    Love the vids mate!! I know exactly what those large circles are!! Who ever has laid the patio has not laid them on a full bed. They have been spot mixed. If you spot mix indian sandstone that is what happens. Those circles are the cement underneath.

      I agree but with sandstone the bottoms need to be seald with sbr or a slurry thats what causes leaching of the slabs as sandstone is porous it may be laid on spots easiest way to tell is hit them lightly with a rubber mallet and they will sound hollow 👍

    The patches are where there are hollow gaps under the tiles, where they skimped on muck when initially laid it. So each of those blob looking things is the actual cement muck and the colouration surrounding them is where those hollow cavities are. I don't know what it exactly is but its possible its some mold or moss somehow manages to imbed itself in the slabs themselves from that hollow cavity; only seems to effect top quality slabs thought its weird.

    You could drill a hole in the side of the bin (near the top obviously) and fit a ball/float valve like you'd find in a toilet cistern. Fit a hozelock style connector to it on the outside of the bin and connect your filling hose to it. As the bin gets full of water it would then shut off the supply, as the level drops the water is allowed to flow again. Would stop the overflow issue you spoke about.

    I think the tile is lovely, and I like the pattern. What a nice back yard space they have. You did a good job. Seems to me that whoever laid the tile, then sealed it, didn't make sure it was clean. Also, there are natural blemishes that should be looked at as traits of their patio. Mother nature marks us all.

      @@PartridgeExteriorCleaning I've seen similar issues with natural stone, where they didn't lay a full bed of mortar or sand down under it so it would get moisture puddling underneath and started leaching to the surface. They ended up tearing the whole thing out and doing a an entirely different rock.

    Those stains you can’t get rid of. They come from the moisture transferred through the mortar below. It’s known as ‘dot and dab laying’ and is frowned upon in the industry - paving slabs should be laid on full beds of mortar so that they don’t show the weird staining.
    For reference, I’m a builder.

    You might be able to use a wet stone to lightly grind it out. When I cut agate and jasper, I frequently hand polish the cut marks out. Use light circular motions while wet. It's going to take a little effort and make a milky mess, but it will let you grind it down and feather it out so you can't tell it was pressure etched.

      @@PartridgeExteriorCleaning I'd totally do it, but it's way out of my territory. I'm in Oregon, USA. It really will come out with just little more than the weight of the stone. You could find a messed up stone and practice...... That's how I learned. It's a skill to learn and add to your arsenal. I've "restored" quite a few pressure washing burns. $4.50 sq/ft for stone work adds up.

    Brilliant Sid what a great job I use to only use Hypo or jet wash but after seeing Ben flawless and Ricky Banjo doing jobs it makes sense to combine the 2 for maximum results so stuff looks cleaner and stays cleaner for longer

      @PartridgeExteriorCleaning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah man definitely, I’m really starting to see why it’s so commonly used. I’m glad I learnt with bio first and got all the safety measures in check, main thing with hypo for me is just worrying about it bleaching tarmac or burning the grass!

    • @clivebernath3490
      @clivebernath3490 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PartridgeExteriorCleaning I'll second that with the hypo. What I do is saturate the edge of the grass with water first and have had no problems....so far!

    Also the blotchy marks are likely to be spot beds under the slabs rather than a full wet bed. Natural salts coming through, if the slabs had a full wet bed and were primed prior to laying this wouldn’t happen. It looks like a big failure on who ever completed the work for many reasons more than the above. All the best

    On a sunny day, wet the area and put down SH with some Surfactant in first. I always leave for 20 mins and then start pressure washing. Sometimes have to repeat the process again at the end but just a rinse down after. Soon you will get to no what mix ratios needed by just looking at the job but Google any your not sure of 👍
    Also, sand stone can have fossilsin them which appear more over time. You'll never get rid of those obvs 😁
    Nice set up mate, will really see the benefit when you get your first block paved drive way.
    Really happy for you and how well your channel is doing also, respect.

    I likie how methodically you do things and you give the equipment ime to do the job rather than rush. In relation to stains remember the stone will contain minerals copper for example with the green and when the stone is cut and gets wet they are exposed to the air and can oxidise. Your fighting the natural makeup of the stone. Test this on a small area;

      Brilliant fantastic tip. I used bleach on the top corner section an let it sit for 20 mins, when i rinsed off it looked a million times better so blasted the whole patio, im almost too careful with that chemical I think but just happy it turned out well!

    I find your videos very helpful as I am trying to get into this type of work. You seem very genuine, don't go down the route of endorsing these big companies products as I have stopped watching certain channels because I feel like they are trying to sell you their products, A E Mac for one.

    • @PartridgeExteriorCleaning
      @PartridgeExteriorCleaning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I know exactly where you're coming from, I keep it real so if i thought something was crap I'd say so, I've had multiple offers from other companies but I choose not to deal with people that aren't to do with the industry or people i've heard bad things from. I was really in need of a good deal for this washer as funds were running low so was happy to deal with spinaclean as they have a good rep. The channel will neverr be me product pushing every video though don't worry about that, I like to just crack on!

    @georgeclark2778 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks a lot better than it did Sid,it would be interesting how it would look after a low pressure clean at high temp,or steam.I usually go that route then finish off with a treatment of biocide before any sealing,good video mate 👍🏻

  • @FlashTechEngineering
    @FlashTechEngineering 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi bro, 4% hypo pretreatment on that stone ... ideally your machine should be 25 litres per minute minimum for surface cleaning especially on 21 inch and up to 30 inch surface cleaner , machine psi maximum should be 3500- 4000 psi. It's the litres per minute that counts.. also pretreatment and post treatment... I find best to cut in last.. 👍
