I have owned a 911, a boxster, and now drive a 2011 Cayman S and I can't find a reason to ever drive a different car. I'm 70 years old and have owned most of the sports cars I dreamed about when I was younger. The Cayman has all the boxes checked and, as far as I'm concerned, my search for the perfect sports car has ended.
Robert Boyce It must be people of our age group . As a young man I dreamt one day I would own a Porsche. Now knocking on the door to my 70th & having spent a lifetime around performance cars I find myself perusing the ad’s for a low mileage, Cayman S daily. Maybe it’s time for my dream to come true.
So great to hear this - and I 100% agree. I've had a couple of Boxsters - 3 911s from a 993 which I really loved. But I'm on my 3rd Cayman now - 6 speed manual , 2016, 981 - and it's just about the perfect car.
I'm going on 8 years of owning a 2014 cayman s...it's still hard for me to "upgrade" to a 911....but when I get the itch...I drive my cayman and say....what for? This is the BEST car I've ever had!
Man, I swear your reviews always do it for me - clear, concise, and detailed but passionate reviews. Great shots, elegant theme music, good mic audio for engine symphonies. I can't ask for anything more from this channel. Great job!
VQSeries Thank you very much ! It takes abit of work to make these, so I really appreciate the postive feedback ! Greetings from germany, Guido / TheGetawayer
A rare manual! I have a PDK and, although it's technically excellent, I'm bored to tears and craving having a manual Porsche again (with Sports Exhaust, obviously).
wow i'm blown away at how amazing the exterior and interior styling is of this specific car. it's a work of art, simply gorgeous. combined with your ability to drive the car as it was meant to be driven makes it so damn appealing! another incredible review!
Anthony Jaswinski Congrats ! If you like send me a picturte to my facebook-page or email, I would love to see your car, Anthony ! Greetings, Guido aka Thegetawayer
Your reviews are the best, they are clear and detailed and the finish is amazing. On a side note! I am picking up my 981 Cayman this week in sapphire blue! Although I opted for PDK. Your review played a part in it! Keep up the great work!
hbhandal454 Thank you very much ! Happy to hear that ! Make sure to send me a picture to my facebook-page if you can. Would love to see your car :) Greetings from germany. Guido / TheGetawayer
Thanks for the compliment, buddy ! It's alot of work for a single person to shot such a video, so it means alot to me when you enjoyed it. Greetings, Guido
Excellent review Guido! I really loved your comments on the auto rev-matching. I agree with you, I hope it does attract more people to the manual. "Even a monkey can drive the PDK car fast" haha. Your comments were really thought out and you made many great points. I think I would choose the Boxster over the Cayman since I love convertibles. I'd have to drive the new 911 in order to decide if I'd take it over the Boxster S. Again, great comments and filming Guido! Keep the reviews coming!
oh this is one of the greatest car reviews ever. Finally, a real man who reviews a man's car with a proper box. Save the manuals !! keep up the excellent work guibo. Cant wait to see you do a review if the new 991 gt3. cheers from canada.
Great review - sent to me by a friend who wanted to reinforce my own purchase decision. A year ago, I pulled most of my hair out trying to decide between a very heavily discounted brand new 2012 911 GTS (MSRP $119,000; price $85,000), a heavily discounted brand new 2012 base 991 Carrera (MSRP $96,000; price $80,000) and waiting for the new 2014 Cayman S. I chose the last, placed my custom order in January, 2013 and waited not-so-patiently for the car to arrive in May,2013. Now, with 6 months and nearly 7,000 miles under my belt, VERY happy with my decision. The "deal" doesn't look as good on paper - MSRP on Cayman S was $78,935 with a modest 5% discount to $75,000, but the driving enjoyment is a significant notch up from my previous 2005 911S Cab, which I drove "only" 30,000 miles in 5+ years. Had I not already owned a 997, the 2012 911 GTS would have likely been my choice. But the new mid engine, lighter weight and tighter handling Cayman S is such a joy to drive, that I'm not missing the extra power of the GTS or the extra size of the 991. It fits me like a glove and engages me like no other car I've owned. White, PASM, Sport Chrono, Infotainment, 20" Carrera S wheels, Adaptive sport seats, 6-speed manual. Check in with me at 10 years and 120k miles, I'll still be smiling. Great reviews and I'll be forwarding your site to other friends that will greatly appreciate your insights. Best regards.
Thank you so much ! It's comments like yours and stories from fellow Porsche fans why I love filming these reviews. I personally absolutly love the 997 still. A GT3 would be my dreamcar, but for the money the Cayman S is just a bargain and I know your not the first 997 owner who bought one. All the best for your ownership ! If you can share a picture of your car with me on my facebook-page. I already had a few Porsche owners who did it. Greetings from germany, Guido aka TheGetawayer
TheGetawayer Thanks. I'd be happy to share a photo, but need some instructions on how? I'm teaching my daughter how to drive a stick and in exchange she will be showing me how to use Facebook. (No, not teaching her on Cayman, rather my Acura TL 6-speed). Unfortunately, we are both still stalling out too much. Regarding your dream car, recently met an owner of a 2012 GT3 with 4,000 miles who was trading it in at my dealership to order a 2014 Cayman S. He never made it to the track and he claimed driving the car on the traffic clogged roads around Washington DC was "too punishing" with it's super tight suspension and heavyweight clutch. I'll take a shot of the Cayman tomorrow with my i-phone if you can tell me what to do from there.
epn2 Really cool ! I met the owner of a 997 GT3 who allowed me to drive and film it this year. He uses the car as his daily driver from March to October and lives in the crowded city of Düsseldorf :) I'm sure it's not for everybody. My facebookpage can be found via this link: facebook.com/getawayerTV . You can either post the picture on my wall there or you send it to me in a private message. There's the option to attach a picture under the window where you type in the text. I'm sure you'll get it :) Greetings and again a big thanks for your comment ! Guido
Thanks Steve ! You know how much I love your videos and how much I enjoyed the Cayman review you did for Rosenthal, so your postive feedback means alot to me. The manual really is a joy to drive. Hopefully one day we can talk Porsches :) Greetings, Guido
Thanks Andrea ! I'm glad you to hear you enjoy my videos, especially since you are a Porsche-owner. I must say that I absoluty adore the 964 and its look. If I could get my hands on classic or vintage cars that would be awesome. I'm a huge fan of 80s and 90s Porsches, but I guess unless the Porsche museum or a friendly owner leands me one, it will be hard to get a 964 or 993 for filming :) Greetings, Guido
I don't know if it's different for Europe but here in America they have high end Burmester sound systems as an optional upgrade in certain Mercedes models. I worked at a Mercedes dealer and am therefore a fan so that's why I even make a clarification...that and because their sound is amazing. I drove a 2015 S550 with the high end Burmester 3d surround sound upgrade and I had never heard anything close to it before! Also, I do realize this video wasn't made in 2015 but rather 2013. As an awesome side note: I just rented a Cayman S for a day when I went on vacation and it was nothing short of mind blowing and incredible in every way. Everything said in this video is absolutely spot on. I too did not have the optional sport exhaust but still laughed every time I floored it. Muscle cars (whether German or American etc) are great fun but I enjoy cars that make me smile not just from power or sound, though the Cayman has both in crazy doses, but also from the sheer astonishment that occurs while getting to know just how capable this car is in the turns. With one full throttle pop in automatic and sport mode...and at 70 mph on the freeway...it went from 6th gear to 2nd gear without ever touching a paddle! I only just got into cars a year ago and so don't have years of driving experience but this was so easy to drift and not worry about losing control. My dream car right now is a 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS (still deciding on options and colors). It was insane fun without Lamborghini-like scary and offers everything I personally would ever want out of a sports car....and for around 80 grand!
You missed the sports exaust. It really makes the driving experience even better. With a shorter gear ratio, like a 911, it would be even faster. Give it the same engine as the carreraS, and i think it would outperform it. Its just a better sportscar due to its mid engine configuration. I also love the 911, dont get me wrong. But perhps now more a GT car, a great one. This cayman 981 is just a masterpiece!
Thanks Jeff ! Really glad to hear you liked the review ! Manuals just give you a connection to the car, that automatics can't really match for me...You are of course correct about the Bose system. I never had test car without it. Still, for the same money that you have to pay for the Burmester system you can get the Bose system and the PSE sport exhaust. That was my point...Thank you for watching and take care ! Greetings, Guido
This must be one of the nicest comments I have ever read about my videos in the last three years, since I started this channel...Thank you very much ! Really cheered me up :) Greetings, Guido
Great video and very thorough and unbiased review...from someone who admits their true enthusiasm for the 911 too so that much was both surprising and also very welcome. I do agree with your final conclusions that the 981 does now give drivers an option or shall I saw a moment of pause between a base 991 and a Cayman S especially. In addition with the changes between the 997 and 991 in terms of technology, driving dynamics, ergonomics, and price...there are some who would actually chose the 981 instead. I must say I am one of them...currently have 2009 997 C4S and have ordered a 2014 Cayman S (PSE, PASM, 6spd, Bose, Sport seat) and drove a PDK version at the dealership. IMHO the Cayman S in its new generation is much more fun to enjoy than my 997 C4S..at least here in the states where we don't have an autobahn to enjoy. Versus a 991 I think it still can hold its own and it then becomes a personal choice as to what the driver/owner is looking for. Size and power/performance vs a more driver focused nible car that you can push both yourself and the car in more normal driving experiences that are more prevalent here in the US. The 981 overall is a very well put together piece of machinery and its new dynamics combined with its new styling just sold the deal for me. I've had 4 911's (996, 997.1, 997.2 S and 997.2 C4S) along with a Cayenne S and Boxster 987.2 so I know my Porsches but would be interesting in your analysis or thoughts of my conclusions and 997 vs Cayman comparison. The 911 will always be the king...but the new Cayman/Boxster's well...maybe we're seeing a new prince to the thrown evolve. Great reviews my friend keep up the good work! :) Auf Wiedersehen
Another great review. I trust yours over others because as a Porsche owner myself, I can tell the passion you actually have for these cars. This is the first time I am seriously considering trading my 996 C4S in for a new 981 S. I would never have considered that until I watched your review. Thanks Getawayer for another honest, insightful and thoroughly enjoyable review.
Good work! Keep it up. Very good quality of videos and very in-depth look at the Cayman S. Also, its good to get your personal perspective on the comparison between the 911 (991) and this car. I love it.
Thanks Jozef ! I know most web-videos are shorter, but I try to give people a full detailed testreport in form of video. It's alot of work since I don't have a camera-crew and do all the filming myself. I'm glad you enjoy my videos. If people don't like my english, well...I'm sure there are other channels for them to enjoy :) Greetings from germany, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Very hard to find this long and focused on the topic (the car) review these days. I also appreciate that you mentioned some details like rev matching, audio system etc... something that is missing in other reviews. Only small con is your english, which I understand as neither I'm native speaker. Subscribed and looking forward to see more your videos.
Guido, Your reviews are getting better and better! Thanks very much. I was fortunate to be in Germany on the autobahn for one afternoon last week with a 650i. Not my first choice in a driver's car, but extremely competent and can do 260kph all day if you want to.
Great review! Agree with you 100% on PSE and the SportDesign steering wheel; they're must-haves. The PSE in sport mode is utterly addicting. What a sound! The sport seats plus are also fantastic. Keep up the good reviews!
You're very welcome, thank you, Jeff ! I personally would buy a C4S because I prefer the look with the wider rear wheelarches and the taillight stripe. Helped the 991 design alot imo. Greetings, Guido
I really enjoyed your review of the new Cayman S, especially as I just bought one! This is the first time I saw your site and will now follow it avidly as I am also a Porsche fan (my other Porsche is a 2010 997.2 GT3)
L. Hanson Thanks ! Well, I just did the new GT4 and between this and the S, I don't see much room for yet another Cayman review, eventhough I agree and think that the GTS might be the best version of them all :)
I actually thought about contacting RUF, but they are located pretty far away from me...It would take too long to get there for a day-trip. How's your 981 doing, Mike ?
Point well taken. It is from the German market where I see myself buying as well. I'm a Canadian living and working in Greece, and I have seen the prices and selection here...and they are asking silly amounts, with a tiny inventory. I'll definitely keep you and this great channel updated. Thanks again sir.
Hi Guido. Congratulations on another thoughtful, informative review. Yours are some of the finest on the internet. I love the 911 but also think the Cayman is very impressive. I'm glad you chose the manual transmission car, as I would. It's a shame that so few people opt for the manual or even know how to drive one these days. As you know, there is no greater satisfaction than "rowing" through the gears yourself. One point though. The Bose sound system is also an option on both Caymans. Thanks
Excellent review of a magnificent machine. I'm glad you went with the manual transmission. It was great to hear how much fun it was to drive...even when stuck in traffic! You provided just the right amount of detail balanced with your personal insights and enjoyment of the car. Great job..:) Steve
Thanks Gavin ! I would never ever compare myself to the world's best automotive journalist, because I'm a fan myself, but I'm glad you enjoy my video and the camera work I did. Greetings, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Thanks ! Well you know I'm still a huge 911-fan and personally I would still prefer it to the Cayman, but from a rational point of few: The Cayman is the winner. Greetings from germany, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Once again, an excellent review, Guido. You really should have your own television show. I haven't driven the new Cayman S, but you"re probably right that its layout is so well suited for its engine that it offers a better driving experience than a base 911. Yet, the 911 is just so much more of a car than the Cayman. The 911 is, as you've mentioned, a more mature car, a more desirable car. Put those two cars side by side, and the 911 -- even the base one -- will stand out.
Guido your so lucky to be able to drive such awesome cars.I can understand your love of these cars. Your videos are awesome. You have gotten very good at getting your point across.I think that this video like all your videos are great!
Thank you very much Paul ! I'm working on it. Hopefully I can bring you more Porsche content next year ! Greetings from germany, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Well,in comparison to the old 997 understeer has been reduced alot on the 991. I don't think that PDCC makes the understeer worse, infact it makes the car more agile, but for me it depends where you want to use the car. I always recommend it to people who want to do trackdays, but I don't think you really need it on normal roads. Where did you read about this understeer problem with PDCC on the C4/C4S ? Most people I know with PDCC equipped cars love it. Same on forum that I read.- Guido
Thank you ! This was my 3rd Porsche presscar after the Boxster S last year and the 911 Carrera 4 I drove in March. If you see the sheer number of cars they have in Zuffenhausen, you would be amazed ;) Greetings, Guido
Your review is very helpful and I really appreciate your efforts to present such a proper and high quality video. My CS will arrive late September, PDK with SC package. Will share the photos once it arrives. I hope you get the chance to review 991 GT3 soon. I can't wait to give us your feedback about it.
I can't find the article I read previously about the PDCC increasing 991 understeer, unfortunately. However, this is what AUTOCAR said after comparing the C2S with and without the PDCC system: "All things considered, we prefer the more natural progression of the car’s handling without the system, but those looking for the last word in track composure may well have different priorities." The forum comments I've read are mixed. I would trust your opinion more, though. Jeff
absolutely agree guibo. good review. the 911 may be the icon, but a fat one at that. the cayman is what a 911 used to be. light on its feet and a true drivers car.
Don't even worry: I'm 193cm or 6'4 and I can sit perfectly in any new Porsche, Cayman and Boxster included. Go for a test drive and I'm sure you will love it ! Greetings from germany, TheGetawayer
Thanks for your review again and esp your considerations when comparing to the 911! The 981s are certainly better driver's car to me, but my problem is that i don't get to drive as much without rear seats ... but the 991 isn't so perfect for its price tag to me. Your reviews always come from the heart, and while other enthusiasts naturally try to do the same, they don't speak the language of the cars themselves like you do!
Very nice review!! I did not know that that kind of electronic existed associated to manual gearboxes for the less experienced drivers that can't heel and toe. We've already spoke about this and you know my opinion regarding manual gears...manual is the way to go!
Maybe a used 997 GT3 would be another option for you. I had the chance to drive and film one this year and my friend actually uses it as his daily driver apart from the winter season. The SLK 55 is a great car, but not as capable in corners as any of the Porsches. But if you get the chance to drive one, do it ! I loved it. Greetings, Guido
Pierre, I'm well known for being a 911-fan, so I personally would always have a 911 instead of any other sportscar. My personal favourite is still the 997.2 GT3. Drove one this year and made a short video. This car will be one of the last sportscars purely focused on driving, real driving for me: Having a manual, the gloroius 3.8 liter engine, best suspension and steering in the world...I doubt the new GT3 with PDK will be as satiesfying to drive on public roads for me. Greetings, TheGetawayer
Great! I absolutely love the Cayman S! I know we are supposed to crave 911 and their unique layout but the laws of physics (referring to superior Mid-engine layout) and appealing price make a Cayman a prefered car for me. And now it looks fantastic too!
Great video and review. Gives you a great feel for the car. Do you know what color leather is specced in this Cayman S? Like that it's deeper than the standard tan. Not sure it's an option here in the U.S. Keep up the great reviews!
Your reviews are of are just as proficient as those that are conducted by Chris Harris. I hope that you are recognised appropriately for it. Thanks for doing it. I love Porsches and I hope to work hard enough to own one when the time is right. Also, for someone who considers English to be his second language, your comman of the English language is brilliant!!
Hi Guido. I read about the PDCC adversely affecting the 911 991 understeer in one of the American auto magazines. I think it was Road & Track or Car and Driver. I'll try and find it and let you know for sure. Do you think the 991 C4S has more understeer than the 991 C2S? That's what I'm mostly concerned about. Thanks. Jeff
Thanks Mico ! Yes, the auto rev-matching is a nice feature and I used it more often than I expected. Nothing matches a manual, right ? :) Greetings, Guido
Thanks Ryan ! I had the PSE in the C4 and it sounded absolutly epic, so yes I missed the PSE alot in the Cayman. Great to get your feedback as a new Cayman-owner ! If you can please send me a picture, I'd love to see your car :) Greetings, Guido aka TheGetawayer
It's optional and called luxorbeige. You can get it in the states, I believe the colours are the same for all countries where Porsche sells. But I don't actually recommend it because it reflects in the windscreen when the sun hits it. You can see it in my full review of the 981 Boxster S. Greetings from germany, TheGetawayer
Thanks ! I would go for the Sport Plus seats, the Bose soundsystem, Sport Chrono Package and leave most of the rest stock. You don't need too many options on the Cayman S, but of course you can buy lots of them :)
Hi Guido. Thanks for responding to my previous comment. I appreciate it. I do have a couple of questions concerning the 911. I have read that the all-wheel drive system in the C4/C4S causes an increase in understeer compared to the C2/C2S rear-wheel drive platform and that the PDCC active anti-roll chassis control system makes the understeer even worse. What do you think about this? Have you driven any of the 911s that had the PDCC? Thanks again.
Well, I tested the 991 S in November on summer tires and the traction was still amazing. I personally think good snow tires are much more important than awd. The engine is over the rear axle and it's not a secret that all 911 have amazing traction for this reason. But if you want the awd, buy a used car and get the C4S. That should save you a little bit of money to get into 991 S territory. And most importantly: Test drive all of them ! Greetings, Guido
Thanks Wim ! Glad you enjoyed the video. Can't really do much about my accent, but I guess most germans sound horrible talking english so at least I try my best to have the right vocabulary for these kind of videos ;) Greetings, Guido aka TheGetawayer
@10:38.. haha, you are so right. Loved this one in particular since I have a 987c manual - but the interior in the 981 is so much nicer!! Keep the reviews coming, they are really enjoyable!
That's correct, but the Burmester website didn't say that back in July when I filmed this video. I saw the new S-Class with a Burmester system, so I'm aware of that ;) Greetings, TheGetawayer
Great options, Chris ! I personally wouldn't go without the PSE, the standard exhaust doesn't sound exciting enough for me and that kind of spoils the driving experience abit. I really wonder how much longer Porsche will offer manuals since you can't get them in the GT3 and new Turbo anymore. I drove and filmed a 997 GT3 a few weeks ago and man did I love the manual in this car ! I think I will stop filming reviews once all sportscars have become automatics...Greetings, Guido / TheGetawayer
Great review! I like your reviews. You take your time and really evaluate the cars objectively, while keeping us abreast of your own preferences and biases. I know the car is old, but could you do a review and comparison of the 06-08 BMW Z4 Coupe; the 3.0si vs. the M Coupe? I am an owner of a 3.0si and would love to see your comparison of the two cars.
Love your review. I am in love with the new Cayman. I recently got a F30 335i. If listened to my heart, I would have spent the extra money on the Cayman.
I need to get used to your accent, compared to other reviewers. But you camera work and information are very good. So subscribed to this channel, and i liked your review. good job.
I'm 6'4 and I had no problems in the Cayman to be honest. The price makes the Cayman S very appealing, but trust me: A Carrera S is in a different league. That's why I pointed it out. Greetings, Guido
Robert Boyce you lucky man! Hoping it will happpen to me too, to own a Porsche as soon as possible and drive with a constant smile.
Robert Boyce
It must be people of our age group .
This is the most relevant comment I read and should get thousands of like. Thank you Sir for sharing your life’s experience and telling it as it is. ❤
This is a great review from Guido. It gives all the details and answers all the questions about this very well made car.
Even though it’s not insanely fast, expensive, or attention grabbing, it’s always been my dream to own a Cayman S. Amazing review!
No problem Guido, keep up the great work!
Greetings from New Jersey :)
A rare manual! I have a PDK and, although it's technically excellent, I'm bored to tears and craving having a manual Porsche again (with Sports Exhaust, obviously).
The manual really is lovely, James...But the PDK is great too. It's a tough choice :)
James: well said. I'm glad I have the Manual.
wow i'm blown away at how amazing the exterior and interior styling is of this specific car. it's a work of art, simply gorgeous. combined with your ability to drive the car as it was meant to be driven makes it so damn appealing!
another incredible review!
Just ordered my grey 2014 with manual 6. Very excited. Thanks for the informative and well produced review!
Anthony Jaswinski Congrats ! If you like send me a picturte to my facebook-page or email, I would love to see your car, Anthony ! Greetings, Guido aka Thegetawayer
I'm glad you took the time to review the interior of the car as well. Very thorough.
That's great to hear. I think you can't go wrong with Porsche interiors though. I'm a tall guy at 6'4 and I never had any problems :)
Thanks Matt ! Your feedback means alot to me and I'm glad you enjoyed my review ! Greetings from germany, Guido
I wish they would add a button to the dash so the driver could turn the auto rev-match feature on and off in any mode (regular, sport, sport+).
Thanks, Tiny ! I'm so glad you still enjoy them after all these years. Greetings from germany, Guido
Eine großartige Reportage! Das Ganze ist so realitätsnah, dass ich mir eine Probefahrt sparen kann und das Auto ad hoc bestellen werde.
oh this is one of the greatest car reviews ever. Finally, a real man who reviews a man's car with a proper box. Save the manuals !! keep up the excellent work guibo. Cant wait to see you do a review if the new 991 gt3. cheers from canada.
Pleasingly honest and straight forward review. All the things that make a review helpful and informative. Love your videos !
Thanks !
You are the best reviewer on the planet right now.
Great job Guido! You hit 99% of what I wanted to know. I would have liked your impression of the useable room / space in the car.
This must be one of the nicest comments I have ever read about my videos in the last three years, since I started this channel...Thank you very much ! Really cheered me up :) Greetings, Guido
I absolutly agree with that. The 911 will always be that one special Porsche, regardless how many other models Porsche sells. Greetings, Guido
I love it.
Thanks, this feedback means alot to me ! I'm glad you enjoyed it ! Greetings, Guido
Just found your review and I am impressed with your knowledge about Porsche and enjoyed the high quality of your video.
Brilliant review, clear, concise, and as impartial as a true fan can get !!!!
Marvellous machine and an astoundingly well-balanced review!
OMG, wonderful and comprehensive review! Can't wait to test drive this one myself!!! Grtz from Antwerp!
Great review! Agree with you 100% on PSE and the SportDesign steering wheel; they're must-haves. The PSE in sport mode is utterly addicting. What a sound! The sport seats plus are also fantastic. Keep up the good reviews!
I made sure to get a manual. The PDK in the Boxster S last year was awesome, but the manual is just pure joy :) Greetings, Guido
Fantastic review as always. I hope you get to drive a Cayman GTS one day. I've read nothing but good things about that version
L. Hanson Thanks ! Well, I just did the new GT4 and between this and the S, I don't see much room for yet another Cayman review, eventhough I agree and think that the GTS might be the best version of them all :)
Another great review Guido, looking forward to a Cayman GTS analysis!
Thank you very much, Jeremy ! One of the nicest comments I've ever had. Thank you! Guido aka TheGetawayer
Congratulations, John ! All the best for your ownership ! Greetings from germany, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Guido your so lucky to be able to drive such awesome cars.I can understand your love of these cars. Your videos are awesome. You have gotten very good at getting your point across.I think that this video like all your videos are great!
And thank you for the reviews! Hope you can get your hands on the new GT3 soon !
Yes, that the point that's hard to explain for me. If you like driving with the top down the Boxster is the obvious choice. Greetings, Guido
Excellent review your doing a fantastic job reviewing the car I'm saving up for! More please!
Thank you very much Paul ! I'm working on it. Hopefully I can bring you more Porsche content next year ! Greetings from germany, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Thank you very much ! Glad you like the video - TheGetawayer
Thank you very much ! I'm glad you like it ! - Guido
Well done mate. Great review, always looking forward to your next video to go up.
Jeff
Thanks buddy ! Glad you enjoyed the video ! Greetings, TheGetawayer
absolutely agree guibo. good review. the 911 may be the icon, but a fat one at that. the cayman is what a 911 used to be. light on its feet and a true drivers car.
Thanks Apphia ! I'm sure you'll love the new Cayman. Greetings from germany, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Great review. Your videos seem to get better and better, keep up the good work!!
I endured the 3-month wait...just got mine 3 weeks ago. It's worth every second of the wait!
Thanks. Jeff
Thanks ! I'm glad you enjoyed it ! Greetings, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Your camera work is top tier and your are up there with the best like Chris Harris
Glad you like it, Andre ! Greetings from germany, Guido
Thanks Mico ! Yes, the auto rev-matching is a nice feature and I used it more often than I expected. Nothing matches a manual, right ? :) Greetings, Guido
Nice review, I also love the 981 S
I really liked your review. I am really considering this. What do you think are must have options for this car?
Thanks ! I would go for the Sport Plus seats, the Bose soundsystem, Sport Chrono Package and leave most of the rest stock. You don't need too many options on the Cayman S, but of course you can buy lots of them :)
Please make a video on the 718 Base Cayman in manual!
Another great video Guido.....just makes me want a Porsche.
Thanks Wim ! Glad you enjoyed the video. Can't really do much about my accent, but I guess most germans sound horrible talking english so at least I try my best to have the right vocabulary for these kind of videos ;) Greetings, Guido aka TheGetawayer
Glad you like it ! Greetings, Guido
@10:38.. haha, you are so right. Loved this one in particular since I have a 987c manual - but the interior in the 981 is so much nicer!! Keep the reviews coming, they are really enjoyable!
MrSlash00r Thank you very much !
