    What did I do without this for so long?2 pieces of French Toast at a time ?20 minutes for 10 pancakes ?NO MOREthis griddle is awesomeTook some time to season before first use th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHM5jmQoi4dbb0hoWSBs9hPhSwXUbGVG_ did brunch and hibachi dinner on Mother’s Day and it worked like a charmSturdy, well built and heats up quick. burners2-4 were a little stubborn but then lit up.Great addition to my patio.Bought the cover and it’s great, also bought the accessories kit - scraper is good but the spatulas are flimsy to be honest that’s my only negative.

    Best Blackstone seasoning video I have seen. I seasoned my 17" Adventure Ready griddle with olive oil as he shows in the video putting the top in the oven at 450 degrees, doing the 3 steps and the end result looked like it was done at a factory. It does make your house smell a little scorchy for a day. Delaney did an awesome job with the video and was very clear and easy to follow. A+++

    Great video. I had already seasoned ours outside. You are right it is spotty. So after watching yours, I seasoned again in the oven upside down. Now it is finished. We love it so far. Can't wait to use it camping.

    You save the expensive propane by seasoning in the oven. But close the oven door each time between seasonings.

      That's what I plan to do!!! Used to seasoning cast iron pans, so shouldn't be too much different! Crisco shortening.

    Just a tip for seasoning things. I seasoned my 22" Blackstone inside my large Weber grill. My Weber will get hot enough and it allowed me to season the top, sides and bottom of the griddle. No real hot spots from the Blackstone burners just a nice consistent seasoning across the whole thing. I've used this method for several items that need seasoning with great results. Stay safe!

    The unboxing was very detailed and informative. Almost all my questions were answered by watching this video. The only thing I would add is that you can disconnect the gas tank apparatus from the unit itself after using and it will be safe. It will not leak gas because of a spring loaded feature built in to the nozzle. Top notch video Delaney!

    I got one of these on your recommendation and now after the end of the summer I must say I love it. Two observations: the case is a must to carry it. It can be a beast without it. I also pack it in my truck bed easier to reach and grab. Also I love the grill because no pots and pans. I’ve set a backpacking teapot on it for hot water. Thanks for the review.

    Nice unboxing video. Just bought a new 17 from Camping World and it was the original design with grease drawer in front. Took it camping last month and I couldn't get the grease to fall into the drawer due to some alignment issues out of the box. I returned it but did enjoy the 2 meals I cooked. I think this one with external drip pan in the back is the way to go. Thanks

    Be sure to confirm that the top cast iron aligns/fits into the base unit holes before you waste your time with seasoning it. I went through the full seasoning process only to discover mine was a couple millimeters off. I had to muscle it on and off by practically bending the the base unit walls .. Returned to Walmart for an exchange.

    We’ve got the original 17” model. Like you we were limited to what size would fit through the camper’s storage bay. I like the grease catch being in the back on these new models rather then scraping grease toward the user.
    If you ever find the spark igniter isn’t working check the distance from the wire to the flame tube. Per Blackstone it should be between 1/8 and 1/4”.

I use a plastic folding table and I have a BS soft case for it. Tip: turn the knob slowly so the gas fills the tubes before spark hits.

Is there an advantage over other traditional cooking oils? Second, have you cooked a steak on it and if so, how does it taste? Flaxseed oil does the best job for seasoning the griddle! And cooking with it keeps your griddle top black and slick, and cleanup is a breeze. I use flaxseed oil on my 22” Blackstone and the griddle top on it is as slick as glass.

    I just bought one and it is slightly different. There are “nuts” packaged and attached to the feet . No longer is there a threaded insert for the feet. You can also remove the grills flame control knob and store it inside as well for a smaller footprint for storage. For seasoning I used the three step, three temp method also in the oven. Oh, and before seasoning I sanded my griddle surface to make it very smooth and flat.

    Very thorough review. Subscribed to your channel.. How hot does the griddle top get? Is the griddle cast iron or carbon steel? Thank you.

    • @TravelswithDelaney
      @TravelswithDelaney  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure how hot it actually gets but I can tell you there are spots on the grill that get hotter than others which is nice. According to the product description online: Thick rolled-steel surface for excellent heat retention and distribution

    Do you ever wish that it had more than one burner for easier control of griddle heat , say one side cooler than the other ?

    • @TravelswithDelaney
      @TravelswithDelaney  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No…for us this one has worked great. I find the outside runs cooler than the center so I just move food around as needed to control temperature

    Hi Patrick. Great video as always. Is your 17 inch Blackstone grill still working for you? Any consideration of moving up to the larger 22 inch unit?

    • @TravelswithDelaney
      @TravelswithDelaney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Mitch! Yes...we still have it and love it. Its been two years and no issues. We use it both on the road in the RV and here at home. The 17” works perfect for us and the size is great for taking in the RV.

    Do you recommend a hood and would that plus a hood continue to fit the carry bag?

    • @TravelswithDelaney

      We just have one of those portable domes we put pver food that we want to steam. a full grill hood would not fit in our case. they might make a special case for those units

    I seasoned mine using a propane camp burner, rotating it around to make sure all areas got seasoned well. Was camping when I unboxed mine. I love my griddle when camping.

    Hi! I just bought this. Do you prefer to leave the 1lb propane tank attached or take it off every time. I took mine off and there was a pop. Not sure if that is normal or not. It’s my first time using the smaller tanks. I’ve googled and it said that noise is normal. It’s a release of the gas.

    • @TravelswithDelaney
      @TravelswithDelaney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We now use a hose to a quick connect on our trailer and that uses propane from our RV tanks.

    • @jasondarullo3920
      @jasondarullo3920 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's normal when you disconnect its the excess that makes the pop spund

    Thus far... we have always made campfires for cooking on (we don’t even cook in the RV except for oatmeal 🤣) We do have a grill from our boat we have brought along on occasion... this seems like a great solution! Thanks for the informative video Patrick!

    Great video! Appreciate the seasoning in the oven; regardless of the "smokieness" you have. The overall seasoning quality overrules that minor problem. How difficult is it to dispose the small 1 pounder propane bottles? Seems that might be a problem, to me. I'd consider carrying a 20 lb LP bottle (the the truck) with an accessory hose, to overcome that issue. Very helpful video; keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing more of your "real life" B'stone Griddle vids. Y'all Be Safe!

      We actually bought the hose adapter and just hook it up to the 20# propane on our trailer.

      We don’t use the little tanks anymore. We plug either into a 20# tank at home or use the quick connect on our RV.

    Hello From Maine! Watched your video last night and went to the Walmart and we bought the 22” model, I wanted to make sure we have plenty of room on the grill, I love the flame pattern in it, mine came with the 22” griddle, steel cover, and the table! We got it for $147.00 at our local Walmart, I bought some accessories too, going to season it this after noon just like you did! Thank-you for the awesome review Patrick, Subbed! Keep up the great videos...... ps, what did you clean the griddle surface with prior to seasoning it please?

    im curious how long a propane cylinder lasts I know it all depends on how much you use the Griddle. Just wonder if the manufacturer gives a general summation how long the 1lb tank will last?

    You should also season the underneath of the griddle. I did mine in my Weber outdoor grill so as not smoke up the kitchen.
