Coffee makes me happy. To smell it, weigh it up, grind it, smell it again, brew it, smell it again, taste it, drink it. Ahhh. It's a ritual of joy and comfort!
There's something about drinking coffee for me that is meditative, the warm cup the aroma the flavor of the bean. I use the journal book called Morning Coffee and Thoughts by Guru Notebooks for writing down stuff while sipping in the morning. I love starting mornings like that.
Dose is the poison, as long as it’s within reasonable moderation you get the benefits and if you go overboard then the bad parts start showing themselves.
I am one of those who drinks coffee strickly for the taste. I only drink decaf with half n half. I've never liked sweetened coffee. I brew mine with the pour over method, a single cup at a time. Perfect
As someone who's dealing with anxiety and a specialty coffee enthusiast, and someone who's anxiety affected his life, I'd say that (as anything else) knowing the limits (aka when and how much) of coffee you consume is key. For me, I avoid consuming caffeine on the day I know events will be happening which will increase my anxiety levels. Also, knowing yourself is key. Caffein tends to increase the heart rate naturally, and people who are dealing with anxiety disorders (especially health anxiety) might confuse these symptoms with heart issues. It happens to me even though I know how my body reacts to coffee, and it's hard to convince yourself it's just coffee :D that's anxiety for you.
I’m one of those people who absolutely should not have coffee. It makes me feel wired and anxious. I’m never in the present because my brain is going too fast and does not focus. I’d be so much happier if I didn’t have caffeine. However, I just can’t seem to quit!!!
Organic decaf Swiss water processed has all the health benefits and tastes the same as regular. It’s expensive for 12 ounces but Lifeboost Coffee is the best I have ever had and they test it for molds. Long story short if you’re a black coffee drinker you can still enjoy it with health benefits without the stimulation from caffeine.
I used to be a coffee lover, the daily ritual of a whistling mokka pot to start my day... however after training to teach yoga in india I realised yogis dont drink it. It stimuated the nervous system. We are all already over stimulated and stressed. I also realised through my intro to ayurvedic medicine that coffee is not good for you if you have a "pitta" dosha imbalance. (Adding milk reduces some of its effects) Look up the dosha test if interested. Anyway, I stopped drinking (decaf) coffee incl. Swiss water procressed, only to start again but my eczema worsened. Red and inflammed. Now I've stopped again its getting better. I love coffee so I'm trying soluble chicory instead. It's learning what works for YOU!
James got it wrong: I‘m not a decaf drinker, BECAUSE I drink coffee for its taste. Haven’t found a single decaf yet without a distracting and annoying quality to it. That’s why I keep drinking regular coffee. Lower doses and smaller cups are the way to go for me! A 200ml to 13g of ground coffee is my new standard recipe for filter and since I have a grinder that can grind fine enough I also make a double espresso with 15g of ground coffee. Two coffee drinks like this per day - one in the morning and one after lunch - and I don’t get jittery, can sleep well and can taste the wonderful variety of coffees without being restricted to decafs.
Good thinking re: lower doses/smaller cups. I may try that. So, I have no affiliation whatsoever, but I like Rock Canyon Coffee's decaf. They say it's a dark roast, but it's barely a medium-dark; not very oily. Best decaf I've personally found, but I'm no James Hoffman, so your mileage may vary. Good luck.
Genuine honest question? I love coffee and tea and drink maybe 5-6 cups total most days i never notice any negative symptoms i only notice a raise in anxiety when i don’t have it i sleep better if i have a coffee late at night???? Why???

The name coffee is the most misleading and confusing word that I can think of , for the same person it may cause stomach ache and headache , or stabilize blood pressure depending on what coffee we are talking about... espresso has much less caffeine when compared with other methods by same amount of beans , therefore, I can only handle espresso made by 100% arabica beans and usually with milk or adding water to make americano . Can the studies be extrapolated to drinking tea? I drink coffee because i aoreciate and enjoy excelent coffee. I am not addicted to coffee, i don't have to have a coffee. For baristas coffee is an occupational hazard. Many are now limiting their daily intake.
My mom and dad drank coffee all their lives with nothing added. Mom lived to be 89 and dad 86. What got them was brain bleeds. Dad from his drinking beer and mom began with a small stroke and then many falls afterward cause her care taker didn't watch over her well. She would still be living if they had not let her choke to death on her food while lying on the kitchen floor. They were not into being healthy or exercise.

It has lots of caffeine and the caffeine like dangers druge. I know coffee give lots of benefit for body. But mom don't believe it. What should i do?

You’re the exception not the rule. It’s a stimulant- this is scientifically proven to keep you awake- why else would people drink it to stave off tiredness?
@@Beccanator007 yes, it keeps you awake right after you drink it, then the effect fades. we drink it even at 5-6 pm and we still sleep perfectly sell at night. my grandma can have coffee even at 11 pm and goes to sleep later like nothing happened.
Hi Folks, I rarely disagree with James, and never on coffee, but there are benefits to Tobacco, or more accurately, to nicotine. Most drugs are (crude terms) uppers or downers, stimulants or suppressants, I believe nicotine is the only, known, mediator, (suppressant of you are stimulated and stimulant if you are suppressed). Now the disadvantages far out way any benefits (at the moment) but there are reasons to consider it.
No its not. Be precise. Coffee is a drink obtained from coffee beans, which will have been sprayed with an insecticide at some point in their cultivation. By your exact rationale apples are an insectide as are cabbages and broccoli.
Too much or too little of anything is bad. To get the health benefits from coffee you really need to drink it straight without any milk added. When you add milk it prevents the good stuff in coffee from beinng absorbed by your body. Best not to drink it every single day. Have a break from it for a few days every week. IANAD DYOR.
The interviewer is not to bright. Four grams of fibre that's not a lot then realises it is and still only used 1 cup as daily intake. My daily coffee easily covers all fibre required.
