    Great videos and recommendations. You're a great instructor. I'm also an OT and work in the home health setting.

    Single monitor is definitely the best option to avoid neck pain. Great video!

    What's the best set up for using a MBP 16 as the main screen for zooms plus dual screens, to avoid the MBP 16 from blocking out the external monitors and avoiding neck strain). Btw you know you and MKBHD have the same voice??!

    • @otfocus
      @otfocus  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Get a stand for your MBP and make sure the top bar is at eye level. It would be better to have the laptop in clamshell mode.

    Very good content! Congratulations for the channel!
    In your opinion, not considering personal preference but only ergonomics, what is the best size for a dual monitor setup focused on work?
    2 x 24 in? 2 x 27 in? 1x24 in+1x27 in?
    Thanks a lot

      What about a stacked setup?

    • @otfocus
      @otfocus  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a challenge but usually 2x 24 inches. But everyone has their own personal preference

    Do you think an IPS and an oled could work in a dual monitor setup? I'm considering buying an oled monitor for gaming and movies that I want to have as a second monitor with my existing IPS monitor.

    • @otfocus
      @otfocus  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It can work but if the screen is larger than 32 inches it can be problematic

    • @hassanarshad9720
      @hassanarshad9720 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I intend to have both screens at 27 inches

    • @otfocus

      That sounds good

    What do I do if I have 2 main monitors and my usage of them changing during the day? Like the first half of the day, I'm looking at one monitor and the second is working as my second one. And second half of the day I switch those monitors' priority. (1 monitor is ultrawide 4K for my first job, and second one is 16:9 5K with pro colors for my second job)

    • @otfocus
      @otfocus  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd probably have to see them, but my guess is to move them when you switch jobs to have the main monitor directly in front of you. That may not be easy but you want that main monitor in front of you for the most part of your day.

    i don't know if other people do the same or not
    my rule of thumb for space form monitor is 1 to1.25 for monitor size (for horizontal)
    like 24" i will place screen away for 24"-30" away that my sweet spot and can see whole screen without move my head.

    what about 57 inch super ultrawide?

    • @RandomGRK
      @RandomGRK 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, my 57 is killing my neck. I think it’s more of an up down issue, not a looking sideways.

  • @Milkmans_Son
    @Milkmans_Son ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems to me that setting up for your 30 degrees of horizontal to cover only half of each screen would be exactly what you want to avoid. Did I miss something?

    I use 2 monitors for pleasure (retired) one (L) for watching (listening) to docos, videos, movies and the other (R)for social stuff and playng games like mahjong etc They are angled inward, so sit slightly toward the left hand one with keyboard in front of it.

    what about samsung 49 inch super ultrawide?

    • @otfocus
      @otfocus  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The bigger the screen the more neck strain unless you’re sitting further away. So sit far away or get a smaller monitor.

    Can you talk about keyboard set up. I have two awful Phillips monitors given my employer, will be my third week working remote and I feel awful.. I’m working for a clinical call center. Always my third chair and yesterday got an adjustable standing desk but got a tall chair which is sliding a lot on my hardwood floor which is scary… my arms are 90 degree angle but I think my monitors are low! 😭

    • @otfocus
      @otfocus  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Check out my other ergonomic videos on desk setup. Keep your legs and elbows at 90 degrees with you feet resting flat on the floor. Wrists should be straight and eye at top bar of monitor.

    I agree i can only have my monitor straight infront of me and the other to right side ..but turning my head and rapid eye movement is causing vertigo

      @@otfocus your personal experience with Fieldwork 2 such as the settings you were placed in, interaction with your CIs, advice you’d give to students going into fieldwork, how you were able to handle your own caseload, expectations from your CIs, challenges of fieldwork, and how we can prepare for fieldwork. Thanks!

    I have a dominant monitor, however, I use the second one every minute. I need them bothmost of the time so I went for a centered two screen even though ergonomically is not the best...

    • @otfocus
      @otfocus  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think that’s fine. If you use it every minute you should have the equally positioned to reduce neck motion.
