  • With the news that Simon Gallup has left The Cure, I had to do a reaction to talk about it. Two goth rock legends splitting, for the second time might I add. Sad news for many Cure fans.
    Thanks for watching!

Oh Nick!!! NOW You're bring out the heavy hitters. Wish was my "break-up" album , from my first serious relationship. So many songs on this classic Cure album are hymns for heatbroken lovers. Full of the bittersweet sadness, of Love' Easy Tears.
Wish came out in 1992. I had moved up to Manchester to live with my boyfriend.... but sadly we were doomed from the start. So this gorgeous lament by Mr Smith captured my tears perfectly & whilst Mr Smith was of course singing about losing the girl. I could consol myself that the pain of lost love is universal , gay , str8 , bi , whatever. We all seek & loose love at sometime or other. And on Wish Mr Smith captures those tears perfectly in his bittersweet lyrics , while the band create this , lovely almost wistful melody to ease the heartache.
As always , a superb reaction video...
And some groovy goth shuffling there Mr Nick.
    As often Im.gonna request a Cocteau Twin's song , this time Love's Easy Tears...🖤

When you said, "I love that.." during the guitar rise.. yes. Me too.🥰

And every time I try to pick it up
    Like falling sand
As fast as I pick it up
It runs away through my clutching hands

Love this band, this album and this song. And I'm so glad Simon Gallup returned to the band. I've seen Them twice and they were amazing both times. The Cure live would not be the same without Simon on the stage.

My God, Robert makes you feel the heartbreak in every word. Powerful lyrics, and the layering of the music heightens the emotions too. The Cure are awesome!

Yea, maybe I got it wrong, but it looked like you enjoyed the rising guitar riff in the middle third. It's "slightly" out of place in the song, but adds texture and some hope. Great job, thanks!

Wow re Simon. Who can say really except those 2 Robert and Simon. Simon left about a decade ago for health reasons and returned about 18 months later, kinda extended leave . Soo... they do have much history. It's gotta be hard working with someone for so long

You should react to 'Throw your foot' by the cure! an unreleased rarity, shows off more of their experimental side but oddly one of my favourites!

My favorite Cure song is the one that sounds on the album just before this (Trust), very sad!.

Haha, Nick, I do agree on 99.9% you are saying on your channel... but this song reminds you of Kokomo by the Beach Boys...? You can´t be serious :-)

The tropical sound I get from the chorus just reminds me of Kokomo, it's probably because I've listened to a lot of The Beach Boys.

So where's that new album (or 2 or 3) we were promised 2 years ago that was in the final mixing stages? Is it a myth?
