Can you please review A Series Of Unfortunate Events on Netflix. Season 3 just came out, like a month ago but whatever, and I need you to review it plezzzz
I think Luther is a really interesting depiction of how an emotional abusive childhood can really stunt the emotional growth of a person. Luther looks like a man but has the emotional capacity of a child. This is an interesting mirror character to Five, who looks like a child but has the emotional capacity of a 58 year old man. Anyway, I don’t think Luther quite deserves all the hate.
you forgot about the part where klaus accidentally travels back in time and SERVES in the vietnam war and meets a guy that he's in love with who dies like damn this series got pretty wack ngl
There's also this implication that there haven't been any recent wars because the VFW guy doesn't believe that Klaus is a veteran because he's too young.
You can’t really blame Allison for how she treated Vanya growing up because that’s how they were raised. He literally forced Allison to use her powers when they were like 5 year olds. Allison is the only one who’s actively trying to reconnect and treat her like family.
ikr, you can’t be angry at allison for something she was forced to do when she was 4. like any other 4 year old, she had no idea what she was doing - so people being angry at her because of that is just stupid
@@rubyhhh2715 Well she knew that leaving Vanya out of everything was wrong yet she still went along with the brothers leaving of her out of everything during the show... Also just trying to reconnect with Vanya now doesn't make up for all the years of being secluded. She was going to snap eventually.
@L.B. You missed my point completely... my point was about Vanya going crazy the second she discovered her powers. Especially after finding out her family were the one surpressing her power while also leaving her out of everything. Alisson trying to reconnect with her now wouldn't change that.
Ditto, Diego and Grace's relationship was one of the most sweetest things to watch in Season 1, making it all the more heartbreaking when he has to switch her off at the end of the third episode. I hope that they'll bring Grace back next season, as she was a far better parent to the siblings than Reggie ever was!😊
Not sure if it's mentioned but Hazel has a briefcase in his hand and seems to teleport just before the final blast. So he and the doughnut lady totally survive.
I love how the shit parenting affects all the characters in different ways. like you can see how different aspects of everyone's personality are a result of childhood trauma.
@@emenau8984 diegos isn't that sad if you ask me. The sadest back story is between vanya and Klaus, Luther after them. You don't have to like Luther, but his back story and why he went to the moon is kinda sad. Like he believed in his dad so much, literally spent his life for his dad, only to be sent to the moon for no reason like garbage.
I know right like so what you wasted 4 years of your life on another planet for absolute nothing just because your father didn't know what to do with you , like get over it dude
@@erenmademewritethis9833 Ikr your childhood was suppressed and your powers were hidden and you were shunned because you weren't special, like get over it PS others had way traumatic life thaan Luther and btw he wanted to go to the moon
I already finished The Umbrella Academy not even a week ago and I started rewatching it, but here I am, on TH-cam watching a nearly 20 minutes video about it
For everyone saying its one of the siblings's fault about how Vanya turned out and how she caused the apocalypse, you're wrong. Don't get me wrong I hate Luther just as much as you do, but lets be real like the real villain is Hargreeves. If he wasn't such an absolute piece of garbage who actually gave them a loving and comfortable childhood and even life in general NONE of this would have happened. All of the academy are messed up and traumatized in some sort of way and thats whats causing their actions. It doesn't matter whether Luther locked up Vanya after she slit Allisons throat she would have caused the apocalypse anyway, what matters is if Hargreeves was already giving them the childhood any child deserves and never made one feel less special than another then this would just be an ordinary tale about siblings with superpowers.
This show really opened my eyes to how fucked up I am like my family is extremely dysfunctional so I knew it was a bad sign I related to the show and not to mention I have the same personality and worse trauma than Klaus so I’m just scared for my future
The apocalypse will always happen if Vanya doesn't learn to control her powers. It's not completely her fault because this must have been scary for her to learn that she was actually the most powerful person there and she can't even get the years of training like her siblings did.
Alison lost custody of Claire because she continuously used her powers to the point that Patrick didn't approve. The "I hear a rumor, that you were tired" was the final straw for Patrick. He wasn't okay with the idea that his daughter's free-will was taken away. It made him question how Alison could be fine with manipulating her loved ones and it probably made him realise that their marriage was rumored. Also how could Klaus not work for you all the time. Robert Sheerhan was amazing.
What Allison did a lot of parents wished they could do. Was it wrong? Yes, but she owned up to that and unlike everyone else in the damn show she is trying to change! She is the ONLY one who realizes she's flawed and wants to fix it which is why she refused to use her powers. So many things in the show would've been a lot easier if she just gave in and took the easy way out but she didn't. She never did anything that put Claire in danger. I wish people would stop acting like she told the girl to jump off a bridge, she's not some devil for what she did.
Paula E For me Alison did nothing wrong really, he daughter was being really annoying so much I was lookin at the screen like “MF SHUT UP SHE SAID NO” 😂😂
He's interesting cause he's dead and we barely see him other than him reprimanding Klaus, and actually being materialized back by Klaus during the last ep.
All I know is Klaus and Five are my favorites, no doubt. They make this show; the rest of them can get on your nerves from time to time (excluding Ben). I personally despise Luther. He's so stupid. I do think it's kind of cool that little Allison is in TWO of the biggest shows out right now: The Handmaid's Tale and The Umbrella Academy. She's getting so much work these days!
But, Ben is a good character as well. He saved Diego and Klaus and he always made sure Klaus wasn’t on drugs. He would always inspire Klaus to stay strong!!
I agree too, Vanya was also a favorite for me too in the beginning but then she went all evil. Hopefully she redeemed herself but I mean I don’t blame her.
@Akuma Tokkou adopted siblings. While there are occasions these type do get married irl, doesn't mean this doesn't come off creepier at times. Best way to think it off as childhood friends, even which I've got mixed feelings about.
@Akuma Tokkou I disagree. Allison's kid calls luther "uncle." Their relationship is way creepy also regarding that they both call the same man "dad" disregarding if he was a good parent or not.
@Akuma Tokkou If you're kid call the person your sleeping with uncle.... then theres something wrong. People dont need to get it in their heads that sleeping with your adopted siblings is okay.
Luther: ISFJ, warm, considerate *shoves his marginalised sister in a locked cell with no explanation whatsoever and attacks her on the happiest night of her life*
@Dylan Rodrigues the nannies part is the only thing thats a no no, even with her being a kid and all. Everything afterwards was pretty tame and avoidable by said other party, her bf was an ass and Allyson was kinda inconsiderate.
He completely catalysed the end of the world. Every other sibling wanted to let Vanya out it was on Luther and his idiot self who caused Vanyas breakdown
I mean Luther did have a reason for locking Vanya in the cell. That being that she was gonna end the world and that her power was too powerful and she slit Allison’s throat.
If Luther didn't lock Vanya up, and actually listen to her and help her. Rather than acting like a B, they would've stopped the apocalypse. Instead of 5 taking them all back to fix Vanya.
If Vanya didn't through a temper tantrum and cut her sisters throat he wouldn't have locked her up. Lets not forget about the 3 nanny's Vanya killed because she didn't want to eat oatmeal. She is a bad person who acts like it's everyone fault but hers that she is the way she is. Before anyone claims she was traumatized lets not forget Klaus was also locked up as a child and he didn't kill anyone or cut his sisters throat. So I don't like Vanya she is a villain who acts like a victim.
If Hargreeves wasn't such a prick to his children from day one, there wouldn't be an apocalypse to stop. Or, at the very least, they would have Vanya on their side and be an actual well functioning team if the apocalypse did still occur.
Vanya and Allison, Klaus and Ben are the only duos I'll accept. Out of all the siblings Allison is the only one who owned up to her treatment of Vanya and tried to be better and fix things - she tried to change things. Even in the last episode she never let her go, despite her sister almost ya know KILLING HER she never let her go. And I mean...Ben followed Klaus through a whole ass war. Even when Klaus is annoying Ben he doesn't leave him alone. Best siblings, can't change my mind.
i thought Allison was really lovely. she says some shit things (so does Vanya, siblings be like that sometimes) but boy i can really see she’s trying, she’s putting in SO much effort to repair relationships with Vanya to no avail also i think it’s so cute how Klaus brings up Ben when it’s not necessary. he’s around in Klaus’ world, even if he’s not on anyone else’s mind at that moment
That Rumor power is dope AF! As a mom and big sister I found her relatable. She was like 4 when her dad used her powers on Vanya. Plus since they got back together as adults all she was trying to do was be a good big sister
@@torrix_4595 I would easily take klaus power.. (Spoiler alert) As you can see in the last episode of season 1 He can make ghost use their power, Meaning that he can basically have more than 1 power if the others just die
*Spoilers I’m waaaaarning!!* I love Klaus’ storyline. His addictions weren’t just thrown in to give him character, you find out later that the reason he’s turned to drugs is to deal with the trauma of being locked with those bodies as a child, he was scared of the dead and him being locked with those bodies and seeing those spirits traumatised him. Then getting kidnapped and tortured, and I might have missed something but it seemed to me that literally no one cared about that. Then as soon as he escapes, he gets thrown into the Vietnam war, falls in love with a man, then watches him die. He went through all of this stuff and then still, held it all together, but apparently not having a power that ruins your life is bad enough to warrant slicing your sisters throat and ending the world according to Vanya
I haven't seen the show but u got the feeling silicon . Her throat was an accident? Like "shut up oh shit I just cut you." Also the power itself might be making her go crazy.
It wasn't her not having a power it was how she was treated bc she didn't have a power. She was treated as less important and even though she didn't go through physical abuse, being neglected like that is emotional abuse, which is what controls her powers. All of the repressed emotions came out all at once since it had been bottled up for so long. Also I don't blame her at all for accidentally slitting Allison's throat. It wouldn't have happened if Alison hadn't tried to use her own power on her. If there was one wrong decision in that moment it was Allison trying to control her when she just found out that her entire life she had been controlled by the doctor without her even knowing it. I just think it's silly to compare their two situations bc Klaus and vanya were probably the most abused as children only in different ways. Plus it's not like Klaus came back and told everyone he went back in time to Vietnam. What I don't get is why they left her in that locked room. It was pretty much Allison, Diego, and Klaus all against Luther, who was the only one who wanted to lock her up. Also Luther wouldn't listen to Allison when she said they should try to talk to vanya at the concert. I think being the golden child and #1 has given Luther a God complex and he sees himself above all of his siblings. He was the least abused and probably the most praised as a child.
Troye Padalecki I looked it up nothing has been confirmed yet but two guys said that Jussie had paid them ! It's a shame as I was very concerned for him when it happened !
There was a girl at my elementary school who was super talented & she played her violin at our talent show. It was so good and her focus was damn near demonic. But literally nobody gave a shit 😔🤦🏾♂️ after everybody cast their vote she came in 4th 😡
OneAwkwardBoi _ okay. so here’s what i kinda picked up on. each kid has their own Psychy problem. luther has arrogance. that’s obvi through the whole series. diego has separation anxiety/depression. you can see this because he’s scared to get close with his siblings now that they’re all together again. and he was so against turning grace off. and patch was his final loss before he lets himself open up to anyone. allison. don’t sue me or kill me for saying this. but i think her “deal” may be a very mild form of Tourette’s. and i only day this because at times she can control it, but at others, like with claire, she just kinda slipped up. but that could be dead wrong. klaus has a drug addiction. and he basically told us why in the show. due to PTSD and the fact that he literally sees dead people. now 5. i think he has either OCD or schizophrenia. mostly because he’s obsessing over one thing and not focusing on anything else. he believes that a mannequin is his wife and is talking to him. this leading to my schizo theory. now ben, i’m not really sure. i don’t know enough about him. but i feel like it could possibly be depression. but that would depend on how he died... and finally Vanya. bipolar disorder. i say this because 1. she was placed on mood stabilizers. but 2. because as soon as she stopped taking them (forcibly i should add) everything started changing for her. before that she was just one big mood of boring. stick to the schedule. don’t deviate. blah blah blah. but she stops taking them and bang. every emotion is there and they’re all crazy and she can’t control them. eventually causing the end of the world. but that’s just me making up theories that could all be totally wrong.
Laney Cermak Alrightt that's exactly what we're NOT going to do and start romanticizing EXTREMELY HORRIBLE MENTAL DISORDERS TO FICTIONAL TV SHOW CHARACTERS
Laney Cermak just becaue they do one thing does not mean they have a mental disorder. I dont think diego has deppresion he has no signs of that.he just doesnt like getting close to people and when he does he gets super attached. Allison didnt “slip up” when she did it to her daughter.she did it on purpose clearly.five didnt stress over tiny things. The apocalypse was just about to happen so he was just stressed in general. Him talking to the manikin doesn’t show schizophrenia. He was just alone for 30 years I needed something even slightly human to comfort him. Vania just had a lot going on and it was too much for her to handle. Her dad put on mood stabilizers because of her powers he wanted to keep them a secret and thoes would help do that. She acted like that because she just found out something completely life-changing that was being hidden from her her entire life. Which is going to cause a lot of emotions and she doesn’t know how to handle them.
Bumble Bee Zero - five is supposed to start aging tho. the only reason he showed up as a child was because from when he time traveled to the apocalypse he didn't age cause he just skipped time
I think the whole point was that no matter what they changed the apocalypse was going to happen one way or another. For example the first time around they didn't have Five, thus they didn't even know there was going to be an apocalypse nor that a guy named Harold Jenkins was going to cause it. What we see is that they all died together (except Five of course) in the same place and that Luther had a bloody glass eye in his hand. My theory is that they never even realised Vanya was in danger with Leonard/Harold and Harold showed her that she had powers and somehow made her angry at her siblings for treating her the way they did and so they went to the academy to confront the siblings and things got out of hand and boom apocalypse. The second time around they had Five. That's how they found out the message to the assassins was to "Protect Harold Jenkins." making them think he was going to cause the apocalypse. Doing their research on him resulted in them finding out that Leonard is Harold. That's why Allison went after Vanya to warn her, and that's why Vanya slit Allison's throat. Vanya then confronted Leonard/Harold then killed him and that is when the message to the assassins changed to "Protect Vanya Hargreeves.". Leonard was no longer a direct cause of the apocalypse but only a trigger. All these events resulted in Luther finally locking her up because he thought her to be dangerous (which she was) which made Vanya cause the apocalypse in the end. But if you stop to think for a moment, if Five never told them about Harold, they never would've found out that Leonard is actually a criminal, Allison never would've gone there to warn Vanya, she never would've gotten hurt, thus Luther never would've gotten so mad. Also, if Allison never told the truth to Vanya about Leonard she never would've killed Leonard meaning that she had no reason to go back to the house and get locked up (also Luther wouldn't lock her up if she never hurt Allison, and he wouldn't even know she had any powers or that she was remotely dangerous). I hope you see the point I'm trying to make here. Also there was this other alternate timeline where Five came back but then when he went away with the Commission lady he didn't come back (you know where there was all the Luther/Allison dance and all that) and then Vanya found the journal of Reginald Hargreeves in Leonard's things, that might have caused the apocalypse. Or Leonard talked himself out because this time around Vanya had no idea that he was lying about everything (his identity, etc.) it might have just been a coincidence the he had the journal and poor Vanya as we see is so easily manipulated. Maybe after that she would've gone home to confront the others to find out if they knew that she's had powers all along, then she would've found out that Pogo knew, got mad and boom again. No matter what they do, how they do it, when they do it, Vanya is always going to find out about her powers at some point which she obviously cannot control, she would've gotten furious about something anyway because she was so alone and neglected all her life and the apocalypse always would've happened. That's why the ending of the season makes the perfect sense. Going back a few days and trying to for example not lock her up wouldn't change a thing, she would've lost it anyways. The only thing that makes sense is stop Vanya from ever having all that suppressed pain inside her and/or teach her to control her powers at a young age. That is just my perspective on the matter though, I am open to any theories. It's just that blaming it all on Luther seems kind of silly regarding everything we see and learn on the show.
Am I the only one who really likes allison. I mean through the whole series she is the only one who tries to include Vanya and actually be a sister to her.
Agree completely, she's not my favourite but I do like her, I have no reason to not like her honestly. Not really a fan of her 'relationship' with Luther though. But I like her
I hate that she likes Luther because Luther is my least favorite sibling. And now (I haven’t watched season 2) Allison can’t even talk, so all the talking is left to him and he doesn’t even try to listen to her.
Honestly, people underappreciated her. Like she's probably one of the only one who treated her siblings well like vanya and klaus, not to mention her part on the activist movement is just awsome. But her relationship with luther just ruined it. I wish they could've just have a strong siblings bond, instead of the obvious romantic one
I feel like it’s because of Luther’s irrationnal behaviour towards Vanya that the world got destroyed. I mean, even Allison forgave her, even thouhg she cut her throat... That’s why I don’t like him
It's everyones fault in their own way. The father for being such a shitty father. Luther locked her up. Allison decided to stun her/take away her hearing (maybe permanent maybe temporary idk) making the shot go to the moon. Five for not realizing it was Vanya sooner. Vanya was being a bitch and never moved on properly. "Leonard" could've not done what he did and so on. I think the only ones that didn't really do anything directly wrong was Klaus and Ben. Especially Ben. And oh yeah, Diego was behaving worse towards Vanya than the others.
@@cassiess my least favorite is Allison, Five, Klaus and Ben are my favorite characters. I do agree with Colgan12 though in which Vanya is the most fleshed out and best character story wise
She is the character i most felt for. I'm so glad they didn't follow the comic book because she was trying to be there for her family and still tried nearly till the very end, and all they did was ignore her, throw her out, or treat her like a threat. While everyone else were a solo act (when fighting), or treated each other like a partner instead of family, and using "family" as a means to get a task done.
Klaus is the favourite for a reason. Mainly cuz of Robert Sheehan’s performance. Genuinely one of the best actors about. If u haven’t seen it u need to watch him on misfits.
Klaus is my favourite character because of how interesting and intricate he is. Plus, I kinda relate to him.. bc of the whole family problems and not being able to sleep and stuff..
I hate Allison... SHE DOESN'T USE HER FREAKING POWERS LIKE IF I HAD THOSE POWERS I WOULD MAKE A DONUT SHOP OWNER TO GIVE ME ALL HIS DONUTS!!!! Edit: I love her dis a joke:')
My favorites were 1. Klaus, 2. Diego, and 3. Five. After them, I also liked Allison, Ben(I hope we see more of him), and Vanya. Luther actions make perfect sense for his character but still, he was very frustrating to watch.
I think in the comics they say that all these time travelling assassins have enhanced powers on the strength department too. I understand the confusion as they do not clearly say it out loud in the show. But also it's more like those shows where you have to keep up and figure out the clues yourself and I prefer it that way.
Yea, that was a bit confusing. Since, on one hand, dude can break apart a 10 ton statue with a single punch, walk off a chandelier his own size falling on him, yet Hazel could put up a fight. But, like nori7 said. He might have enhanced abilities, I mean, Cha Cha survived flying out of a car upon hitting the brakes, breaking out of handcuffs and still having a functional hand, and having the shit beaten out of her, multiple times. So...I don't think it's necessarily realistic to call them 'humans' as they're on par with Punisher, and Daredevil on that department.
I really liked The Rumor. I mean Ali was hip to the dude who was going to influence Vanya at the beginning, was the only sibling who rele still wanted to talk to her, and was trying to protect Vanya. Idk why she gets so much hate. I mean her and Luther is whatever but she was arguably a character that tried to do the right thing. She was the only one who was 100% for Vanya not being put in the vault 💁🏽♀️ But yeah Luther is the worst.
Zach Arbogast she ended being more dangerous when he locked her up. I seen a lot of these before. The bad guys is pushed over the edge of redemption by the good guy.
@@panda-panda757 Luther was a fucking idiot 🙄 easily thr worst character. Like locking up the strongest one of y'all with emotionally influenced powers wasn't the wave. That was a recipe for disaster. Then surprise surprise the apocalypse is back on 💀
@Zach Arbogast - I feel like putting her in the cage was the worst possible decision to make. Who locks up an emotionally unstable person with the power to cause the end of the world, making them see you as an enemy and thinks that’s the best course of action?? I mean she didn’t come back there with a hostile attitude or the intent to use her powers to destroy everyone. I feel like if Luther had just taken a second to consider her situation where she has newfound powers that she can’t control but probably does want to learn how to use so that she doesn’t hurt anyone unintentionally like she did with Allison again, instead of automatically seeing her as a threat and only a threat, they could have avoided the whole thing
I didn't like allison and luther together, especially since she referred to him as "uncle luther" when talking to her daughter ;^; Also he was kind of the worst ://///
Completely agree. I like Allison, don't really like Luther but their relationship is so odd and so unnecessary in my opinion. There were raised together too? Being in a relationship is so odd, I don't like it.
That true😭😭😭. They grew up as siblings everyone referred to them as siblings, they call each other BROTHER and SISTER, and then 😭😭😭they....they........kissed. I'm through
@@MrAgentTurner klaus wasnt using his full potential in the show. Ghost daddy already said that. Besides didn't Vanya have like.. 5 different powers? Laser blasts, telekenisis, shockwaves, magneto powers, and the power to have a forehead bigger than mega minds.
I can't believe how people don't understand how emotionally and physically unstable Vanya is when she does this stuff. She literally couldn't control herself and then people kept doing stuff that made it even worse. Like, can you imagine if you got abused that much as a child and then randomly found out you had superpowers that basically exploded out of you because you stopped taking your medication. Not to mention the fact that they're all alien beings with a different psychology and neurology than humans so it's even harder for her to control her emotions? If this was a normal human, I'd understand if you couldn't understand why she did the things that she did or dislike her, but seriously. You literally can't even imagine what it'd be like to be her. I'm so happy they decided to save her at the end and help her when they go back in time as children instead of just killing her
EXACTLY. I don't understand all the Vanya hate about her needing to be more understanding like SHE TRIED OK. SHE TRIED SO HARD. She is in a really, really unstable place and needs love and affection not being locked in a cage indefinitely. And also yeah I do like how they took her with, I thought that it showed that there was hope for them as a family.
@Storm Cranford well if they go back to time and have a better family she won't have all these problems she has now. That's most likely what Five thought
I liked Luther in the first episodes but he is some bs. The team would have been better without him. In some wikia it is written that havegreens gave them their numbers according to their power rank and now that I've seen the show I think he numbered them backwards.
ive got sooooo many mixed/negative feelings about luther. he has a lot of this unchecked rage at his dad that he throws at Vanya and i feel like if his siblings weren't there to tell him it was wrong he probably would've kept her in that cage and fed her pills for the rest of her life.
@@ellis1469 true, but it could have similarly been avoided if Luther just tried to handle things better instead of just knocking vanya out and leaving her alone in a room.
I felt that got really repetetive after the veteran bar. I really hoped he would prove to the veterans that he was in the war himself with pictures etc. Would be a funny scene and I think it would connect Klaus and Diego more
we will! in the upcoming season he's been promoted to series regular, so he's going to get just as much screen time as the other siblings, unlike the few scenes we saw him in in season one. he'll probably get his own arc and everything, and as klaus' powers get more developed and controllable, we'll see a ton of ben's powers.
I really don't think you are nitpicky. I thought the exact same thing, from Luther being stupid for being so overdramatically loyal to Reginald to 'go, Diego, go!' :'D (Diego is my personal favorite of the group anyways). I mean... what kind of betrayal did Luther do? He literally crushed Vanya's little form until she fell unconscious, just to throw her into a cell, so she could go crazy and start a murder rampage, because she feels betrayed and alone...
Guys, I have a theory: The name Moto has 4 letters. You say that name 2 times 2*4 is 8. He also says "I like them big; I like them chunky" which is 8 words. If you tilt 8 horizontally, it becomes an UA mask. Moto Moto is the 8th student/sibling. I've broken the code.
I been really enjoying Umbrella Academy mostly because its weird and different. For anyone who likes Umbrella Academy i think you will also like Doom Patrol. Just a suggestion :)
I’m telling you, Luther’s the real villain of the show. That scene where Vanya gets locked up tries to portray Luther as the rational one and the others as emotional because it’s their sister, but really Luther wasn’t the one thinking straight, he was just butt hurt that Vanya hurt Allison. He also betrayed Allison when she begged him to talk to Vanya alone because she thought she wasn’t strong enough to handle it. And after all of that, he wanted to LEAVE VANYA BEHIND because “she was the reason why the apocalypse started”. Even when everyone realised they were wrong about her the entire time, he still couldn’t see past his own interests. I really hope he redeems himself in season 2, otherwise I’m gonna be really mad
I don't think the show was trying to portray Luther as rational. He's just as screwed up as the rest of the siblings, it's just that the abuse he suffered as a child conditioned him into thinking he always had to be rational and be a decisive person. Plus, put yourself in his shoes. You just found out someone almost killed the person you love the most. He's not going to think rationally. People always shit on Luther, but he's really one of the most interesting characters. I do hope he becomes smarter and learns to heal, just like the rest of his siblings, in S2.
_ xlampix I didn’t mean the show wanted him to be “the rational one” the entire season, for me it was just one of those cases where he wanted to show the others that Vanya was a threat while they were just guilty because she was their sister (idk if I’ve made myself clear). As for putting myself in his shoes, I get it that he’d be extremely upset, but if my sibling tried to kill the other I wouldn’t lock the other one up while they were screaming out for help and saying “I’m sorry” multiple times, I’d probably find a way to help them. Idk for me that scene changed his entire personality, because he was supposed to be the caring, but damaged type of character, but when Vanya was screaming and crying and Allison “asked” for Luther to let her go, he was very emotionless and took no one’s feelings into consideration rather than his own. (Btw this is my opinion, you’re entitled to have your own, just thought I’d explain myself)
I love the way you describe the show. It is a bit like having a buffet with bits of food from different restaurants but it comes together to make a delicious combination.
that cos she was taking mood suppressing pills. she's the character where depression becomes their identity, but that's kind of important to the plot. After she ditched the pills, she opened up interesting sides of herself. And plus, she has the coolest power in my opinion. I just hate how they executed her in the show.
I might be the only one who emphathized with Luther... hargreeves always pressured him to be No.1 So he had to act brave and tough and not be vulnerable. Everyone else on the show expresses their emotions(even Diego) Since Luther can never turn off the perfectionist inside him, he couldn't lead a normal life. Which is why he never left the academy. He was a big dude physically but he never grew up, emotionally.
I know, Luther isn't an easy character to like, but he ALSO went through some traumatic times after his scarring childhood. And he didn't enjoy locking Vanya up without discussing it with anyone, but he thought it would be the only conceivable way to prevent the apocalypse.
Muskan Mathur No. Look if someone accidently slashed somebody's throat and made them mute, they totally arent dangerous at all right? Especially since it's possibly for Vanya to do that to absolutely all of them if she gets upset? Next time possible taking a life? Like Leonard? Granted he deserved it but nevertheless. In any other occasion she would be taken to prison and her weapons would be taken away. In this case her powers. Yeah it didnt work and it was questionable but no reason? Come on.
@u wot m8 You aren’t- I find the absolute vitriol toward Luther, & the blind sympathy toward other characters so strange. Hargreeves was deliberately deceptive in that ‘ranking’ system- I think when he learnt Luther was the easiest to control, that made it easier for him to pretend ‘No. 1’ meant more than what it did - & because Hargreeves conditioned him to accept his words & training as gospel- he felt he owed it to everyone to be the leader; he wasn’t trying to hurt anyone, but be responsible. It isn’t his fault his adoptive father was a sociopath who had no parental skills.

You can’t really blame Allison for how she treated Vanya growing up because that’s how they were raised. He literally forced Allison to use her powers when they were like 5 year olds. Allison is the only one who’s actively trying to reconnect and treat her like family.
Actually they were four when he made Allison brainwashed her
ikr, you can’t be angry at allison for something she was forced to do when she was 4. like any other 4 year old, she had no idea what she was doing - so people being angry at her because of that is just stupid
@@rubyhhh2715
Well she knew that leaving Vanya out of everything was wrong yet she still went along with the brothers leaving of her out of everything during the show...
Also just trying to reconnect with Vanya now doesn't make up for all the years of being secluded. She was going to snap eventually.
@L.B.
You missed my point completely...
my point was about Vanya going crazy the second she discovered her powers. Especially after finding out her family were the one surpressing her power while also leaving her out of everything. Alisson trying to reconnect with her now wouldn't change that.

Nice
But still apocalypse will happen.. as long as the commision exist apocalypse will.. they will find other way to make it happen..
Luther is a fuckin tool his stupid dum as hell locking up his sister.
It's not completely her fault because this must have been scary for her to learn that she was actually the
most powerful person there and she can't even get the years of training like her siblings did.
Not that I don't like Alison, but she was definately in the wrong for that.
Zach Arbogast She is also a fictional character, so it’s not off.
Paula E But think about how many parent wish they had a power like that? And how many parents would you think would use it? I’m guessing a lot.

Okay but they have the opportunity to bring him back for season 2 since they all travel back in time at the end of the show

He completely catalysed the end of the world. Every other sibling wanted to let Vanya out it was on Luther and his idiot self who caused Vanyas breakdown
@Dylan Rodrigues caused by her father's shitty parenting*
@@SnowWhitesBite yeah, the oatmeal was pretty fucked up. Maybe she is a bad person.

That Rumor power is dope AF! As a mom and big sister I found her relatable. She was like 4 when her dad used her powers on Vanya. Plus since they got back together as adults all she was trying to do was be a good big sister
Exactly.
@@torrix_4595 I would easily take klaus power.. (Spoiler alert)
As you can see in the last episode of season 1
He can make ghost use their power, Meaning that he can basically have more than 1 power if the others just die
*Spoilers I’m waaaaarning!!*
I love Klaus’ storyline.
Joshua A TM Amen to that
I haven't seen the show but u got the feeling silicon .

Laney Cermak Do you even hear yourself? That's so fucking messed up dude. Shut the fuck up
Laney Cermak just becaue they do one thing does not mean they have a mental disorder. Which is going to cause a lot of emotions and she doesn’t know how to handle them.
if they adapt the Dallas storyline, we'll likely see more of Five's character
Eight seasons!? Okay, I definitely want to see more, but that seems excessive. Remember, this is Netflix. At best we'll get a season every other year.

Luther caused the apocalypse by keeping Vanya IMPRISONED.
Nice... :O THAT'S HOW THE APOCALYPSE HAPPENED!! BY TRYING TO STOP THE APOCALYPSE HE CAUSED THE APOCALYPSE
Exactly, Luther is such a self-righteous idiot
Luther did not start it, klaus did by stealing a box with the note book.
the apocalypses was always going to happen. and if anyone is to blame its Vanya lol because it was literally her that went all crazy and evil.

Person That would just make it worse lmao
My boy klaus is literally the only one who didn’t screw up
tbh i think most of us would've done what luther did, In those situations you cant think straight
God Luther locks her up for Allison, although Allison straight up tells her not to
Number 5 and Klaus are the best characters entertainment wise. From a pure storyline perspective tho Vanya is the most fleshed out.
Colgang12 I would like to disagree. Number 5 is trash, and the best character is a tie between Klaus and Ben.
@@cassiessi personally really liked five's character tbh. and it was nice seeing some asian leads, despite the fact he was, y'know, dead.
@@cassiess my least favorite is Allison, Five, Klaus and Ben are my favorite characters. I do agree with Colgan12 though in which Vanya is the most fleshed out and best character story wise
agree 100%. Like by the end I found myself wanting to skip scenes just to get to them.
“Couldn’t keep up with their powers”
(Kept dying because Vanya killed them for trying to feed her porridge-)
I can't be the only one who gets Ms Peregrine ' s home for peculiar children vibes from this show.

Save them Barry!!
I love Klaus too because of how powerful he can become and just truly a badass character... and he’s also rly funny😂

gabbie xx I’m so confused why does everyone hate Luther 🤨
Completely agree. Luther just made me upset. I did not understand why he kept listening to what his dad told.
5 and then everyone else
My favorites were 1. Klaus, 2. Diego, and 3. Five.
After them, I also liked Allison, Ben(I hope we see more of him), and Vanya.
Luther actions make perfect sense for his character but still, he was very frustrating to watch.
Luther has super strength and he coundnt even handle hazel who didn’t have powers, Luther is the most disappointing of the 7
I think in the comics they say that all these time travelling assassins have enhanced powers on the strength department too. I understand the confusion as they do not clearly say it out loud in the show. But also it's more like those shows where you have to keep up and figure out the clues yourself and I prefer it that way.
You do realize that no one stopped Hazel and Cha-Cha? Like, Luther’s not my favourite, but I think all the hate is a bit unjust.
Maybe his power got nerfed when they injected him with that serum?
Yea, that was a bit confusing. Since, on one hand, dude can break apart a 10 ton statue with a single punch, walk off a chandelier his own size falling on him, yet Hazel could put up a fight. But, like nori7 said. He might have enhanced abilities, I mean, Cha Cha survived flying out of a car upon hitting the brakes, breaking out of handcuffs and still having a functional hand, and having the shit beaten out of her, multiple times. So...I don't think it's necessarily realistic to call them 'humans' as they're on par with Punisher, and Daredevil on that department.
I was thinking the same!!
She was the only one who was 100% for Vanya not being put in the vault 💁🏽♀️
But yeah Luther is the worst.
Zach Arbogast she ended being more dangerous when he locked her up. I seen a lot of these before. The bad guys is pushed over the edge of redemption by the good guy.
Zach Arbogast I see we have different ideals. Sorry but I just don’t agree
@@its.martin1125
They (along with Alison) actually tried addressing her emotional wellbeing, but Luther was too stubborn and too stupid

I like how theres so much of a foundation to the story it feels like they can literally go anywhere with the story
I'm so happy they decided to save her at the end and help her when they go back in time as children instead of just killing her
It's really not that deep, it's just a character...
EXACTLY. I don't understand all the Vanya hate about her needing to be more understanding like SHE TRIED OK. SHE TRIED SO HARD. She is in a really, really unstable place and needs love and affection not being locked in a cage indefinitely. And also yeah I do like how they took her with, I thought that it showed that there was hope for them as a family.
no printer just fax plus she had very bad anxiety. You could tell from her anxiety attacks
She’s from a dysfunctional family. There are no innocent parties. She’s just as guilty as her brothers and sister are.
@Storm Cranford well if they go back to time and have a better family she won't have all these problems she has now. That's most likely what Five thought
I liked Luther in the first episodes but he is some bs. The team would have been better without him.
In some wikia it is written that havegreens gave them their numbers according to their power rank and now that I've seen the show I think he numbered them backwards.
wait w o a h
that's so true!!
brooooooo actually
no in the comics reginald numbered them for the millisecond they were born
He ranked them from least to greatest, in my opinion he did rank them correctly.
Luther is the literal worst. He single handedly almost ruined the show for me.
Luthor made me yell at my screen out of anger so many times
I almost threw my phone during the scene Luther and Vanya scene cuz it made me so angry
@@narudi18 me too! I was so mad at him!
Fake Captain America..
I HATE him so muchhh
ive got sooooo many mixed/negative feelings about luther. he has a lot of this unchecked rage at his dad that he throws at Vanya and i feel like if his siblings weren't there to tell him it was wrong he probably would've kept her in that cage and fed her pills for the rest of her life.
I hate how people dont talk about if allison killed vanya at the end how the apocalypse would have never happened
@@ellis1469 true, but it could have similarly been avoided if Luther just tried to handle things better instead of just knocking vanya out and leaving her alone in a room.

I thought the same thing when I watched the show
I thought Diego was the love child of Noel Miller and Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester)
Right I can't unsee it now
That was my first thought when I saw the charecter lol
Anyone else really wanna see the dead bother’s powers more? No? Ok
we will! in the upcoming season he's been promoted to series regular, so he's going to get just as much screen time as the other siblings, unlike the few scenes we saw him in in season one. he'll probably get his own arc and everything, and as klaus' powers get more developed and controllable, we'll see a ton of ben's powers.
Pinesicle you were wrong we only saw a bit
@@pinesicle well ben is gone at s2....
True.

I don’t think we were meant to think of him as the rational one
If he didn’t do that then she wouldn’t have destroyed the house and pogo and Grace would still be alive not to mention THE REST OF THE WORLD
@@nevaehpinkney5053 Yes exactly
"There's a scene where Harold Jenkins pulls a Jussie Smollett." well if this ain't true idk what is
I love the way you describe the show. It is a bit like having a buffet with bits of food from different restaurants but it comes together to make a delicious combination.
“And I’m pretty sure pod casts with Cody Ko on his off time” omg ahahah I knew Diego reminded me of someone😂😂😂😂

Expect i still hate her
that cos she was taking mood suppressing pills. she's the character where depression becomes their identity, but that's kind of important to the plot. After she ditched the pills, she opened up interesting sides of herself. And plus, she has the coolest power in my opinion. I just hate how they executed her in the show.
I might be the only one who emphathized with Luther... hargreeves always pressured him to be No.1
So he had to act brave and tough and not be vulnerable. Everyone else on the show expresses their emotions(even Diego)
Since Luther can never turn off the perfectionist inside him, he couldn't lead a normal life. Which is why he never left the academy.
He was a big dude physically but he never grew up, emotionally.
He had no reason to lock up Vanya even after Alison told him what had happened and how it was not her fault at all.
Come on.
@u wot m8
You aren’t- I find the absolute vitriol toward Luther, & the blind sympathy toward other characters so strange. It isn’t his fault his adoptive father was a sociopath who had no parental skills.
u wot m8 he’s still a dickhead tho 😳
