    I did this same thing to my 2012 crew cab. The front and rear badges pop right out. Much easier to do them off the truck. But I was surprised how they held up for 5 years still looked good.

      Hey Mark, I was not aware of that in 2012, the badges just popped off.
      When I replace the back one with the fourth brake light th-cam.com/video/9C0oEctzukc/w-d-xo.html
      It had some pretty aggressive 3M tape on the back of it. Thanks for the tip for the earlier 4th gen owners.

    Am I the only unlucky SOB that got a chrome tailgate handle ??😥😥😥
    2014 Ram Express Crew Cab 4x4
    So far I have added Vision Bomb 20x9 matte black wheels with a -12mm offset, leveling kit, 35x12.5x20 tires, Carvan Competitor series muffler, Rhino Bull bar and Window visors to be able to crack them in the summer and not have to worry about random rain storms in Alabama.

    Nice video. You should try bleaching the plastic and putting some LED lights behind it. :)

    Will this hold up in car washes/storms over time? Already did mine, just curious. Cool vid!

    • @bigdaddyshouse
      @bigdaddyshouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry for the late reply Kyle..... But yeah I believe it or not it is held up perfect. I can't tell you how many car washes I've done plus I unfortunately cannot garage my truck so it's out in the elements all the time. and the emblem is on the front of the truck to boot so between little pebbles and bugs it still looks brand new... I keep telling myself I'm going to do a little follow-up video on all the tiny mods I've done to my truck.
      Thanks for watching and the support brother!

    Did you ever do the LED backlight to the emblem?

    • @bigdaddyshouse
      @bigdaddyshouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't done that yet. I did spend quite a little bit of time looking up things to make it work. Other things to keep getting in the way.....

    Nice job, why not just take the emblem off seems like it would be a lot easier? I pop emblems off all the time it is a little stressful but if you take your time and understand how it is fastened on they go quick.

    Dude, I learned this the hard way. Do not mix plasti dip with a gloss coat unless its the PLasti Dip gloss spray paint itself. That thing will be extremely hard to peel off in the future because youre mixing two different coats. I know its just the emblem but trust me. Its going to be a pain in the ass later after it cooks in the sun. It all turns into glass and it becomes a mess.

    • @bigdaddyshouse
      @bigdaddyshouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mr. Wednesday,
      I knew that going into the project but I was never going to peel it off.
      I probably should have mentioned something like that in the video That's great information for others to read.
      I know others in the RAM forum had sprayed their wheels and then later down the road wanted to peel it off and it just came off in little bits....lol
      Thanks for watching and your support brother!

    How many cans of plastic dip would I need for the front and back logo? I assume 1 can should be able to do 2 logos. Thanks

    • @bigdaddyshouse
      @bigdaddyshouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Chase, I literally just got off the couch to go into the garage and shake the can to see how much was left.
      There is at least 3/4 of a can left.
      One can should be plenty to do two emblems and some...
      Hope this helps brother.
      Thanks for watching and your support!

      big daddy's house awesome! Where do you get them? And we’re your factory headlights projectors as well? I’ve read some reviews of the OLED tube going out.

    • @bigdaddyshouse
      @bigdaddyshouse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rejiii6689 my factory headlights weren't projectors. In fact if you have factory projectors., these will not work. I haven't had any problems with my Oled tubes. Are you reading reviews on this particular headlight made by spyder or some bootleg brand? These lights were not cheap. when I bought mine I paid 320 bucks for them. I hope they never go out! Lol
      At any rate click this link and it will take you to my OLED video. Look in the description and I have the link to the lights.

    Would you do badges the same way or take them off?

    • @bigdaddyshouse
      @bigdaddyshouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I was going to Plasti dip them, I would leave them on the truck because they have some crazy 3M tape on the back of the badges. I personally took them off because I think it's a cleaner look. I made a video on that here if you want to check it out.th-cam.com/video/jfTOg5T7USM/w-d-xo.html
      You can also purchase black badges on Amazon if you want. I bought a black hemi badge from Amazon. I also have a video on that install too.
