Man... Brother, this is what I have always tried to sing like and you made it look so easy. Going through your starter material because I want to hit those high blues notes. Well done my man.
So happy to have confirmation of my theory on the vocal benefits of blues singing!!! I've found that some of my biggest vocal breakthroughs have been when singing along to various blues artists.
I have always loved the Blues but I've never had the confidence to even try to sing the Blues. But here the thing, I think you just showed me how to let the Monster loose! TY
4:09 mate... you sang the names of the intervals. Not sure if this was deliberate but it is f****** brilliant. Really highlights how those intervals sound. Omg thank you.
HOW DO YOU ALWAYS KNOW WHAT I'M THINKING?!?! Seriously, it's like every other video is made per my request and, frankly, it's starting to freak me out a tad.
@@chrisliepe Man, I don't know which dark arts you're practicing but it's proving so beneficial for my singing that I don't much care. Happy new year and thanks ever so much for the progress I've been making since I came across your channel in 2019. You have a way of teaching that I've never seen on a YT channel. God bless you, man. Sincerely.,
Yeah, this is really timely. I just got an acoustic guitar for Christmas. Never owned one before. Looking to get into acoustic blues. Been a primarily metal player all my life.
Damn, you just singing a scale sounds better than me singing a song lol, great stuff, sound like a lot subtle bend going in to the notes? Oh you got to the major thirds was waiting for that as I know my theory and am a blues guitarist mostly getting more in to my vocals, so thanks for. A great lesson, a, blown away.
Nice observations! I love it when theory guys and guitar players watch my videos. There's so much vocally that I pull from guitar playing... all the time :)
Awesome Chris. Totally agree. When I was younger I took from these greats. It also helps when you've gone through some bad experiences in your life. I like screwing around, trying to do the guitar leads with my voice.....lol!! Blues is a killer path to develop Dynamics.
I sing the blues allll the time. I use the Smule Sing! app periodically to record myself. I’ve been told I sound like a mix between Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, and Bonnie Raitt.
Hi Chris, great video and exercise here, really helpful - can you direct me to any vid's of yours/others/advice on how to 'rough-up' the higher pitch for blues singing and help me not sound like a choir boy! (head voice) cheers!
Hey Chris, So much good stuff here! Thank you. I've been checking out your videos and was wondering if you were interested in doing a How to sing like Jim Morrison at some point. I've been looking all over for some in depth explanation of his style but can't really seem to find any. Would be immensely appreciated. Cheers.
What do you think black gospel singing, I always thought Chris Cornell had his main inspiration from those singers. Especially in his Temple of the dog era.
Just a thought. But maybe panic at the discos cover of into the unknown. How to hit those notes well. I can do it for the first two choruses and then it’s like my voice just doesn’t have that range at all from there on out.
As in you can’t find the email? Check your junk or spam or promotions folder. I also don’t send you the video. Just links to the videos over a period slightly less than a week
Hey chris, great video! btw there's this song in your intro that's been in all of your videos and it's killing me because I think I know it, but I can't figure out what song it is! it goes like "It's all for the love~" what song is it??
Ok so just sing the scale and that's it? I'll practice that but i doubt it will be enough to be near as good as you did. One must learn to sing like the guitar. Maybe piano can help but guitar probably is better. What i mean is being able to sing the quarter bend (not half, not full, but quarter). I don't know how to explain it well but i think this is what gives the blues feel. That very slightly bent note
Random question: what app are you using on your iPad? I haven’t found a way to capture an external video feed on iPad, and it looks like you might have a good solution.
If you join my course, you can have access to ALL these backing tracks :) Follow the link in the video info to join my "Free Your Voice" course and keep an eye on your Email!
@@chrisliepe great, I will be joining sometime soon. I already done the free course and I was really really impressed. Thanks alot you are a great teacher.
Got a question, i sing for a rock band and i will get headaches while singing and screaming. And it feels like my head is gonna explode on stage sometimes. Ive tried working on my breathing making sure im not holding my breath. But it still happens, this might be a stupid question but its very frustrating, any ideas why?
As a Blues fan I approve of what you said in the beginning
True, that's tha blues baby 😎
when the music is talking, you don't need words..
We all have to pay respect for the blues which birthed the style for rock music. Aggressive yet soulful. 💖💖

Thanks, Chris, this is my go-to music, also rhythm and blues, well anything that's bluesy.

You're welcome!
Bravo!!! I enjoyed it very much! Thank you!
It'd be insane if you did a sing like Jesse James Dupree (from Jackyl). His voice is legendary and so underrated.
Great stuff man, its really helping me

Janel Bernotas What your name on Smule I’m on there as well
I tried Smule before, didn't really like the format I guess. Maybe because I'm so used to Starmaker. I'll have to give it another chance.
Josh Witthoft dooo ittt!! I’m the opposite, I hated Star Maker.
Can you post Smule recordings on TH-cam or Facebook?
Damn. That's a pretty wicked mix to have! Awesome.
BRAVO! BRAVO!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Ahhhh you are brilliant!

Thanks @@chrisliepe !
I really would like to see a video about how Oliver Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon sings
Blues style is easiest for me, don’t know why
If someone doesn't love one after such a vocal performance, then they aren't worth it!
There's many ways to love so therefore it might not be in the same way. 😢
I would love if you anylised demon hunters voice.

Have you joined my free course linked in the video description? I can help you dial in the support necessary to start to sing like this!
I actually have heard vibrato used in the blues.

What is this backing track? I’ve been trying to find it.
It’s in one of my courses :) Discover Your Voice! :)
3rds are so Alice in chains
Why he bit sounds like Cornell
Why are you green screened?
I don't use any green screens. what are you seeing that makes you think otherwise?
Vibrato is not good for the blues. Although it's good overw. Thanks
Have you got Instagram
No not yet :)
Kifflom?
Kifflom uncle, brother
This sounds more like modern pop music than blues.
