Ashley is the kind of doctor we all wish we were lucky enough to have, compassionate, smart as all get out, great bedside manner, and cautious. They need to clone him or make him to prototype for all doctors❤
I was so moved by Ashley’s story. To be stabbed and no one stop, that’s horrendous. He’s such a beautiful soul. I could never walk by someone suffering and not assist them. As a doctor, saving lives daily, it must have broken his heart that no one cared for him in return. I just wanted to hug him. Also Leigh, what an incredible man. He’s seen some terrible things in his life and he’s averted others suffering too. He deserves to find his soulmate, someone who can give him the warmth and love he so obviously wants to give in return.
And nothing said about annihilation of white farmers, their wives & children raped then tortured to death in front of the man of the house, in Zimbawe nobody was innocent! What is the excuse for the same rape, torturing farmer murders atrocities occurring in South Africa after the new democracy and these atrocities are cheered on by political leaders chanting "kill the farmer ", Lee should tell the whole story, maybe his comments were edited to be politically correct, after all it depends on your skin colour whether murdering, damaging property or rioting is justified & not considered crimes?
Oh my! I had to do a double take on Beth! She’s from Brandon Manitoba Canada… and I live just under 2 hours north in Dauphin Manitoba Canada!! Oddly enough my grandmother had a similar injury only she slipped on ice.. with open fractured ankle! She was 87 so took a bit longer to heal but she’s still going strong! She will be 91 in 2024!!
I felt concerned about Beth returning home to all those stairs and having to navigate them with a boot on. I have the same amount of stairs here at home and have done it with a boot it’s not the easiest. Glad your grandmother is doing well after such an injury. Cheers from Australia.
I adore this show! Leigh totally impressed me, what a life he has lived and by his stories you could tell he was a man of honor. Best of luck Leigh! I hope you find your soulmate!
Ashley's Story touched me! Beeing stabbed without anybody noticing or stopping is horrible and he wanting to get to the hospital he's working at is so sweet ❤ hoping since it's been a while since the filming of this people have improved and are being decent human beings 😂
Ashley’s experience matches my own. We the assaulted seem to be invisible to those surrounding us who could be of comfort and assistance. There is no sense of civic duty or empathy.
It's not just the elderly. I totaled my month and a half old car in a three car accident that I technically caused (although I think the lady who hit me was speeding, but she had the right of way). I paid for the car, but the first thing I did when I saw my dad was apologize for crashing my car. You kind of freak out when something like that happens. Your thoughts are all jumbled, and you latch onto something that is really insignificant. Luckily, nobody was seriously injured in the accident.
@@nicolemoore3275it’s not an elderly thing, it’s a natural human response in traumatic situations. Your brain tries to focus on anything else, and often will worry about another person, thing, object, etc. instead of having to worry about the trauma
My heart broke for you Ashley hearing of your ordeal and no one stopping to help. To hear you took yourself to your workplace so you could be surrounded by friends and those who loved you is just heartbreaking. I am glad they were there for you and helped you heal from your injuries too xx. You have a beautiful bedside manner with your patients and are a beautiful soul ❤ I love hearing the background stories of the patients. Leigh is another example of an incredible upbringing and life despite it being horrific at the time. You are strong and deserve every happiness in the world.
Great small town. I used to go skiing there when I was stationed in Minot, ND. We used to joke about never seeing Manitoba car plates. We figured there were only 50 people in the entire Province and they happy to stay there.
It's okay; a soulmate could be a romantic partner, your best friend, or a close relative. What matters is a very deep connection with that person, understanding and love. And you've got years and years still to find one--maybe you had one once and you never even knew it until you think back later.
I understand your post.im getting on in years with chronic diseases .a husband with a temper.my son is probably the best son anyone could hope for so I'm lucky in that respect .
Ashley I can’t believe nobody stopped to help him I’m in Australia if anyone needs help i would stop and help those people who didn’t help should be ashamed of themselves..
We had a buddy loose a thumb water skiing and he had a toe replace the thumb so we asked him what he called it and he said it was either a thoe or a tumb what a sense of humor
I noticed the man who came from Zimbabwae I think he said. What touched me about him was the fact he was so happy in the simple life, that everyone was poor and everyone got on. Then it all changed. He didn't say when he came to the UK. But I am guessing the change was the catalyst
He then moved to South Africa, met a lovely gal, settled down and a few years after the kids were born he realized that he wasn't in a happy marriage and that he didn't have a way out
To the brother who hurt his eye…you have probably already met your mate for life, if not I promise you will one day! Most wait years before they find their sole-mate, just don’t stop living a full and enjoyable life safely in the here and now You got this 😊
I don't know how old this video is, but I like the doctor Ashley. I don't like complimenting people but I wanna do it here because I think it's well deserved. If you read this, you seem to be a very good guy, with a big heart, smart, down to earth, humble, brave and on top of that very cute. Everything that I find attractive in a man ^^. I hope you're happy. A french girl. :)
I knew a man a lot like john, he would come in and talk to me about music and always had a story to tell that reminded him of another story and another and so on for hours if he was allowed. he did talk to me about horoscopes too 😂 he would talk right out the door just like john getting rolled out in the chair
If you live on your own, you can purchase a small key safe that uses a code so emergency services can gain access to your home. They are sold at hardware stores and only around $20. A lot of air b-n-b’s use them.
I heard of 😢a man that fell off the bus into a snowbank and it was very cold out in Regina Saskatchewan and people went by and nobody helped him and in the end a baker saw him the next morning and called 911 but it was too late and he died so they’re telling people even if you see somebody down call for an ambulance or you don’t have to touch them or go near them but call anambulance
It’s surprised me hearing where Beth was from because my ex-husband his family lives in Brandon Manitoba. After I left him, I thought that was it for Manitoba thank goodness we never lived there, but I just had so many bad memories of when we used to go visit his family. I’m glad Beth met her second husband and had happiness with him when he was alive. I met my second husband and we were together 30 years and 355 days. He passed away on June 2/21. We may be widows now, but we were the happiest wives then. I love what Luke’s brother said to him about one thing that he’d like to see Luke change because that’s the word I came up with. It’s awful when people are happy in their lives and new regime Heads your country in their murderers and they want to turn you into one. They haven’t grown away from being tribesmen and they’ve been fighting against each other for hundreds and hundreds of years if not, thousands. It’s nice to see Leigh ballroom dancing. I hope he gets to meet his lovely lady there.
Mr. Long John Silver over there and I are both Libras ❤ 😂 We're quirky like that. I've been compared to a pirate, and I talk a ton. I love that old dude, he seems so fun.
As a law scholar, reading International, I guess the unilateral independence decisin the old men is talking about would be the Southern Rhodesia self determination declaration that failed the test for statehood.
I like them twins...good relationship. Reminds me of my brother too, not a twin but close....but hey...my mother poisoned our relatioship with her toxicity.
Im 64 and my gall bladder basically blew up. The hospital here in the USA let me be in excuciating pain for three days. I had to crawl to the restroom. The staff in US hospitals are rude and hateful towards older people.
As an American, I notice people get hit by cars frequently in the UK and there are a lot of stabbing. Granted we Americans do shoot each other frequently but still. Just an observation watching this show.
I really enjoy the humanity of these stories, the thoughts of everyone, patient, families and staff. At the very end of this episode I saw a nurse is dragging a patient backwards in a wheeled bath chair. I spent all my working life in hospitals and have see this way of transporting a patient too often. I think it's dangerous to pull with the patient behind you...if something happens you have no safe control of anything. I also think it's very disrespectful to 'drag' someone around facing backwards rather than pushing them facing so they can see what is coming.
- if you watch the video to the very end, you’d see that the doors at St George’s don’t open automatically. If she did push the patients first, they’d slam the patient’s feet and legs into the closed doors. There was also very little room to turn a large chair like that around in the cramped hallways. I personally, would prefer to go backwards, rather than hit the doors or be spun around every time we had to go through the doors and then spun back again when on the other side of them. I’m sure they do it that way for a reason, not meaning to disrespect the patients. ✌🏻💜 for the New Year from 🇨🇦
Ashley’s story to me like it just like no offence but it just says like what the hell is wrong with some people how could you just walk past somebody stabbed like how
Do the receptionists have a dress code of a black or dark blue top with white dots? Because far too many of them are wearing the same top for it to be a coincidence.
I really don’t understand racism I mean personally I just love everybody. Everybody has something to offer. Everybody is beautiful to me at least people who are in any racist I really don’t get you
Leigh's story was heartbreaking. You know a good soul when he refuses to kill another man just bc he isn't white. Our world is in a mess now bc governments have became the ones making decisions that tear us apart.
Mr. Long John Silver has the most glorious eyebrows I’ve ever seen! He sees like quite a character!

Also he is not bad on the eyes
Such courage and conviction! Mad respect for Leigh, who walks his talk no matter what.
That elderly gentleman with the swollen foot is quite the character. Really liked him.
I loved him too. Eccentric but in the best of ways. What a charmer!
Captain Jack after a few too many years of a few too many spirits.

Being alone in situation like that has just got to be one of the most ugh I really appreciate that guys viewpoint
This program reveals how essential kindness is…❤️
What terrible atrocities Leigh lived through in Zimbabwe, Absolute cruel and horrible violation of human rights.

Lol, The twins are smart , handsome and hilarious 😂.

I agree 💯. It's beyond comprehension that not one person at least phoned for an ambulance. They didn't have to stop. Simply call for help. SMH.
This show is like 8 years old, I think. Crime in London is now far worse...
His story touched me as well!!! 🥰🙏🏼🙌🏼
Not bloody likely, now, is it!?????! 1 John 5:19

The twins are wonderful!! Their ears match but they think so differently.
I, too, noticed the matching ears!
Dr Ashley seems to be a wonderful man. Kind, empathetic, a deep feeling and thinking man. God bless him.
Open fracture but goddamn the blood on the new carpet!

Thank you 🇬🇧 for my favorite series. I'm a retired ER, ambulance, and helicopter flight RN. It's very enjoyable watching and reminiscing. 🇺🇸
Thank you for the extra effort you put in it’s greatly appreciated cheers from Queensland Australia

The story of Beth being born in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, I lived there for 5 years as a child. Such a small world.
I live in Dauphin!! Very small world!
Great small town. I used to go skiing there when I was stationed in Minot, ND. We used to joke about never seeing Manitoba car plates. We figured there were only 50 people in the entire Province and they happy to stay there.
Lived in Brandon as well-beautiful city! Now from Winnipeg-go Jets!
As soon as I heard her voice, I could tell she was from Manitoba.
This episode brought home to me the lack of a soul mate

Ashleys story made me really sad. No one stopping!!! Thats horrible. Bless him. Glad his ok🙏🏻

What a wonderful doctor for this wonderful woman God bless her

Leigh is a sweetheart. I hope he finds his lady love. He deserves that. We all need & deserve to be loved.
Dr. Ashley is so kind and thoughtful. The gentleman from Zimbabwe was lovely, so compassionate and strong. John was a train wreck!

He said it was unilateral independence of Zimbabwe that changed everything
Update, the independence of white Zimbabweans
He then moved to South Africa, met a lovely gal, settled down and a few years after the kids were born he realized that he wasn't in a happy marriage and that he didn't have a way out
He waited until the kids grew up and moved out before divorcing
Exceptional episode. Ashley's and Leigh's stories were very touching. Beth is a lovely woman. ❤
ER was never for me. I was comfortable dealing with dementia, geriatrics, oncology. Just retired as a Hospice nurse.
Thank you for what you have done. Hospice caregivers are so special to my heart.
@@Axelsmom I retired last year, & it took me 6 months to get used to not seeing patients & helping families learn to say Good-bye.
