One thing to note for anybody shooting waves as well as surfing.. if you’re in heavy shorebreak or and heavy waves for that matter. You run the risk of losing DJI with quick release. Happened to my buddy most recent swell in so cal. Recommend getting waterproof housing
Very helpful clip!! This helped me decide buying Osmo4 instead GoPro for my first action camera for shooting myself in surfing. Your information that Osmo is compatible with GoPro mounts is really a good news for me!! Thanks a lot!!
Thanks for the info! I feel like I have been hearing a lot of positive reviews about the DJI and from your footage it does look to be the better of the two. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for the video! Have you considered some kind of head mount? I would really want to record videos from eye-view, but my skill is not good enough for bite mounts. I feel like I will lose the camera at some point.
I actually built a helmet "narwall" type mount lol. I looked ridiculous, but it was really cool. I actually use it on the first ever video for this channel. This one th-cam.com/video/yORlSMgQ_O8/w-d-xo.html
haha! Well I picked a good spot if you're surfing a point break. However when it's so close to the rail like I have it, it doesn't really work great if that camera is on the inside rail. So if you're mainly going one direction it works great.
They are removable, however they're ruined after you remove them. It's not ideal if you're going to continue to remove and put back on. Better to throw it on and leave it for awhile
Hmm I'm not sure exactly. I mean, you can crop any video to be vertical, but you'll lose pixels potentialy. Turning the camera vertical retains the full quality.

Oh there you go! Yea I wouldn't mess around without a floaty in heavy surf, that's for sure

Excellent to hear!! Yea it's great if your switching brands because they are compatible with each other
Watched it twice. Great comparison! 😳😳😳😁😁😁

@@LongboardSessions Thank you for the reply!
My immediate takeaway is I have my GoPro on the wrong spot of my longboard 😂 great positioning

Great video! Love the DJI Osmo
Thanks Maddie! Yea been great so far
also is the tether and their adhesion mount removable?

can you talk about the surfing combo they have I recently just purchased it I have no idea what the tether does
Well the tether is meant as a last resort to the camera popping off.
Longboard~incredible ,📹
Thanks!!
Nice! Thanks Brian🤙🤙😎
Thanks Adam!!
Does it come with a bite mount
The combo package I got did come with one. But I think if you just buy the camera itself it doesn't
Doesnt the gopro let you crop vertically anytime as it has a squarer sensor?

So do I not get a floaty then? (Thanks for this review btw it’s perfect) x
Well it kinda depends on how you're going to use it. If you're going to go with bite mount in landscape only, floaty is the way to go!
What do you think which camera is the best for surfing in cold water?
Oh wow I have no idea! Maybe I'll have to test out during our winter
GoPro 9 since it doesn't get water drops tbh... Was considering dji but horrible waterdrops are a def no for me.
Very interesting. I didn't have too much trouble with water drops, but I have seen people complain about that
