Brazilian here! The Dolphin Mini, aka. Seagull, will be a blast, starting at R$ 99k, or USD 20k. Same price as many subcompacts as i.e. a Hyundai HB20.
Brazilian car prices are comparatively high, largely due to taxes. Most people who are not familiar with the market do not realize that ~$20k USD is a good price in Brazil.
Yesterday I did the test drive for the seagull and I fell in love with that vehicle, it is very comfortable, the quality of the seats is excellent and the acceleration is perfect, here in Uruguay the prices are the basic 22k model and the more equipped 24k, it is definitely worth it to be my next vehicle
@boiscooka232 I know its double! Cause they need to pay shipping, cost for shops / or reseller, taxes and the like 😪 Unlike in China, they want it to be really good price to fight against other EVs. Overseas normally they are still the cheapest even with all those additional cost
Thank you for explaining about pearl paint. When I was choosing the colour for my car, the salesman mentioned that they had a lot of trouble matching pearl white paint on a damaged car and discovered that the ordinary white matched the pearl white car better than the pearl white paint did.
My pleasure. I must say though, some of these new fancy paints are nice to look at, but they're often very difficult to put right when there has been an accident. Not to mention expensive.
There are rumours, about BYD Dolphin will be upgraded and the price will be about 200.000 kr in Denmark 🇩🇰 now the cheap version is 234.995 for the comfort , and 249.995 for the design , both with the 60,48kw battery, the news should be published Friday 😊 i hope its a true story
I hope that you are correct because I am interested in buying one and am hoping to go to a Fully Charged Show/Electrify Everything show to see one and hopefully have a test drive. I have never been to one of these shows before and may be going with a friend who has been before. On emailing him I asked him if the dealers give discounts like they do at the astronomy shows that I go to, he hasn't replied yet.
@@ThorRavnsborg There is something about it on The Electric Viking but that is for China and SE Asia where the Dolphins are not the Global version that is sold in Western countries. However, some of the enhancements are not on the Global version.
After looking into importing a 2nd hand JDM, all the little extras really adds up. If it was easy, everyone would do it. For me, ev will be the way to go. Pay taxes upfront.
Sign me up ! Perfect car ! Don't need 100 computers , self driving or entertainment center ! I'm driving to work like a normal person 16 miles each way 40 miles a day .... Charging Time will be short ...Be fully charged on 110 next morning .... No problem for any power grid ..... awesome !!!!
Awesome comment. I totally agree. A lot of people like me literally go out to buy bread and milk, or drive as you say 16 miles to work. We don't need something spectacular.
I think the Dongfeng Nammi 01 will be a better choice than the seagull, for almost the same money as they claim, its interior and equipment look richer, what do you think? He is to come to Europe in the summer.
To date after over a year BYD has been a total disater in the UK and they sell a fraction of the cars that SAIC/MG do. Their sales figures are actually embarrasing. Their problem is pricing with the Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal costing more than double in the UK than in China. Their greed has made them a joke car company that UK customers have no knowledge or experience of. If they carry on as they are doing now they will be a massive failure as Renault and Stellantis have more affordable EVs coming and SAIC/MG has a very modern hybrid MG3 on the way. BYD need to sharpen their pencil for any hope of UK adoption.

I would buy one immediately as a work car.

Interesting. Where did you hear that?

Super, I hear you.
We are waiting in the uk.

Apparently there are listings for this particular car on Alibaba. I don’t think I can get one because of the 25 year import ban.
Waiting for BYD in Canada! 🐬🦭

Probably the high prices are caused by tariffs.
It is a nice car especially travel around local city, going for work or supermarket.
I can not wait to get to US market!
2025 at the earliest - BYD won't make any announcements until after the US Presidential election is over.
Hey mate, just wondering why you say that. Good observation :)
Indonesia is waiting
emang paok manajemen byd indo, malah yg mahal2 dimasukinnya. ya pasti nyungsep penjualannya di banding wuling, mg dan cherry
Peru and Chile are waiting !
The BYD Seagull will easily go over ten million sales over the world.
Well then Ben you must be wishing you stayed in Australia now that BYD has announced the Dolphin Mini which I believe is the Seagull!
Do they have AM/FM radios with AUX inputs for our own music?
I don't see head units.
How many speakers?
i want one.....here in Canada
Is it already changed to CCS2 charging port for international?
I would also buy only this one, because it will not be expensive
The New one in China the price is:9.7k~11.9k😂😂😂

A nice car
Everyone seems to love it!
National security
MAGA will not be happy about this.
Lol isnt his campaign promise is to reverse that infamous tariff? because GM survival is being able to import SAIC wuling/MG to US.
