Woodturning with the Atomstack A30 Pro Laser Engraver!

In this week’s woodturning video, Harry and I were lucky enough to get an Atomstack A30 Pro Laser Engraver to test out. After assembly I’ve got to say this thing is a beast. The weight of it makes me believe it’s a sturdy machine.
Setup was simple and I had no issues getting it running with Lightburn.
I can see all sorts of potentials for using it in woodturning. A couple of these ideas I’ll cover in todays video.
Laser engraving wood on a flat rim platter or the bottom of a shallow bowl enhances the piece and adds a unique touch to any piece!
More exciting to me is all the various tools and templates you can create, such as the Fibonacci gauge to get perfect proportions on your woodturnings.
The butterfly or Pewa template will work great for adding bowties to cracked pieces. Check back later for a future video showing that in action! Only issue with a diode laser is that you can’t cut clear acrylic so black acrylic will have to do for now!
