- Today I show you how to use the Denman brush for curl definition on 2C, 3A, 3B curls. The first portion of this video I show you what curly hair products I like to use to moisturize my hair and style it. Then I show you how my hair comes out and I show my 2nd day curly hair. I hope you learn something new!

I gave up on the denman brush almost immediately because I found it kept catching on tangles and I couldn't figure out what angle and tension to get the curls to clump, but this is SO different and I think it might actually work, especially if I wet my hair down a lot more. I'm just starting my curly hair journey so this will probably also help train my hair to bring out the curl pattern more. Thank you!
Becca hi! Yes the denman brush is tricky. There’s a lot of techniques you can do. But I love this technique for my hair so much & I hope it works for you! Good luck 💕
You can modify the brush. Take some of the bristles out to better brush through your hair.

It’s not a brush for detangling, so make sure your hair is already detangled before starting. I never saw the need for this brush but after getting one I immediately understood the hype, because the difference is huge!
the brush is not to detangle ur hair, and you should always style ur hair when it’s wet. Not dry. + make sure to use products like serums, mousees, oils, leave in creams etc
I do something similar to this, I have 2c/3a hair type and it’s made such a difference, yes my styling routine feels longer now but it’s worth it because you’re able to extend your wash day without frizz and refreshing is a breeze.
I also love to air dry for a bit before diffusing because less frizz !
Key difference: I apply a leave in or curl cream, style with the brush and then when I scrunch the hair up I use gel to seal it all in.

How do you know your type of hair?
@@nevergonnagiveyouupnevergo972 you can look up charts online for curly hair and I believe you can take a few quizzes and read some articles. Whichever one you relate to more is the hair type you have. It has for waves and curls.

I’ve been using mine for a few months and the only way it worked for me,was upside down.Doing that left my roots flat and caused me to loose hair in my hairline.I was being too rough with it.Tried this method tonight and OMG you changed the game for me!! Thank You!!

Can I just tell you. I’ve watched quite a few videos, but couldn’t find anyone with hair similar to mine. Once I found your channel I was pretty much hooked, and started learning about the low porosity, low moisture and high density of my long hair. I also learned how to use all my products and tools effectively and how to better care for my beautiful but difficult, thick and wicked high maintenance head of hair. Today for the first time I tried this method, and I can’t believe the results!!!!! So much, that I wanted to take the time to like, subscribe and give you a well due shout out. I do something VERY similar. I just use the brush, start at the roots and twist the brush! Super fast!

This video was so helpful! Still trying to get the hang of it but I could never do finger coiling right but after watching this video I use the brush to help me get started and finish off finger coiling which is something I could never do before. Thanks so much!

@@AlexasCurls Hey! so it does work but its tricky. I frequently got my hair stuck in the brush and that was frustrating. I think with more practice it will become easier.
@@juliazolotarev4984 Hey! I apologize for the late reply but I had to try it twice and I wash every 7 days. Conclusion: It does work. It is tricky and my hair sometimes got caught in the brush. This may be resolved with more practice. Also, I had to take much smaller sections because the circumstance of my curls are much smaller than hers. Give it a try 😀
Janelle Bailey agree. When I first started doing this it got stuck a few times. But after doing it a whole lot of times it doesn’t anymore. Practice helps a lot 💕💕

I'm the same way, and my hair is very thin/fine. I feel like that much product would plaster my hair to my head lol But the method is worth trying.

My hair is thin (but I have a lot of it!) and my curls are very soft (I have 2C/3A/3B). I've tryed this method but I wasn't sure if it was going to work and OMG 😍 my curls were able to clump together even 3 days after my wash day! Mind you, I had to brush/braid/tie my hair because of work and even after that my hair was forming this beautiful clumps on its own 🤩 I'm currently transitioning againg and I feel like this video was very helpful 🥰

Love your results. Unfortunately, the Denman brush makes my curls a little stringy. I prefer the Behairful brush. I still use the Denman brush for certain styles.

My hair is EXACTLY the same as yours. I’ve been using my denman brush like that for the last few weeks and I discovered it by accident. I need to use more curling cream though as the ringlets go frizzy if I don’t 💓

so i have 2b-2c hair but its heat damaged in some sections. some of my curls are coming back (3a-3b curls) and i was wondering if this was going to help my hair but seeing ur results, i will definitely be buying this. thank u for the tutorial
This technique can most likely help a lot even though your hair is heat damage. You should definitely try it & I bet your hair is going to look amazing. Let me know how it goes 💕💕

My hair use to look like this until I stopped using Cantu. 🤣 it's not vegan so oh well, hopefully I'll find a close equivalent soon. I loved the definition it gave me. 😍 your hair is perfect.
Hey thanks! Have you seen bounce curl? They’re vegan. It’s a little pricey but the clump and define cream is similar to Cantu but works better and smells amazing. Also a little goes a long way it’s crazy. Also there are a ton of small businesses with amazing creams like Cantu.

Alice Runion hey Alice! Yes the denman brush is def helpful when you have different curl patterns!! This method helps a ton too. Usually when I’m home I wear my hair up but I also wear it down.

Your curls look so beautiful. Same if I use the denman brush like the other people I get 2c or 3a curls witch are fine but I know my hair can get to 3b curls that’s my curl pattern. I’m going to try it this way hope it does work for me.
