    The ‘high quality’ texture setting is actually not recommended. It’s best to leave it to quality. It came mess with textures in a lot of games so i dunno why people automatically change it from the default ‘quality’

    I would set Variable Rate Super Sampling to "off" or "adaptive" not "always on". VRSS does not increase fps but does the opposite. It super samples the center of your vision in VR at the cost of lower performance.

Even in CSGO I use G-Sync with my 240 Hz monitor with the old V-Sync on in Control Panel and Off in-game mode. Latency is imperceptible and the image is ridiculously smooth at high Hz with no tearing whatsoever. I beg even competitive players to check it out and see how it feels for them.

    In more recent driver releases the difference between Gsync on and FPS capped vs. Gsync off and in uncapped is negligible.
    It's better to have the smoother motion if the cost is only 1-5 ms in latency.
    Best settings these days are Gsync on, FPS capped in driver 3-5 under max refresh rate, and vsync on.

    • @JstKingx

      i think everyone is just going to ignore how wrong this take is , best settings ? fps capped ? vsync on ? ... SMH

    • @VulgrDisplay
      @VulgrDisplay 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@JstKingx you don't have to believe me, but it's true.
      Vsync only adds massive latency when your FPS is going higher than the refresh rate. That latency is the GPU discarding frames instead of letting you see them.
      If you cap your FPS below your max refresh rate your GPU will never over run the refresh rate and throw data out.
      It's been tested but people with the actual tools to do it and the benefits of FPS cap below max refresh, Vsync on, and VRR on outweigh going uncapped and no Vsync.
      You get a much smoother experience at the expense of about 1-5ms latency.

    • @JstKingx
      @JstKingx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You should never use vsync and if you are going to cap fps and use g sync be ready to have pretty good pc that can constantly maintain those fps or you are just going to have tearing , not worth it to cap your fps or use g sync in any competitive fps games or you are going to be at a disadvantage, the only time you should maybe want to use g sync is with a game like GTA for example that runs at 60 fps and you are going to have a really smooth game otherwise don't really touch it

    Despite what you say about vsync, it is very much required to be swiiched 'on' with lower end graphic cards eg. GTX 1080, and also to have it 'on/enabled' in the game settings as well. Otherwise you will get screen tear a lot.

    • @MultiNastyNate
      @MultiNastyNate 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It also has to be on for gsync to work on monitors that have it

      A 1080 is low end? What in the fuck are y'all smoking, you probably still play at 1080p

    • @Mallzyyy
      @Mallzyyy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the games you play. For example in CoD I‘d always prefer screen tearing that I don’t even notice that much over Input delay which is caused by Vsync

      @@renderedpixels4300 haha 😢 its not low end its around medium gpu i mean for 1080p is still perfect lot of people are on rtx this is why they telling for high gtx series 1070 1080 is low end its not 1080 is still excellent for gaming with mixed settings for esports still can play at 144+fps some at 200+fps just need good cpu

    Image Scaling and the Deep Learning DSR that's available for RTX cards sound like great features, but it sort of sounds like they do opposite things to a degree. Are you suggesting that we turn both options on if we have an RTX card, and if so, should I be setting my in-game resolutions higher or lower than my native resolution?

    • @aryang_.
      @aryang_. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if image scaling is on i think you lower ur res

    • @err404or
      @err404or 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not sure if it's still relevant for you but for Image Scaling you have set a lower resolution in game after enabling it in NCP and it will upscale it to whatever your native resolution is. You can pick exact Image Scaling resolution in GeForce Experience and from there automatically apply it your your game settings. It won't look as good as native but will improve performance.
      DLDSR is when you render in a higher resolution which gets downscaled to your native resolution. For example rendering in 1.78x which is 2K will be downscaled to your native resolution which is basically an expensive form of anti-aliasing and increases the pixel count which makes the game look better but is rather taxing on the system unless you adjust some settings in the game itself (which I prefer not to).
      Hope that explains!

    • @DylanKreutzer
      @DylanKreutzer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@err404or Thanks! I was just confused because it seemed strange to me that he was recommending that we use both featured when it seems like you'd only be able to utilize one of those features at a time. I think I'm just going to avoid DLDSR/DLSS and Image Scaling unless I decide I want it for a specific title.

    please tell me how to do it ??
    in nvidia control panel 3 options are there.
    1: optimal - gpu runs from 300 mhz in idle to 1930mhz in gaming
    2: adaptive - same 300 to 1930 mhz
    3: high performance - but selecting this, the gpu runs at 1500 base clock of the gpu in idle and 1930 mhz in gaming.
    I want to change my GPU optimal / adaptive clock speed to 800 mhz,
    in other words I want my GPU to run at 800 mhz in idle and 1930 mhz while gaming
