Likely one of the best, if not the best, *meticulously break down, key (!), stroke EACH stage motion(s) if backhand. After watching this video and drill 100-dozen times, you are all set for back hand likely solid beginning intermediate level, except need to buy, I intend to, bird shooting machine, like table tennis robot, and need place like gymnasium, not easy to find and practice. I need to figure it out. Taking class is not much help as you have to play NOT systematic drills we need! Thanks U so very much indeed! USA
You are a rare TH-cam gem Mr. Prit Pachu! I've been trying this shot for more than a month but never succeeded in generating the power needed to hit. Only today I understood my mistake. I was doing my "Pre load" phase wrong. Now I am able to do it properly thanks to your brilliant video.
Great tutorial! Love it! The only thing I noticed that is a little contradictive is that your thumb is not at the bevel of the handle 58 seconds in, but you just explained that you should have the thumb at the bevel.
Kudos Sir! In sub 7 minutes you have made me re-organise my thinking about back hand stroke. You act also well. Midway you made one head movement of negation. One more point which all badminton coaches who post their videos on U tube is that add audio later. All badminton halls give echo. Dr. shekhar Paranjpe.
Furthy Thirtyfour hi yes I live in England. You can visit my website at www.titanathletics.co.uk. You can also email me at titan.athletics1@gmail.com if you wish to talk with me privately. Thank you for your nice comment :)
Yes exactly. And where you place your thumb depends on how far behind you you’re contacting the shuttle and also depends on whether you’re playing the shot straight or cross-court. See my BH cross courts video.
Interesting to see which elements were excised from the original video! I noticed that in this condensed version you're using more of a bevel grip (compared to having more of the thumb behind the racket in the original edit) >> what was your thinking behind this? Just a simplification?
Max Renn yes exactly. What I was trying to bring across is that you don’t use the flat part of the thumb along the adduction plane. That there is a little bit of a compromise in the force producing plane of movement as the shuttle gets further and lower behind you. In the most extreme situation, you would quite literally use the side of the thumb or more specifically, thumb extension which would necessitate the side of the thumb producing the force. But it got lost in translation. Then I reviewed the video as a whole and wasn’t happy with it. In fact all the videos with music will eventually be remastered. But these will not change like the backhand did. It’s the most complicated swing so I knew it wasn’t going to be perfect. Feedback also motivated me to change make the required changes so more people understand. I still don’t think I did a great job but in a compressed video (based on average viewing time) it’s hard to get it perfectly right. Thanks dude for your feedback. Much appreciated.
@@PritPachu For what it's worth, I think the teaching in your videos is so good that music is entirely superfluous. One thing that I wasn't clear on was the degree to which one should use the side of the thumb (as opposed to the pad) when using the bevel grip >> many thanks for clarifying this! As ever, looking forward to the next video.
