    I love that your apartment really is tiny , when you see other you tubers show so called tiny space’s they’re no where near tiny , your space saving ideas are brilliant thank you.

      Thank you Barbara! Yes I notice that too! Especially on Insta.. It seems 'one person's tiny, is another person's ENOURMOUS" . I just moved to a 46sqm apt & to me that's HUGE now, so I feel weird posting under 'This Tiny Space' now but to other people, 46sqm IS tiny! 😅

    I really really like how confident you are with your space. Most TH-camrs who present their tiny apartment seem to apologize for their choice to live in such a small flat. You are just fine with it. Plus your home is beautiful and well planned so you make the most of it. It was fun watching, I'll come back to your channel. All the best for you. Anne from Germany

    • @thistinyspace
      @thistinyspace  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thanks so much Anne! It's funny because I was ashamed about it for a long time. I had moved to a new city & didn't want to share & this was all I could afford...& I was embarrassed by that. But I did some work on it & I grew to love it & the freedom it gave me. There are millions of people who live in tiny spaces, for different reasons, so I thought I'd get over myself & share how I make it work. Best decision ever! Thanks again for your kind words 🥰

    It is amazing what you have done with such a tiny space. It is very well organised, and I loved your presentation style. I hope you don’t have to pay a small fortune in rent each month for living in it, but even micro-apartments in the major cities seems to be incredibly expensive these days,. Thanks for the video

    • @thistinyspace

      Thank you so much Luke! Yes rent in Sydney is crazy high & it really cost more than it should for what it is, but what can ya do!! Its the cheapest I could find that was totally self contained, but yes, still over priced (I think anyway) for what it is. Thank you for your lovely compliments!! :)

      @@katbar6066 Thanks so much! It did take me a few months to jack it out to be fair, and there was A LOT of trial and error, but I was determined to use every millimetre! I used an induction hotplate from IKEA which tucked in under my sink & a tiny airfryer for anything that required an oven. I have a whole series of detailed IGTV mini vids that I must upload because they go into more detailed specifics. But I crammed A LOT into that tiny space!!!

      Haha! I see so many accounts on Insta of small space wardrobes where the person who lives there only seems to have 5 items of clothing, each peice is perfect & either white, beige or pale salmon ( to match the decor) and no one ever seems to have more than one pair of shoes! It's a pet peeve, can you tell 😅

      Hi Kim, I have an IKEA induction hotplate (instead of a stove top) which tucks in under the sink perfectly and a mini air-fryer (which I use instead of an oven) which I keep in the cupboard (which is why you don't see them!} Because the entire countertop space is less than 100cm INCLUDING the sink, I like to keep the space clear & useable when I'm not cooking, so it looks like I don't have cooking appliances, but I do! Thanks for your lovely compliments about my homemade pop out bench, I was pretty pleased with myself!:

    I've seen other videos of tiny apartments that were staged, but you really appear to live here. You're well organized! There's a surprising amount of storage space, and it looks like you have a balcony for living area in good weather. I could see myself living there, though I would tuck a desk in that nook with your mini-library. This is perhaps the best micro studio I've seen on TH-cam.

      Ah thank you Bob!!! That's so kind! I tried to utilize every possible millimetre of the space to maximize the storage & made quite a few adjustments to the wardrobe configuration so I could get more in! yes the balcony is FANTASTIC! It gets used every single day, even in winter. You can't really tell from the video but the mini library is up high on the wall above the bed, (inbetween the wall cupboard & the balcony door) so no room for a desk there, BUT I use the pop out I made for the kitchen as a desk! I use the stool from the balcony as my chair & it works a treat! Thanks again for your lovely compliments 🤗

    Kogan sell Ovela kitchen pot set with removable handles same as the Tefal for a fraction of the price (I bought a set a couple of months ago for $45 against the similar Tefal set at $299). It's many years since I lived in Sydney, but honestly, I'm appalled that any place in Australia would have the temerity to even build something this tiny. Of course, Sydney has always been overpriced, so I guess it's the only way you could afford to live there now. You've done a marvellous job of decorating your little shoebox. I have a Tiny House (28 sq m) that I had built with lots of storage built in, so I appreciate all of your clever hacks and finishes. It sure makes my place seem like a mansion size wise though.

So the width of the bathroom was about 90cm & I'm guessing about 200cm long?? Personally I'd have designed it as a wet room to allow for a normal sized sink!! Hope that helps!!

    • @thistinyspace
      @thistinyspace  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah thanks so much Grace!!! isn't Nuxe the best!! the smell...so good. The products I use most are by a company called Trilogy and the packaging is lovely, so what you see on the shelf is mainly used products, that once they run out, I just wash and reuse the bottle / jar/ tub. I'm not sure where you live but we have a store in Sydney called Diaso and they sell similar bottles. The label maker I use is from Dymo, you want the one that is mechanical (ie not battery operated) if you google "Dymo Embossing Label maker" it will come up. I ordered mine online & a few of the letters didn't work, so if you can, buy it in a store, that way you can return it easier if there are any issues! I have a more detailed vid I made for IGTV for insta about the bathroom if you're on the gram that you might find useful! :)

    Good use of space with the Ikea closets, and the pull-out shelf above the fridge. The only thing I'd probably add is color. I would paint to both section-off "rooms," and to create a mood.

    • @thistinyspace
      @thistinyspace  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! It was a LOT of trial and error trying to maximize the storage! I actually started out with loads of colour because that's my personal style but the space was so incredibly small that it just didn't work, it make the room feel messy and smaller so I had to work with a pallet that matched the black wall of the balcony which was the main focal point (which you don't see in the video) and it made it flow much better, I couldn't wait to get back to colour when I moved out 18 months later to a "normal' sized apartment!! 😂

    I'm curious about your wardrobe (because I've been working on a capsule for myself). How many pants, shirts, sweaters, shoes do you have? What was most obviously important to you as you decided what you could keep in your closet? If you want to share.

    • @thistinyspace
      @thistinyspace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Eleanor, I kept all my clothes & got rid of nothing which was a very deliberate personal choice! all the other flats in the building use the closet closest to the kitchen as a pantry for storing cooking equipment , crockery & dried/ tinned food but I didn't want to get rid of any of my clothes so I worked hard at absorbing those things else where in the studio so I could use that closet for clothes. I moved shelves around & fitted a rail so I could double the internal space & used vac pac bags for off season stuff in storage boxes at the the top. Crammed into the entire closet is about 30 pairs of pants, 60 tops/ tshirts & 80 coats/dresses, about 8 jumpers and A LOT of underwear!! I did a few more detailed IGTV videos for insta which you might find useful @thistinyspace. Good luck with your new efficient capsule wardrobe!

    I've lived 13 years in a 12 sqm apartment in Copenhagen and now got a 48 sqm apartment about 400 m down the same road. Every day I pass my old place on my bike and miss it. The sounds through the walls (lousy insolation), the neighbors (shared common kitchen), the messy hallways (shifting cleaning ladies). Everything. I only had 1 room and a bathroom in the 12 sqm one but now I have a kitchen, a bathroom, a hallway, a bedroom, and a living room. But only furniture for the bedroom and no kitchen gear and I just cannot feel at home. I know it's a luxury problem but I feel almost agoraphobic. The living room is empty and it roars when walking through it. We Danes love our cozy vibes and smaller living spaces and although 12 sqm is on the very smaller side, it never felt too small for me.
