long as you buy good quality gear.

I am 61 and was able to retire from corporate America last year; but have been dealing with my wife’s health issues since then. Enjoy it while you are young and healthy! Super job on the renovation. Hey Chris! The mechanical issues are a work in progress. We just had quite the nightmare scenario back in Phoenix getting some repairs done. Stopped in a shop to get two things fixed....when we drove out 2 days later, both of them still needed to be repaired! We knew going in that we'd have some mechanical issues to shake out so we're glad we budgeted around it. My buddy back home in Wisconsin also has his own shop so he did a lot of preventative work and trouble shooting before we hit the road. Overall though- here's what we've done since we bought the RV: Rear axle seal. Front suspension airbag. Plugs, wires, and ignition coils. New steer tires. House electric problem- There were corroded wires leading from the 30 Amp electric cord into the house that they had to clean up and rewire. Additionally, there was a problem where the engine wasn't charging the house batteries but this was an easy repair and a $34 part. New Ball joints all around in the front. No more squeeky! Next up is a new voltage regulator and then we should be set for a while (fingers crossed).
Omg, when you dog was trying to get water (or food) out of its bowl I was cracking up🤣🤣🐶🤘. Really enjoyed this video you guys seem so comfortable on camera and really enjoying life right now✌🦄
That's called "smacking the bowl". It means shes ready to eat...until we put food in and then she turns up her nose and walks away. We're still riding the high of being done with the renovation. Thanks Lavonda! It's a little bit harder to keep everything showroom clean while we're on the road, but we're really happy we painted everything bright white- makes a huge difference in how spacious it feels.

Hey Mat- thanks for checking this video out in the first place! We've watched a ton of tour videos as well (I mean, thats how we figured out what we wanted to do in the first place!) but quickly figured out that we lack both the DIY and camera skill to match those. That being the case, we didn't take this tour too seriously. Probably one of our favorite videos to film.
There really was no other choice than Ikea for compact furniture that was gonna stand up to a lot of wear and tear. Though we've been full time since Feb, everything still looks great!

What I lack in skill I make up for in stubborness. Anything can be learned/done if you keep at it. The stupid wood framing of the slideout took me an entire day to bang out. It should have taken 2 hours!

Thank you so much. We are in the middle of remodeling out travel trailer and I love the idea of the curtain on the hooks. So solves my problem for what to do with that door. We took out 2 heavy sliding doors and now I don't have to look for a curtain rod and make curtains. Great job. I did paint all the walls, but not the cabinets. Too much work right now, since we are redoing all the floors. Ripping out carpet and laying new click vinyl planks that look like reclaimed wood.
I enjoyed your video. I bought an RV to live in during a journey I will be taking next fall and I hadn’t considered recording the remodel because I am not a DIY person lol. I appreciate your “look it’s functional, pretty, and cheap” tone because that speaks to me much more than breaking the bank for an RV when I own a house lol. Definitely subscribing.🥰
Good luck with the remodel- if you decide to go that route! It was def worth the effort to brighten up an old RV inside. Made living in it for a year that much more comfortable.

Every fifth wheeler we've been in has felt like a mansion compared to our motorhome. I'm sure you guys are gonna love it.
We would have def going the fifth wheel route if we were doing this for more than a year. It's nice to not be kicked out of your home when you're having engine trouble for example.

Hey Mary! We totally agree. One of the biggest things we missed while traveling for that year abroad was a good ol american couch. Granted, this one is from ikea, but I can vouch for the fact it is a magnet for naps. I even slept on it last night just because it was so hot out we need some space from each other in this RV!

Hoosiers! I spent five awesome years in Bloomington and dragged Finney to Fishers for a year after our trip. I think I get an honorary hoosier card. We loved our time in Texas btw! With a state that big its no wonder its got almost everything.

Hey Guys! Thanks! It probably goes without saying, but when you're living full time in the RV it seldom (never) looks that clean and put together. We also might have had a few adult bevies while filming, hence the 15 minute run time..

Hey Maddy- We'll do a full video in the next month in depth to the point of boredom on our whole review of RVing but in the meantime....We got 7.5 mpg on average. Thats without towing anything and just having got a tune up as well! If we were full timing for more than a year and really wanted to invest we'd get a fifth wheel and a big old truck to haul it around with. Anyone can tell you (including us) that we moved around far and fast for only really being in the Class A for 9 months total. I mean, FLorida to all around the Western US and all the way up to AK was a TON of miles. Glad you're here now!
I heard on another video that if you use bleach on those sinks and put them in the sun it will be white again. You guys are hysterical I enjoyed your video very much. I'll be doing this very soon. Your dog does exactly the same thing both of mine do with those rattling bowls. It's a small drawback of the stainless steel bowl. So cute
We ended up using bleach and it worked perfect. What an easy fix- of course we didn't think of it til someone dropped the tip in a comment. Thanks!

The best of your videos I have seen. Lots of content in a short amount of time. You could take your 2 Vietnam re-edit them down to 30-40 minutes each and have great new content. I can not take 1 hour and 49+ or - time to watch long, long, long videos. Just my point of view and I'm not the one with a TH-cam channel. And, I am retired, so I have all of the time in the world.

It's somehow worked out really well! Glad we got grey- we just used the bed the other day and when it was pulled out, we noticed how much red Arizona dust had settled on the couch. Probably going to need to do a steam clean as soon as we get out of the desert.

Glad you're here Nomadd! The clothes thing has been a joke since our first trip. I keep throwing out more and more. Once you don't need to go into an office it's amazing how few clothing choices you need as long as you buy good quality gear.

I am 61 and was able to retire from corporate America last year; but have been dealing with my wife’s health issues since then. Enjoy it while you are young and healthy! Super job on the renovation. The mechanical issues are a work in progress. We just had quite the nightmare scenario back in Phoenix getting some repairs done. Stopped in a shop to get two things fixed....when we drove out 2 days later, both of them still needed to be repaired!
We knew going in that we'd have some mechanical issues to shake out so we're glad we budgeted around it. My buddy back home in Wisconsin also has his own shop so he did a lot of preventative work and trouble shooting before we hit the road.
Overall though- here's what we've done since we bought the RV:
Rear axle seal.
Front suspension airbag.
Plugs, wires, and ignition coils.
New steer tires.
House electric problem- There were corroded wires leading from the 30 Amp electric cord into the house that they had to clean up and rewire. Additionally, there was a problem where the engine wasn't charging the house batteries but this was an easy repair and a $34 part.
New Ball joints all around in the front. No more squeeky!
Next up is a new voltage regulator and then we should be set for a while (fingers crossed).
Omg, when you dog was trying to get water (or food) out of its bowl I was cracking up🤣🤣🐶🤘. Really enjoyed this video you guys seem so comfortable on camera and really enjoying life right now✌🦄
That's called "smacking the bowl". It means shes ready to eat...until we put food in and then she turns up her nose and walks away. We're still riding the high of being done with the renovation. I promise you the mood turns a bit "sour" as we hit the road and things start to break down 😜. Thanks for checking out this video!

Thanks Lavonda! It's a little bit harder to keep everything showroom clean while we're on the road, but we're really happy we painted everything bright white- makes a huge difference in how spacious it feels.

Hey Mat- thanks for checking this video out in the first place! We've watched a ton of tour videos as well (I mean, thats how we figured out what we wanted to do in the first place!) but quickly figured out that we lack both the DIY and camera skill to match those. That being the case, we didn't take this tour too seriously. Probably one of our favorite videos to film.

There really was no other choice than Ikea for compact furniture that was gonna stand up to a lot of wear and tear. Though we've been full time since Feb, everything still looks great!

What I lack in skill I make up for in stubborness. Anything can be learned/done if you keep at it. The stupid wood framing of the slideout took me an entire day to bang out. It should have taken 2 hours!
