    What a GREAT technique Chris for all the reasons you explain. The biggest bonus for me is that I now have an antidote to chronic mouth, jaw and tongue tension. Feeling the water vibrate was like a sonic bath for my mouth, though dribbling till I got the hang of it wasn't a good look :) Once I've switched on all the nerve receptors and pathways I reckon this will work for me as a virtual exercise as well. Biggest thankyou.

    I have an idea for a lesson! Background vocals! I sing lead in one of my bands, and I sing background in an 80's band in which I play lead guitar. I have to sing higher than the lead vocalist like Michael Anthony does (did) in Van Halen. Some advice on techniques for singing like Michael Anthony or the Damn Yankees would be greatly appreciated! I'm sure a lot of musicians would benefit from it, as many background vocalists are not the "strong" singers like the lead vocalist, but often have to sing some challenging parts! Your lessons and demonstrations are great, thank you!

    Hello Chris!
    First, let me apologize for posting this comment under a couple of your videos but it's veeery important to me and I've been looking for an answer to this question for years and am inhumanly frustrated so I really wanted your attention 😅
    I know that you usually don't take requests but could you make a video about what I think is a really important topic?:
    Early vs Late briding and how to make your mixed voice beefier? (I know that you made videos on how to make your mix beefier but it's not exactly what I'm talking about - I also mean tone wise)
    A perfect example of this is a song sang by two different vocalists of Iced Earth(notice the very obvious difference in tone when they sing "the blood is the life" - Barlow sings it much closer to how Chris Cornell would sing it and Stu Block seems to be using more of a Halford/Falsetto approach)
    This is the beefy one(Barlow):
    th-cam.com/video/Z_B5EfshvO0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XqBwnngp34ivQq7N
    And this is the weaker one(Block)
    th-cam.com/video/so99F-1DbOk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hrjRH2CcWDXwapCw
    I don't think it solely comes down to their voice types as it is evident that Barlow puts in a lot more of his chest voice
    Almost like reaches down for it
    I also think that Cornell did it too hence his vocals had that "weight" that's very hard to replicate
    If you or anyone has any insight on how to do it please feel free to let me know
    Thank you

  • @pablomolla7387
    @pablomolla7387 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Beber un poco de agua ( lo suficiente para poder hablar aunque con ciertas dificultades) y cantar 4:45. Esto sirve para darte cuenta de lo que significa cantar "forward". Te previene de pegar la lengua a la parte inferior de la boca y a los dientes inferiores y por tanto de mantenerla tensa, hay que dejarla un poco elevada y no tensa. También hay que relajar la mandíbula porque si no se sale el agua.
    Cuando piensas en vibrar el agua, debajo de tu lengua, con tu voz estás cantando "forward" 6:03, ya que sitúas tu resonancia hacia adelante. La producción de vocales y su resonancia es forward, la de las consonantes no, porque el agua nos ayuda a centrarnos en las vocales, después de tragar el agua podemos recordar la sensación para producir una gran resonancia en las vocales así como en las consonantes (8:00).
    Hacer lo que hace en 9:10 y notar como vibra el agua en mi boca, si no vibra es que me estoy "tragando mis notas" y no cantando hacia adelante.
