Thank you Derek. You have helped me a lot recently. I have had a Fender Champion 40 for over three years now but for most of that time I didn’t think it was very good. I could never get the sort of tones that I wanted because I really didn’t understand how to use the amp properly. I did the usual thing of watching lots of TH-cam videos about other amps and eventually bought a Peavey Bandit ( which turned out to be much too powerful for my needs and which I have subsequently sold). When I started watching your videos, I realised that I had already got what I wanted and am really enjoying my Fender Champion now. I am very grateful to you. Ian Rouse. The Black Country, England.
2:20. "Now volume is relative. It all depends on how much your relatives can stand . . ." LOL. I subscribed when you said that because at that moment it was 10:30 at night, I was in the living room learning how to work with my brand new Fender Champion 40 in the living room, and my family were all asleep in the bedrooms down the hall. Thanks for the great instructions!
I'm gonna buy this amp tomorrow for my brand new Ibanez! Thank you for your precious piece of advice and the demo my friend! Greetings from Athens Greece!
Hey there, I was thinking to go for the Fender Champion 20. I saw all of your videos about this amp, and I might say I am impressed. Thank you and keep it up!
Your videos are always fun to look at! i have a couple of questions for you: I am looking for an amp to Classic Hard Rock, i.e. AC/DC, Zeppelin, Beatles, Greenday, 38 Special , Stones that kind of music. But sometimes, I would like to play with a little more overdrive, Judas Priest, Sabbath, Metallica, just to name a few. Could this amp cut it, if I use pedals, like Tube Screamer or The Rat Distortion pedals? Sorry for the many questions.
Love this amp so far! What do you think would be the best settings on this amp to get a fuzzy 90s power pop tone (like Weezer, Presidents of the USA) with a Squier Bullet Strat? I currently have it on British Orange, Gain at 7-8, Treble at 7, Bass at 7, but if there's a good hack you know I'd love to hear it!
Yo Derek, Set mine following your hard rock solo settings vid. Only difference is I put the trevel at 8. But everything else I did exactly as you did. Sounds mad cool.
Hey I’ve got a new Champ 40…I own a Fender Stat, I want to create settings to play “LaGrange” by ZZ Top. What 2nd channel setups would get me close to that Billy Gibbins tone!
Thanks Derek! My question is how do you deal with all the noise you get when you turn up the gain etc. When I do this with my Champion 40 I hear my fingers moving across the fretboard and other noise but it is not a 60HZ hum just noise. Thanks great video.
Hey man. I'm really stuck in here. No matter how high I set the gain, the guitar sounds very clean. And channel 2 is on. I don't know what else to do...please help! Thank you!
Yo I followed your steps for hard rock Solo. But I put trevle to 8 instead. Next I opened the pickups on my limited adition Strat with roasted maple neck to 10. Bruh the thing almost sounds like the guitars in White Weading. Especially that main mellody guitar. I suppose I have to turn the tone nobs down a bit to get the thicker sound. But mad cool I got or rather almost got the White Weading sound. It's a little too buzzy and fuzzy the Champion is but meh still kinda the idea. Look on TH-cam for Billy Idol White Weading isolated guitar. Someone got the master WAV files. Check it out and perhaps you can help me get it more there. Thanks.
Hi, I'm Max and I'm writing from Italy (Sardinia). I have a Fender Champion 40, but when I play with headphones the volume stays low even when I turn it all the way up. It's normal? Does it depend on the headphones? Thank you.
I don't know like i do everything and it sounds clean (i have a fender strat) like I'm very sad because i cant play electric guitar because every song sounds trash 😔

Put a fet boost into the amp
Scoop out mids by setting treb and bass at 6

You were my teacher at the Capital School
Hello Jackson! I am so glad you are still playing music! Thank you for watching and commenting!
British/ yellow/ gain on 3 for me. Great bite with clarity with My telecaster.

Hello. How do I get the big muff effect on Champion 40?

Muy buen video, me compré el CH40 y es increíble. Si puedes configurar para Rock latino (Los prisioneros, Soda Stereo, etc.) Saludos.

Has the champion 20 and 40 the same setting options?is it just the 20 vs 40 watt diverence?

Thank you!
Nice video, man. Thanks!
Is there a footswitch for the amp where we can just hit the footswitch to change from clean to distortion sound and vice versa..
Would please do a video about how to get your fender 40 to sound like the strokes. Also, thanks for the wonderful videos!!
how can i get the cleanest sound i play a Strat my fender champion 40 currently sound tiny

Yes
It depends on headphone impedance
Try different ones .
I actually prefer my sons Beats by Dre for this amp.
Then I turn the bass pot to zero
I have a Fender Champion 100. If the Fender Champion 40 is half the badass his big brother is that will be a great day having a great time!😅
Great review, but I prefer setting my knobs on 11.
this or the mustang lt50?
Champion 40 sounds far better ❤️
I don't know like i do everything and it sounds clean (i have a fender strat) like I'm very sad because i cant play electric guitar because every song sounds trash 😔
