  • The pinnacle of language analysis was reached in the Aṣṭādhyāyī of Pāṇini (circa 4th C BCE) which provided a comprehensive linguistic description of Sanskrit. Aṣṭādhyāyī was instrumental in codifying the language variations of Sanskrit and became the standard henceforth and amounted to the preservation of Sanskrit language for centuries to come. This presentation highlights the salient features of Pāṇini's great work in the context of language preservation history.
