@@ZeroThree31 I like it. It has a good crunch awesome clean. The metal Channel could be a little better but it’s fender i don’t expect it to sound like blackstar. Honestly it’s a good bang for your buck. I tried all the other amps from the same price range i liked this one more.

He likes it, but doesnt really have anything to compare it to as it is his only amp aside from a portable one that I got for him (the NUX mini). I was looking for something different than he has now so that he has options. Something that he can play in the house (I dont mind noise. I love watching and listening to him play) and also so that if he does ever decide to play in a bigger area, he can do so.
@@ZeroThree31 i had the LT 25 i gave it to my nephew. The champion 40 is definitely a step up. But it doesn’t have all those patches. Like the lt 25. It has the effects but you have to put them on manually and there is really nothing to save it’s literally turn on the reverb and then switch it to flanger when you want to…. Way Better sound though. The foot switch is separate but it goes from clean to whatever distortion you set it to.
Just bought one. Put a Celestion speaker in it when I got home. Good sound. Good volume. I’m impressed. Not overwhelmed with effects which is good. Worth the bucks.

I'm a 60 year old metalhead...been using this amp only for the clean channel and effects since I'm a old school pedal guy.this amp handle pedals like a dream..amp is LOUD as hell!! I use a proco rat, tubescreamer,eq,and vox wah and play everything from Sabbath to Pantera..amp is definitely worth the money..awesome video and awesome playing!!

A phenomenal amplifier for the price, and with the voice and effects options, gives you everything from warm clean blues to screeching distorted metal. And it packs a punch: especially if played with a hot pickup, the amp is almost punishingly loud, even at a 5 or 6. So not only is it a great practice amp, it's also a great small or medium gig amp.

It has the classic fender cleans that you'd expect it to have. It's not too harsh but not too bright either. Good for classic rock and low gain stuff as well.

Excellent review. I've had one for two years and I actually use it twice as much as my Blue Junior. Lots more versatility for for all the different types of guitars I have.
Very true. I have a Squier Tele and Squier Strat, a Dave Mustaine signature Zero, and a Fender DG10 acoustic electric, and each one has it's own personality when plugged into the amp. Love it.
Need to cut your bass back some, about two notches. Solid state amp tend to have a heavy "v" tone pattern. Wonder why fender didn't have a "mid" nob on this like the 100 does? Solid state amp really need them.
@kretik ay oh ok I see now. Honestly when I use that setting it for more jazzy type of stuff. I have also used a big muff and low gain overdrive on that channel.
This is my practice amp and gigging amp. It’s not about the size because you always mic your amp anyway! Don’t use any petals. Only a foot switch with the effects on the amp! Bad ass amp

I got one of these used $40. I had a Warehouse ET65 speaker laying around and swapped it with the stock speaker. The amp sounds really good with a proper speaker. The stock one wasn't bad just the ET is nicer- especially now that it's breaking in
Of course to the DSL100 with jcm800 cab in our band’s practice space this is nothing but for at home this thing is perfect! I learned everything I know on this amp and it can do anything! The gain voicing are a bit muddy but a distortion pedal into the clean channel works wonders!

You know, every time I'm curious about a somewhat recent piece of kit, I know this channel is likely to have a demonstration of it, more so than any other. I wish I could stop into one of the shops and buy straight from there, but being in the states kind of makes that difficult. Ah, gotta love the international nature of TH-cam.

no, if you use only amp sound will be sucky, there will be times you wont hear yourself. dont get me wrong its a really nice amp, but i kinda regreted just because i dont have more gear to boost up the sound. i'd go for a champion 100, also buy a pedal for the effects, yll thank me later :D
Mine has a buzzing noise when I have it on FXS. if I give it more gain the bussing noise sounds louder, but on this video I hear everything clear as a bells. Did mine came out damage?
Good review! I'm loving the used one I bought, but the volume was jumping up very high for a second when switching back to the clean channel so I've taken it in for an apparently needed repair.
The only thing I'd improve about this amp is to see the EQ better matched between channels. Channel 2, with the British sound I use, loses to much high end. Other than that, perfect amp -even for a gigging player. The more you gig, the more you appreciate replaceable equipment that's easy to move and setup.
If you like simpler controls definitely the Champ. If you enjoy using your phone for the amp and limited control over tone without the app or website then go for the 'Stang. Overall the Mustang is more versatile, but the Champion can do virtually the same thing for most people.
Has the effect built into it but seems to have limited controls as to changing the distortion. Still for learning how to play harder rock/ metal it'll do the trick
A combo is definitely a good idea if you don’t have the money for pedals. Tho if you’re playing shows it’d be a better idea to go for something a little more hi watt.

Hell ya it is. With my set ups, I set the amp to the yellow/orangish colored "British" setting, with low gain(gain 2-4), and set the other channel to reverb, or reverb/delay, with fx level set low also(fx 2-4), and it gets that sound easily.
Great review! Just one question...my very basic beginner's amp has no effects (just basic "Drive") but DOES have a "Mid" control - whereas this Amp only has Treble and Bass...so what do you do for Mid ranges?
you can plug bass in guitar amp but it can blow your speakers, and probably will lack low end. anyway, you can play guitar through the bass amp without worrying (if you like the tone... it can be muddy if eq is not set right)

40w, 12" speaker... You'll never have the chance to turn the volume pot beyond 5 without being too loud to gig. Don't let anyone fool you, I haven't seen anyone with a 50w amp to turn the volume pot beyond 5 yet, not even in a medium venue. If you and your band gig in a room the amp will be loud even at 3, and if you gig in a big open space with too much noise around you then maybe you'll have to turn it to 5 or 6

BadGuitarPlaying pitch harmonics have almost nothing to do with the amp. It’s all technique. You need to essentially pick and then follow it with the string vibration hitting your thumb immediately after, this shortens the wavelength of the string vibration and creates a pitch harmonic.
I have one, and hell it's loud, if you have it as a pedal platform, you can crank it to 5 or 6 easily and it will sound as good as it can get in a club (Also loud!). If you buy the footswitch, do great marshall (plexi or jcm) and fender rock tones, as well as good high gain tones,so you have a great 2 channel amp.

After picking up a 20 last week i can definitely imagine how loud the bigger ones would be!

No, this is for guitar only, if you want to play bass you’ll need to buy a bass amp

So I'm kinda new to guitar, so i'm wondering. Would i be able to perform a pinch harmonic with this? If not, what kind of amp should i look for to be able to make that sweet squeal.
BadGuitarPlaying pitch harmonics have almost nothing to do with the amp. It’s all technique. You need to essentially pick and then follow it with the string vibration hitting your thumb immediately after, this shortens the wavelength of the string vibration and creates a pitch harmonic.

Is it cool for "club concerts "
I have one, and hell it's loud, if you have it as a pedal platform, you can crank it to 5 or 6 easily and it will sound as good as it can get in a club (Also loud!). If you buy the footswitch, do great marshall (plexi or jcm) and fender rock tones, as well as good high gain tones,so you have a great 2 channel amp.
