    Great video. Interesting to see them both together. I've just ordered the FMS. Looking at the reviews the flight stall rate looks higher on the HK version. Good insight on your video . Helped me make a better buying decision for myself. Thank you!

      Hi this is an old video - but thanks for your comment, if you do not mind me saying you have indeed ordered the better Aircraft (FMS) - I sold on my HobbyKing version and kept the FMS one it is just all round better...I have also sold my HK P51 and Kept the FMS P51...

      Good to know and I will spread the word - I do say in this video that the Gyro installation document is available to down load and it is an easy replacement ... I also conclude that the HK Corsair is more true to scale and will indeed be the first one I build and fly once our UK lockdown has been lifted - thanks for your comment... the HK Corsair is a nice bit of kit - but I will ask when can we expect a Spitfire in the 750-800mm range ?

    But still a great video!! and I’m really keen on seeing these fly because I really want to purchase one! Since the hidden costs of having to buy a radio system and a battery for the hking Corsair make the price closer to that of an rtf Corsair from FMS ( More expensive in fact), the way they fly is what will ultimately help me make a decision!

    What's the foam used for each plane? EPP? not keen on a EPS built plane.

    • @FlankerTanker
      @FlankerTanker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are both made from EPP / EPO Foam as are almost all of the foam aircraft made by the Chinese manufacturing companies and retailed by reputable brands such as FMS, Horizon Hobby, Durably, Dynam ,..etc...etc....

    • @rackmasterh
      @rackmasterh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Big, big difference between EPP and EPO. Both of these are EPO. No molded EPP close to this size. Largest I know of is the Big Ultrix from eflight . But great, detailed comparison. I have the FMS with a Lemon gyro receiver. Underpowered on 2s not recommended for 3s. Not fun to fly. Flies fine just not fun. Have to land with considerable speed not to stall. Still, only one crash which only ripped wheels out on takeoff.

    Half the price? Could you check that again? Because on the fms website, the 800mm Corsair pnp is less than $110. Compare that to hking version which is $93 only because that batch has defective defective stabilisers. Prices are expected to go up after that batch. Also apparently, the fms is also available in an rtf version for only $143..

    • @FlankerTanker
      @FlankerTanker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      at the time of purchase and the places I purchased from the HK was 50% of the FMS price - the HK was £72.00 and the FMS was £140.00 - The HK price of £72.00 give to take a few pounds is standard for the 800mm , so they did not reduce it in the UK for the faulty stabiliser but they did provide a replacement one.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
    I can’t wait to see your flight comparison.
    Here in the USA both planes are currently available. The hk one is $94 and the fms one is $109. Would you still lean towards the hk version if the price difference was only $15?
    I hope to belly land so I don’t see the wheels. I would think the one-piece prop should be more robust. I fly my Fms 1.1 zero as a belly lander and it’s fine but then again it has a 3-blade one-piece prop.
    Cheers!

    • @FlankerTanker
      @FlankerTanker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It a hard choice to make - but I would go for the HK version - its more scale accurate and with the Orx it handles like a much bigger aircraft , the three blade prop really is not a problem its solid - also (when they have them) a set of three blades is only £3.00 in the UK - and really easy to replace - the FMS 4 blade (here in the UK) can cost £9-13 !!!! - not that one goes around breaking props all the time lol - the 3 spare 4 blade props I got with the FMS - were about £4.00 each ... we really get ripped off price wise in the UK...

    I have been looking at both of these closely.
    Do you know if the fms wing has carbon reinforcement? I’m sure the hk (which is a rebranded top rc plane) does not.
    Do you think the nanotech 3s 850mah would fit in either plane?
    I have the hk 750 hurricane and took the orx out and put a spektrum ar630 in it. It flies very nice. Do you think there’s room in the hk Corsair for an 850mah 3s and an ar630?
    Thank you!

      @FlankerTanker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have taken a good close look at the FMS wing in the making of this video and the unboxing and to tell you the truth I do not know - what I can tell you is that it does NOT have th tell-tail little rectangular holes in the wing - which i have found on every other RC Foam aircraft that does have a carbon or Fibre rod imbedded into the Foam .. so based on this and this alone - I would say NO it does not have a carbon spar in the wings... The HK one defiantly does not - I have seen one crash , it break the wing in half and no sign of a spar... Yes the Nanotech 3s will fit and that is what I intend to use on both of mine... - its a tight fit but I think I can get one in as I plan to use AR620 in both of mine....I know someone who has put one in the FMS one and had to glue it upside down on the underside of the canopy .. Thanks for watching my videos and leaving your comments...

    Well presented Flanker....My HK version will measure as I will add lights!! They are sold out here as well A$140 delivered. i probably won't use the tanks & rocket as I have not on my P-51, Tempest etc. I feel they fly better without.You should have given your nails a tick as mine would have been a XI I looked at a wrecked Corsair & the elevators were like the FMS ones.

      I fly with it all tanks and Rockers on - I might try and gently remove them and see what the difference feels like..... I did quite a lot of internet research and did not find a single F4U-4 with elevators like the FMS one - I have even checked on a site dedicated to the Corsair and they are all like the HK versions - even took a look at other makes and sizes of RC ones and they all have the same Elevator as the HK 750mm Version, I just don't know what to say - can you send me the link as I would like to correct it , or at least make a comment about it in the video Thanks -

I removed the motor, behind that is the metal motor mount that is screwed into a plastic piece. The plastic piece is glued into a foam piece. The foam piece is only a quarter of an inch thick.
