Yeah I coded it into my mk6 Jetta😂 it’s nice for the summer time or when I forget to close my sunroof I can use my key to do it rather than going outside and doing it
@@lukasshort3618How do you do that? Does it require a vag-com or something? I’ve got a Mk6 and am tired of having to put my key in the door lock to roll all the windows down from the outside.
Although there's pros, there's also cons for this feature. My key fob fell into water, although I tried to dry it. The next morning I found my vw car windows rolled down and sun roof tilted open.🤔
Or if you live in Pacific North West and parks your car outside. It rains here a lot and while I was trying to tie my shoes and my keyfob in my pocket got jammed inside and accidentally started opening my windows and moon (sun) roof. Good thing it was just very light sprinkles so I quickly went to my car after seeing everything open up. I turned it off in my car setting after that. I have a 24 honda civic sport touring😂
I thought I'd try this on my 2024 Seat Ibiza FR seeing as it is essentially just a Polo underneath and, lo and behold, it does it! Nifty little feature!
My new Mazda3 hatch does this and i cross shopped and looked at the GTI but the audio and climate "sliders" put me off. I also prefer the Mazda key because your can get painted key shells or leather or carbon fiber, and it feels really premium.
my honda accord did this too and im pretty sure my 1st car (toyota 4runner) had this feature as well which was a big deal just having power windows ...1998 🥴 i will say i didnt know i had that feature for a good while back then though
My Mk7 ford fiesta also does this... I always thought it was just a german thing as of my previous cars, only the VW Polo and Seat Ibiza did this, but so does the fez.. so apparently not haha!
Idk if our current car can, but I know our q50 could. You do it while you're walking to your car so it's not so hot anymore by the time you get there. If I remember correctly it could also start the engine and the aircon. They did show us how to do it but we're traditional in certain ways and don't bother with these things. I still don't like how automatics creep forward if you release the brake. It freaks me out that there's no clutch to press to stop it.
Not every car has this feature. Some Kia's don't have it at all whilst the Kia Optima had it up and down, Hyundai don't have it, Alot of Japanese cars don't have this feature. Also some Peugeot, Citroen and Renault cars you can only wind them up but not down. The Peugeot 508 you can do up and down.
You’ll find that all VW Golf’s from about the Mk3 Golf onwards did this with the car remote key. It’s not a hidden or new feature. It’s been standard for decades
And if yoy turn on comfort remote control using VCDS or obdeleven do you dont have to press and hold all the way upon locking/closing just hold it until you see windows rolling up and release it the windows and sunroof will keep closing
Back in the days when i had an audi a3, i slept couple of times with my keys in my pocket and didnt knew how my windows went open from a distance. Now i know haha so never sleep with your keys in the pocket!
My first car, '08 vauxhall corsa had this. Its one feature I was sad about losing when getting my second car but it turns out volvo v40s do it too 🤷♂️
Our old accord had this feature. The key was in my wife’s purse one day when we were at a store and it was raining. We came out to our car with all windows and sunroof open and the interior was completely soaked. Apparently something in her purse had pressed on the unlock button long enough for it to trigger the feature. Bad luck lol
That's a feature from as far back as the Golf Mk3. 1994. Mine still works.
Some jetta has it too !!
Comes in a pinch when your door handle breaks😒😒
Passat has it too
Mmmmmm i love it
90s accords do it too, with the key
My golf from 1764 did this
My golf 4 from 24 years ago could do this.
My Golf from 4000 BC can do this
Every German car got this or at least can be coded in😂
Yeah I coded it into my mk6 Jetta😂 it’s nice for the summer time or when I forget to close my sunroof I can use my key to do it rather than going outside and doing it

@@moffatk7948 don't do that
Tip. Never do this by accident when the car is frozen. It broke my sunroof before.
It won't break it, the sunroof has a safety cut out though.
it won’t break the sunroof won’t open if it’s obstructed
I did this and now I can’t use the key method to open or close anything
Or never do it by the ocean at night when you roll over onto your keys. Woke up to a wet wet interior.

All VW’s have been able to do this since the late 1990’s
This is common across a lot of cars. Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Ford, GM, VW, BMW, and others all have this feature on their models.
I had a car in 1922 that did this
It first came out in the 1918 model though
Pardon me there, you mean you had a 1922 model or you had one in the year?
back in the ice age me and my boys used to do this all the time
my 2004 gti already had this feature
I would love this Gti.. My family woupd really enjoy it.
Now if they can only make a decent water pump seal🤔
Gti and the water pump is always a thing. 😢
I think you're asking them for too much😅😂
I thought I'd try this on my 2024 Seat Ibiza FR seeing as it is essentially just a Polo underneath and, lo and behold, it does it! Nifty little feature!
My 2012 Golf did that you could recode the central electronics control module(J519) and unlock the feature.
I loved this feature on my MK7 GTI in the hot summer days, this feature really should be standard on every car!
One of the best features. I use it all the time.
I really wish I knew about that on my 2007 GTI.
So annoyed that the back windows STILL do not roll down all the way!
They do that for a very good reason, the back seats of cars are primarily the habitat of Children
@@Geoff-n1d nope, its because the wheel arch is in the way. most cars have this problem.
It’s a safety feature
My son hates it 😂
@@Geoff-n1d There's also no room in the door for the glass, because the door is cut aroudn the rear tire.
If you have keyless entry, you can also press and hold your finger against the handle and it will do the same,
i'll have to try this!
Yes. My 2015 Ford Kuga has the same feature.
Remember finding this feature on accident with my first car, a MK5 GTI
On my honda civic sport u hit the unlock button twice, rolls down too. Kinda cool. I think newer toyotas the same.
My new Mazda3 hatch does this and i cross shopped and looked at the GTI but the audio and climate "sliders" put me off. I also prefer the Mazda key because your can get painted key shells or leather or carbon fiber, and it feels really premium.
My 2024 S4 can indeed do this too. VWs been doing it for decades.

I had to code this on my 2012 GTI, it was a one owner vehicle. Bone stock and in perfect condition 👌🏼
More features added with the OBDELEVEN
My 2002 lexus does that, as well as my 2008 and 2014 lexus 😊
which model? My Parents have 2 Lexus, an IS350 and an RX350 and they both don't do this.
Small gimmick but I Love it 😍
You discovered the world. Bravo.
Loved that on the mk3
Mustangs have this too. Also most fords and chevys have this feature.
Idk if our current car can, but I know our q50 could. You do it while you're walking to your car so it's not so hot anymore by the time you get there.

S550 Mustang had the global open, it was fun. But it wouldn’t go back up - I was stuck with it open lol
Every car has this feature. My Renault Megane RS, My Alfa Giulia, Alfa Giulietta, Mini Cooper and even a 2007 Mercedes CLK

My mustang didnt have it
I had this on my 1999 VW Bora VR5 4Motion Highline
2015 honda has this feature including sunroof useful to close windows without sitting inside on Auxiliary mode

First time? Yeah right! My W140 S-Class have that feature since 1996
If you have a mark v or newer you can program it to do this with the OBD 11 tool
I am happy with my 3 door, 2017 GTI. 2 windows up and down
had citroen c5 aircross 2019 that could do that - super fun party trick :D
I have a mk4 2door with no sunroof. I’d love a sunroof but whatever. Can I get the key programmed to lower the windows like that?
Che novità! Anche la mia bmw del 2004 lo fà
My 2005 BMW E90 320 does the exact same thing
This feature is available in my polo 2013 😂😂😂
Don’t do it. It’s a Volkswagen. It might blow up
My 1989 bmw 5 series had this and almost every car I’ve had since 🤷🏼♂️
yes i have golf 7.5 2018 and its the same
Same with my seat 2016 Ibiza and Leon
My 14 plate seat Leon did the same.
My 1928 golf gti did that and had apple car play too
My 2020’s Polo do the same thing! 😂😂😂
My fiat doblo from 2001 had this feature
My Audi A6 from 2009 (15y old car) does this as well.
i was able to code this in on all lexus models ive seen, seems to be a really common feature
My 1997 e39 has this feature
My 2005 Infiniti G 35 & 2011 Nissan Altima does the same thing
I have a 23 GTI base model and although it lowers the windows when pressing and holding unlock button they dont go up when holding the lock button 😢
I have the same car and found the same issue
Press and hold the lock button on the door handle to see if that works?
Same here for my 2024 Golf R , is that a problem need to fix?
In Europe, it's activated by default. In America, you need a programmer plugged it to enable the feature because it's off by default.
I had an 1983 Audi 5000 that did the same if you held the key in the unlock position. Hold the key in lock and all windows and sunroof closed.
Great for summer heat. You roll down the windows just as you walk up to your car and you won't feel the oven heat.
I love this car ❤
Did you know, with a VCDS cable you can program tons of VW/Audis to do this
My 1987 honda did that too.
It's a great feature for getaway drivers if they ditch the car just hold the lock button
I will try this tomorrow on my ‘21 thanks.
Wow - the Mk3 Vauxhall Cav did that
My Passat in 1994 already had that feature!
My Golf MKIV does it after i modified eeprom in CCM.
My BMW 330e and Citroen C5 Aircross both do this, in fact i am pretty sure that all cars now will do it.
My wooded wheels from 1400 bc had that feature and still works
Yes, my Superb 2010 does the same and the panorama could open to full wide 🤣
Back in the days when i had an audi a3, i slept couple of times with my keys in my pocket and didnt knew how my windows went open from a distance. Now i know haha so never sleep with your keys in the pocket!
My golf mk4 love it...
My 380 S doesn't roll the windows up. Are there versions that don't have this feature?
Same issue here. And no sunroof either
Does this work on 2013 Jetta tdi?
wow . was für ein Meisterstück ... krass .. sofort kaufen
I’ve had the cs for a year and wasn’t aware of this, wow!
My first car, '08 vauxhall corsa had this. Its one feature I was sad about losing when getting my second car but it turns out volvo v40s do it too 🤷♂️
Dude, the old VW Tourans did this 😅
There are multiple ‘gti’ models, up, polo, golf
Works on my 2008 Passat R36 😀
great my 2009 ford mondeo does the exact same thing
My old Honda has this feature where the sunroof can fully open
1995 Mercedes W202: Yes.
It works in my Volkswagen Polo! 🙂
I have the Cupra Leon and my sunroofe opens until the end when I do this
Yeah, a feature since Golf 3. it’s written in the cars manual.
I look forward to the video where he tells us how the golf can turn it's lights on and when you are done with that you can turn them off again
My Merc from 1997 had that too
Do they still have timing chain issues?

On Renault Megane 3 aswell brother. 😂
I think most vw’s work like that. I’ve only owned a golf gti and a Tiguan but both of them had this feature.
mine doesn’t go back up. only down. is there a setting i have to enable for it to do both on the fob?
I just witnessed the discovery of fire 🔥
I wanna buy this car do we have them in Uganda East Africa
My 2014 mk7 golf does the same
Cars were doing this since the mid-90s
My 2010 polo still does that 😅
love when my 07 tsx does it
