@pocketfiend36 Yeah, its a flat six ofcourse! Also, when you switch off the PASM, the cayman doesn't lower itself by 10mm, all caymans equipped with PASM are ALWAYS 10mm lower by default.
Cayman a super-car? No. Incredibly fast car that is beautiful, handles better than most cars (including super cars), yet still a functional car? Yes. And is it still a porsche? Indeed 'tis.
Sport mode makes a huge difference in throttle response for around-town driving (i.e. partial throttle), especially accelerating from a stop and for heel-and-toe. If you're doing 0% throttle straight to 100% throttle like in this video, you won't feel much difference.
I would agree that the Cayman is probably more of a high performance car than a super car. However, 0-60 is not necessarily an important factor. Remember this is a manual transmission, all the cars you're referring to as SuperCars get their fast 0-60 using an automatic transmission and launch control. The newest Cayman S with PDK/Launch Control does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds (depending on altitude...higher altitude slower times). While 4.1 is not supercar times I think thats pretty darn fast.
@milo2361 also.. suspension isn't lowered by 10mm, the PASM is 10mm lowered all the time compared to non PASM cars. (Porsche active suspension management)
Josh Estrada it’s okay... Tiff was probably narrating the voice over doing over 200mph on the Nurburgring while breaking a track record... just a little distracted that’s all :p
C'mon Tiff you can do better than that with your facts. I'd totally rock a R8 V10 as the main supercar, and the Cayman S as a side driver for fun when I want to keep on the down low when I don't want to attention from the R8.
Erm,, it doesn't look that dangerous from here; no loose tarmac, trees on either side of knarly bends, cliffsides and Rockfall signs, potholes like martian craters or troughs that collect pools and potential ice sheets in winter,, am I missing something? Do phantoms and goblins come out at night??
the whole drive is out of sequence and in some places he's going back down and not up to the pub (which is the best way to do the cat and fiddle). Bastards have also gone and put average speed cameras on it now too.
the cayman ISN'T a supercar... its a high performance car... a $400,000 Carrera GT is a supercar. im a huge fan of Porsche but 0-60 in 5 isn't a supercar... this car is definitely a great handling machine, and plenty fast for just about anyone. obviously worlds better than any honda could ever be, and i cant believe Tiff Nedell called it a straight six...
Entretenido y seguro
@sakda357 how can you even put the Cayman and the 370z in the same sentence? I agree that the Cayman is a high performance car-- not a supercar, but the nissan??? That car is horrible.
@@Tkcb2799 First of all Porsche doesn't even call it a super car. And it is slower than a 911 wich they also do not call a super car. Also the cayman's performance numbers tell it pretty well that it is not a super car. No hate on the cayman. I mean it is one of my favorite cars. But, it still isn't a super car.
@@Tkcb2799 I don't know about alfa romeos that much but personally I think that if something is made look like a super car, but hasn't the performance of one it isn't one. By modern standards 200hp isn't usually enough to be counted a sports car. And yes the 4c is light, but the 5 second accellaration isn't that fast to be a modern super car for atleast.
The Porsche Cayman S is NOT a supercar. I own one. I drive the hell out of it. On track and daily. Go see my vids. Yes, I have top end Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Yes I have the lowered and hardened suspension from the Porsche factory. Yes I have the sport options and it is a Cayman S. No it is not a supercar and I have at least one trophy from a Formula One race track to prove it. Open wheel race cars are much faster on the lift off from a corner. Much more aggressive in braking. Sorry, guys.
What can I say about a Porsche Cayman S, an all time favourite of mine.😎
FLAT SIX
Can't believe Tiff, of all people, got that wrong
FLAT 6 FLAT 6 FLAT 6

Sports car definitely

5 to 60 is slow ? what are you people smoking. Cayman is a great car.
What's with the 144p low def? Looks like someone filmed a video recording being played back on a CRT TV using their Nokia 6230.
@milo2361 also.. suspension isn't lowered by 10mm, the PASM is 10mm lowered all the time compared to non PASM cars. (Porsche active suspension management)
The cayman S is the best daily car I have.
Wow…not a straight six

144p? :(
@Razor4ever Nürburgring track times: Base model Cayman S 8:04, Base model NSX-R 8:09
Straight six? I think he means a flat six
Did Tiff say straight six...? Its a flat 6 Needles!

stop it! it's a sports car, a SPORTS car
It's not a straight six you knob

There's no Armco barriers and there are animals on the side of the road. Safe? I'm not so sure.

It's maybe not a super car, it is very good sports car, but straight 6? wtf O.o it's got a flat 6...

straight six, wtf?
he is driving on wrong side of road.

Same press car as the Top Gear Cayman S special
he a britt!, their in Brittland :\
2.5

The 370Z is fast and reliable. And it costs less.. But yes given the choice I'd take the Cayman every single time.
@teletube3 My comment is kinda stupid, but "aint" is semi-accepted as something you can say...
A sport car is anything from a Golf GTI to a Cayman. A super car is anything above a 911. End of story.
Cayman ain't a supercar!
It's better then super car!😎
@milo2361 The NSX-R will beat it without a problem.
I think 911turbo, GT-R are supercar but Cayman s and 370z not.
It is not a supercar
joku tyyppi why not?

lastmiles A supercar doesn‘t mean it needs to have 700+ HP duh
