- Today we are sharing with you our coffee ritual, because we drink coffee for health benefits, not to erase fatigue, or feel hip.
Over the years we have fine-tuned our coffee drinking habits to maximize health benefits. We always pay attention to potential toxicity, oxidation traps, caffeine content, heavy metal contamination, dependence, and residual garbage. All this makes a huge difference to health over time.
If you want to kick your coffee health benefits a notch, please follow our suggestions, or add yours in the comment section.

Wow! Very impressive content and information about coffee consumption for health! Thank you! I’m glad I found your channel!
Thank you for bringing issue of toxicity. However could you please clarify you suggestion at time point -7.11 “ something for something so make you choice wisely”. Are you suggesting not to drink coffee at all as it is toxic : non organic has toxic pesticides and organic has very harmful ochratoxins. So there is no healthy choice for coffee. Then why even discuss oxidation if coffee is toxic one way or another?
I am using Nespresso Vertuo Next machine and is famous for making nice testy thick crema on top. In their capsules they have highly processed grind coffee and if you take it out and use different machine or brewing methods there will be no such crema. So crema is seemingly result of brewing method not the degree of oxidation. Fortunately there are still ways to determine freshness of coffee without brewing it and measuring crème thickness
I also grind daily with organic beans using an espresso machine. However, for a delicious, creamy and healthy treat, I add a small tab of butter from grass-fed, pasture raised cows (Kerry Gold, unsalted)
Yummy!
When you use instant coffee, buy it in large package and take it in smaller glass jar for daily use. Its reduce oxitation and is easier to handle.
I have MS and was told no coffee. I’m going to try it your way.
Great video Doc!
I make espresso in a 10.00 pot but will never get crema from it. You do need a much more pressurized pot for the crema. Also I store my coffee in the refrigerator and my espresso coffee in the freezer....fresher and less oxidation.
The freezer is great only when you access it very seldomly.
Every time it is opened, the outside air which is warm and (relatively) more humid, replaces the frozen dry air inside. Then when it refreezes, the moisture in the new warm air condenses onto the coffee as the temperature drops to freezing. This builds up the ice in the container in a short time, which will certainly cause oxidation.
That is why we are told NOT to store coffee in the freezer.
The way around this problem is to let it thaw completely BEFORE opening it.
Greatly appreciated this video and I would like to know about instant coffee
Thank you , Thank you !
One ❤️
Going to try everything you said. I just switched my plastic drip coffee maker for a glass Bodum pour over style maker. However, the coffee tends not to be hot enough when I add my coconut milk creamer. Also I use organic swiss water processed decaf. Are there any hidden issues with decaf made that way, besides the ochratoxins you mentioned? Because of the reflux issues I am having, I stopped drinking regular organic coffee (I tend to go for the darker roasts in general because they seem less acidic) I am thinking to get a French press, which I used to have. Not sure where to find the type of stainless steel perculator you use. We have an old one that my grandma used to use, but I am almost positive that it's all aluminum, which I do avoid. Anyway, another unique and informative video! Thank you!!!
Great content - now, to pesticide or to ochratoxin, that is the question🤔
Great video as usual. ☘️
Could you please explain why slower grinding produces better , healthier coffee. The slower grinding there are more exposure to oxidation so it seems the quicker coffee gets to brewing the lower is oxidation
What espresso maker do you have? I would like to purchase one. Or donyou have any stainless steel recommendations?
Is there a way to find coffee without pesticides and without ochratoxins? I suppose ochratoxins are so harmful so coffee is being certified to contain less than certain threshold. Do you think process of decaffeinating also reduces ochratoxicity ?
Absolutely nutriet dense information here, wow!
I usually only drink one cup a day when I’m drinking it, but I drink a lot of teas.
What a great video.
Hello great channel, can you suggest an espresso maker, Thank you
Great
How about not brewing coffee in a plastic coffee maker as well?
thanks, very informative
Oh heck. I have been doing it aqll wrong! I crave dark roast!
Lol.
That was good!
Shared it.
In all the madness and exposure to toxins in everyday life, along with the fact you could get killed or die in other ways, I'll drink coffee without all this extreme worrying, that will do more damage than the coffee it's self.
Nobody is worrying. It's all about choices. I provide a guide to choices. Not knowing limits choices and limits outcomes.
@@LiveUthing you clearly are or you wouldn't be so specific about it all.
@@LiveUthing toxins are everywhere, I respect what you are saying, but there is more to worry about than being fastidious over what coffee to drink, I'm not a big coffee drinker once a day two shots worth. I could go out and be hit by a car etc, I'm not worried about a couple of shots of coffee.
Why is the audio only on right side?
What about French Press?
A mocha pot does not make espresso as the process is not of sufficient pressure. Darker roast, less caffeine. In the end, it's all about the beans.
Can I feature you for our channel?
Why did you not talk about decaf? If I drink even weak tea with caffeine in it, I get palpitations, higher B.P. and insomnia. I only drink one cup of reg tea in the morning then decaf. Earl Grey, then herbal tea after dinner and that it. I can't drink coffee because of the caffeine, which is not good for anyone, and addictive with withdrawal symptoms, it's actually a strong drug to be avoided.
You can also buy raw coffee beans and roast them as needed.
Is light roast Decaf an option?
It is, but in my opinion, if you don't tolerate caffeine, don't do coffee. If you don't tolerate caffeine in large quantities, stick to occasional coffee. Decaf is highly processed.
@@LiveUthing I appreciate you sharing your knowledge on this topic. I think I’ll stick to unprocessed options. Thank you for the response.
Pls redo with proper sound
Thoughts on bullet proof coffee?
Way too complicated for what it is worth. Skip coffee. Do green tea and pomegranate instead for health benefits.
Just by you knowing the info, you are further ahead.
No, 😊
100%BS. At best coffee does not do any harm for the most of us.
It does do harm, it's a strong drug with withdrawal symptoms, it raises B.P, can cause anxiety, insomnia, it's very acidic, and toxic. Supposedly, it is good for the liver, but I'd say the harm outweighs any benefit.
A recent Study., Says Coffee causes Alzheimer’s!
Has anyone on here seen this same study? Thank you🌸
Coffee and tea are known to deplete the vitamin b1 supplies. And this may raise the risk for alzheimer's disease. But can even out the score by taking a good vitamin b complex or reducing your coffee intake.
I have real coffee and my acid reflux flares
High-carbohydrate diet plays a huge role in acid reflux
Everything you say is awesome but "former board certified"? That is probably an interesting story.
Yes, I retired
So, to properly drink coffee for health benefits, you gotta be an expert neuroscientist? 🤓😜
why not jack up your antioxidants to counter this crap
