The best septet to bless this earth The best trumpet player in Australia All in the same room Playing a piece made by Maynard Ferguson, ANOTHER amazing trumpet player This is all too much for me For the time is saw James Morrison play live And i got to play onstage with him I just ripped a trom solo out And that man still managed to work around a solo he had never heard. Honestly, these people are incredible. The world is lucky to have them.
Ryan Smith Everythign you said is correct... Except for the part about Ferguson making this song (Made by: Joseph Zawinul of the band Weather Report) But yeah man I was just scrolling through recommendations and I found this amazing arrangement and wow it builds upon the whole song
Alex Paulsen do you even know who James is? I absolutely cannot believe you just described him as nothing special. The only thing not special here is your knowledge of what is truly going on. Do some research before you go around trash talking one of the greatest jazz trumpeters around. Thank you
Ok... that arrangement of Birdland was BEAST!!!! Seriously, this was easily the most entertaining version of the song I have ever heard! So effin COOL!!!!
Es ist schon fast erschreckend, wie wenig unheimlich der Herr Paul aussieht, wenn er die Haare zusammen hat und einfach nur Jeans und Karohemd trägt :-)
That's a funny way to put it. I agree. It is so crazy. But he didn't feel really free on the end to just play. He had to keep looking to see how close they were and they could have set him in a better way to know how much space there was to just play anything. He is hard to even believe.
This is what music is
Just having fun
We " play " an instrument
So why don't we have fun while we play ;)
Ima go back playing

I'm amazed at how James was able to improvise all that on the fly and it sounded pretty dang good!
thats what it is meant with improvising ;)
Learn a jazz scale, play any note in said scale, it always sounds acceptable. That's Jazz for you, nothing special happening here.

4:00 i nearly had a heart attack the way James was balancing his trumpet.
Composer is another Austrian Joe ZAWINUL, a lot would come from the players them selves
Leonard Paul the Mnozil trombonist.
tocam muito! very good
does mnozil have this arrangement for sale?
Zawinul may be Austrian, but Morrison is Australian. There is a difference!
Yeah but the other guys on that stage are Austrian, except for Zoltan, the guy in black on the trombone, he‘s Hungarian
exellent!!

What kind of trombone(?) is the one on the left with the loop in it? Looks like an alto trombone to me. But why the loop?
Max Mustermann it is just a tenor trombone with a trigger (f attachment)
I think that's James' flugelhorn. Its a really weird rotary design, I think it was custom made
