Its because your hair is lightweight than the wet hair. So it made your hair thicker because it got lighter.

@@ineselabadi446 well that's not really a bad thing -is it? you can always take rows out but you can't put more in than you originally got.. so you have more options with your brush :D
I can’t believe all the ignorance in these comments! I use the denman brush and on my hair, which is the same curl type as hers, it’s better for styling than it is de-tangling. Just because it does multiple things for one persons hair doesn’t mean it will do the same for everyone else’s.
People who have 3a/3b curls and lower will scrunch and defuse because this helps with the definition of the curls. It’s not to say that she’s got “straight hair and is using product to make it curly” I’ve literally never heard anything more ignorant in my life. Curls don’t only exist in the kinky type, they literally vary in all different forms.

It doesn’t have to be! I have 3A 3b hair and I love Dippity Doo Girls with Curls. It’s so inexpensive. The Gelee and the co-wash are my best friends. I also love herbal essences hairspray. Works so well and pretty much the cheapest hairspray out there.
Kelly Marie Maui moisture is inexpensive too and Cantu both sulfate and silicon free options safe for curly hair

For tighter and smaller curls, keep all the bristles of your Denman brush. If you prefer bigger, fatter curl clumps, take out every other row. In other words, the more rows the tighter the curl.
Also, if it snags on your hair or doesn't swoosh through easily, the pins are set too closely for your hair type and you need to take some rows out.

what’s the point of them selling the denman brushes in different sized sets then? i mean if you can just take out rows out there has to be some other reason for smaller sized brushes right?

I love my denman brush. Feels good on the scalp too. I have the 7 rows too but some folk have an amazing thickness so there are more rows. Amazon and not expensive. Will last years I think.

I'm a dude trying to grow my Curly hair and can't find much video on youtube about Men making Video about curly hair then I ended up with bunch Ladies with curly hairs I think I'l follow their routines.
I don’t think gender really changes tips and routines for hair care the only difference is a woman’s hair is most likely going to grow longer and faster due to hormones.

Less rows, when running the brush vertically through the hair, will create bigger curl clumps. That's why you can remove the rows.

Taking out a row is useful for curls so you can choose the size you need your curls to be because when you use it to define it is forming your curls and if you have big curls it allows you to modify the brush to suit you. Your amazing btw xx

I use to have curly hair just like hers but as I got older they fell out. Now mine is mostly wavy with few actually tight curls. But it's also so much easier to take care of the frizz is still crazy though haha. Btw your hair is beautiful, really it's great the way it is I love it
People take out the rows for definition....when I had all the rows in my brush I didn’t like it because I have different hair types. But, when I took out every other row it mad the definition wayyyyy more defined.❤️❤️pretty hair

I did it with my usual (wetbrush) brush and that worked as well. But when I got my Denman brush and tried it with that one, the results were much better.

Leila H I was going to say the same thing! It works with a wide tooth comb if u use that motion as well. This Denman Brush thing is such a fad.

I have thinner curly hair and mine is always greasy too because of product but I feel like when I don't put as much in it is frizzy

I like to think of this technique like when you take a ribbon and use scissors to curl it. If you have dry hair with low elasticity though it's not really going to work.

the “less and more row” is so you can clean out the hair easier and when you take the denman out don’t pull it straight out like that it slides on and off if you look at the top

tip for the denman brush: it is easier to slide the red part up instead of pulling it, as well as you can take it apart for easy cleaning! :)

The Asian grocery store I go to has a section for daiso products and they had a dupe for the 9 row denman brush! I'm so glad I was too cheap to buy the brand name one because I scored this one for 1usd! It's identical down to the removable rubber and rows to customize. I tried it out for the first just how you showed us,cant wait for my hair to dry!

When you take out some rows of the little pick things in the brush it can create bigger curls if that makes sense. The less the rows the bigger the curls form when brushed

Your hair is beautiful! My hairs curlier than yours but for some reason the only issue I have is that my curls don’t cooperate well in the back of my hair. The back is flatter not sure what to do!

It might just be your hair texture. Do you put products in and diffuse upside down? Try put small rollers in your hair but only at he back
