I love the motor right behind your head. I had a 987 S and loved everything about it, especially how easy it is to drive quickly. The car really eggs you on, even at the track. Looking forward to more of your videos. Are you in SoCal?
I prefer the steering on the 987 by a wide margin, but everything else about the 981 is better, especially the interior. I just did a review of the Focus RS if you're interested.
Excellent and fun video there. Great sounds from that exhaust, and love the crackles and pops. How much does it cost ??? I also really like your colour combo of dark blue with tan interior. I have a 2006 cayman S in silver with black interior and love it. Cheers from Ireland.
Excellent, and its a stunner. Can I ask you how much the exhaust upgrade cost you ??? Its definitely a big improvement over stock as you say. Its like the difference in sound when I removed the Cats from my Yamaha R1. Basically the same sound as stock, but amped up nicely resulting in far more smiles per mile.
James Marshall , the Sports Exhaust was a Porsche option already on the car when I bought it. The car was loaded was all the performance options, so it was a lucky find. As far as cost goes, You can add it for around $2200 direct fro Porsche.
Thanks, I actually bought the car because I wanted the best handling car, hands down. But, these are just a few of the things that are great, I could go on for hours about it.
Do you think they'll do a flat 6 for this years GTS or GT4 successor ? I hope so because Imo the 718 looks better but the engine is awful I just hate it.
Dylan Thabest I'm not sure what they're planning. However, I do like the flat 4, it's just the sound that I don't like. Porsche has a long history of using flat 4 engines. We'll see what happens.
Don't get me wrong, I love how it drives. MPG Is great to since I love taking long trips and I live in a hilly area and the PDK is just the best, only my rolls can match it. But I just can't sacrifice the 6 cylinder, the 4 sounds like a Subaru to me, but I like the styling of the 718 a lot better. But lets see :)
mine gets 21 mpg its an amazing car. I had an elise prior to it and whilst the cayman is better in almost every aspect it just doesnt feel quite as special as the elise. My next car will either be an Evora s or a Tuscan s, would love a noble m400 or an ultima gtr but out of my price range :(
thats overall and i rarely drive in traffic, mostly country roads, i suspect previous owner had its ecu modified or something, either that or the mpg gauge is wrong
Great video; your candor and humility are refreshing! :)
Just bought a 2010. Will arrive in a few days. Great video.
Nice video! I recently acquired a 2016 981 S and, I am absolutely in love with the car! Looking forward to more of your videos.
Trucho thanks for watching. I love my 981 S also, best car I've ever had!
Excellent video! Great top 5 review of the car. I too love the PDK. Sweet music coming from your sport exhaust!
Hey George, I love the sound too, one of the best parts of the car.
718 owners eat your heart out listening to that naturally aspirated flat 6!!!

Thanks, I'm in Central Cal. I had a 987 prior to the 981, both have been awesome.

Hi there
Great review (s)!!!
Can you tell me did you do the break calliper yourself?
Cheers
Warren
Warren Bright don't understand your question, but the car had 8k miles on it when I purchased it, so no break in required.
Nice vid! my dream car at the moment! keep the vids up :D

James Marshall , thanks for your kind remarks. This is a 2014 S model. It was a one owner car that I picked up in southern California for $59k.

How are you able to keep the dark exterior looking clean? I used to have a dark blue one and it would look dirty a lot.
rbinteractivemedia , I wash it quite frequently. Usually once per week. I use Adam's Polishes products.

sam newman same for me around town, but 28-30+ on the freeway.

Cayman s or GTS ?
They're both nice, but I think the S is a better deal.
Is it the 718 or the flat 6?
Hey Bob, this is the 981 with the flat 6, it's a 2014 model.
