True. At one point, he was matching McGrath on account of wickets as well accuracy but then he started going downhill 2005 Ashes onwards, otherwise he was good for 400 Test wickets.
I still can't forget that frustrating partnership he did with Damien Martyn in the heat of nashik I think, he came as night batsmen and played till next day afternoon
@@aneetjojysam4488 That isn't true at all. Both innings were highly regarded at the time but they aren't remembered now because they were just half centuries and people forget was a terrible pitch it was.
Sachin had been undergoing tennis elbow during this period. What made Sachin great wasn't his tons of hundreds, it was his ability to play against top bowlers on tough pitches.
The main reason Australia was able to win this series is that they kept VVS quiet in first 3 games. Excluding this innings, he scored a combined 54 in rest of the 6 innings he played.
That's what test cricket is you always have chance to come back unlike t20s and one dayers. I'm not saying that you don't come back in shorter formats but there is so little time in shorter formats compare to test cricket.
The best team will usually win in test cricket. In white ball cricket, that's not the case. The best team doesn't always win. Sachin inaugurated the Sachin Tendulkar stand... Remember
Watching McGrath and Gillespie bowl is an eduaction on fast bowling. I should de-enroll myself from my university and watch their videos 8 hrs/day!
VVS coming at number 3 in the second innings played well and Sachin attacked in the second innings. Good knocks by both Sachin and VVS
VVS and Tendulkar batted brilliantly on this awful pitch... those two knocks are probably their most underrate innings
