That was my second gaming laptop and I purchased it without looking at the reviews, after it stopped working I looked the reviews from bestbuy and it’s a common issue where the screen blackout or the keyboard stop working when you first unbox it. In my case my screen stopped working after a week or 2 of using it.

Just bought a 15" with the 11th gen i5 for $749 from Best Buy. Going to immediately upgrade RAM and SSD. Took a week to pull the trigger because all the benchmarks and reviews just seem too good to be true for the price point. Great video.

The ventilation of Lenovo is very poorly designed. Tge temperature got over 85°C (over average) in the first week, while I was playing Rome 2 Total War.

You can boost performance by undervolting the processor. There are instances where it might consume too much power, which might cause thermal throttling. Also, I recommend upgrading to 16GB 2666mhz since the laptop only came with a 2400mhz 8gb. If you have the money, upgrade the half size M.2 SSD to a full size Samsung EVO SSD.

The laptop didn’t actually have any backlight bleed. That was just ips glow and it can be expected with any ips display. I believe there is a techquickie video that explains this

Dante Madrilejos it came without an hdd, you can install it though, in the box there’s the cable. You can add either an 2,5 hdd or an 2,5 ssd (and there’s a second slot for an m2 nvme if you want even more storage)

Why can't computer manufacturer ditch out the whole black and red stereotype of gaming laptop? Why not make the laptop look like the Asus Zenbook 3 with royal blue and gold colors with the specification of a gaming laptop. I personally like the Nitro 5 specs but god help me, fuck the colors. How well does this laptop handle world of Warcraft? Does anyone know? I’m seriously considering buying this one. I only ever really play wow and I need something where my laptop doesn’t want to set itself on fire and be able to turn the graphics up so my eyes don’t bleed.
I have same laptop. It's ok but nothing special. In Warzone on the lowest settings it's dropping fps to 45 in some moments. Fallout 4 also droping fps in Boston centre. Quite good for casual gaming. If you want to play online on some lvl it's not a good choice.

are you sure, battlefield V at medium settings and you could go for only 57fps? Because mine can go up to 62fps at Ultra settings though. No tweaks no overclocking done, just fresh out of the box. Weird.

if you primairly game, the nitro 5. the cooling on the lenovo isnt as good. its underneath the laptop and slightly in the back. but not great.
l340 cant run on dual chanal ram so if u insert 1 more ram to nitro it warranty that nitro 5 is at least 10 percent faster

Battery deteriorating takes some time probably at least a year or two depending on usage and no I didn't observe any creaking.

The heat sink grease is a problem with these laptops. Many people have has success replacing the original thermal grease.
What happened to the hdd memory? Can you upgrade more memory aside from 512 ssd? Add up 1 terabite hdd to it?

No reason to switch down refresh rate. In game settings will need to be tweaked to reach those framerates though.

mine arrived DOA today. was pissed off to say the least, but curry's said theyu will replace. this is the first time in my 20 years on earth that i've had a DOA electronic (either my luck has been really good, or i got unlucky this time, but i saw other reports online, should've heeded them...)

Yes it is i own this laptop but the 2020 version get the 2020 version with better specs for same price

Same issue. The Asus Strix G looks a bit weak to me and also doesn't have a webcam but the RGB lighting looks great. Totally confused

the only advantages of this laptop to L340 is that it supports dual channel and a free laptop sleeve out of the box haha.
Yeah, dual channel is pretty big for me personally. However, it won't make a difference for a lot of people. L340 is an excellent laptop.

I am still happy the i5 has good performance compared with i7. But yes, temperatures are not that great and this laptop thermal throttled.
