It's not a studio if it doesn't have it's own bathroom and kitchenette. It's a room for rent. Don't let the realtors fool you with their terminology. And technically "micro" studios are illegal in NYC but then again many housing things are in NYC
Micro apartments are illegal in NYC. A legal minimum is 150sq. ft. NOT including bathroom and kitchen in the square footage. With the 150 square feet you must additionally have Kitchen and bath. Kitchen MUST have stove, refrigerator, sink and a cabinet plus a vent (fire safety) and bathroom MUST have sink, toilet and shower or tube. This in Boston is most probably an illegal 'apartment' due to it's size. Have some dignity when searching for apartments. Don't settle on what these landlords are doing illegally to you. Plus an average prison cell in the US is 92 square feet.
I had that glass coffee table in my last apartment...so nice...I highly recommend it too !! (check multiple sites though, the prices can high to more affordable depending on where you look).
Technically it is a 'microwave shelf stand'? I can no longer find the one I ordered, but it's something like this: www.amazon.com/GEMITTO-Microwave-Expandable-Kitchen-Capacity/dp/B07CYLRBGH/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Microwave+Oven+Rack+Shelf+Stand+with+Hooks%2C+Expandable+Adjustable+Kitchen+Countertop+Storage+Organizer%2C+Space-saver&qid=1619548442&sr=8-1
I do have a bike! I park it outside in the back alley (double locked) a lot of people in the area get covers for their bikes as well to protect from the elements.
Would you be able to get like a loft bed so then you have more space? Because I’ve seen from like small apartments and like I think people should like get lofted beds I know those cheap ones from IKEA just so they have more floor space.
If you don't have an oven a toaster oven is just as good. Living small is about finding lots of things that do two things at once. Almost everything from my lounge stool to my island/butchers block has storage in it, or as part of it. I even got storage racks from Ikea as well as one of the Kallax 5x5. Living in a small space generally also is about keeping things clean and tidy. It's hard to do when you've got such a small space. I like it, but your coat hook is really busy. You could fit another shelf underneath your kitchen bar also for that small American sized studio kitchen. I live here in Australia in about the same sized space and I was able to fit a double. Although a lot of my storage space is vertical... Which using vertical space also helps in such a small space. If you want space for a bed and you're willing to go up, you can use a loft bed and put the couch underneath it.
