The work that went into this is beyond what most artists could afford, as in those days home studios were beyond the reach of anyone who wasn't a top recording artist or engineer/producer. And studio time cost a bomb then. That said, while this is a great pop song, and definitely truly original, it isn't close to her best work. And the excess of the Fairlight use drives me insane, I really dislike it. But it was the latest toy then, but Kate went a bit crazy with it, as she tended to do. But that's creativity, innit?
