- Today I visited a Lego fair in Lock's Heath, which is halfway between Southampton and Portsmouth in Hampshire.
I'd seen the event advertised on Facebook and decided it would be a good event to go to, due to the variety and range of sets that they had advertised would be there.
The event was aimed primarily at families and only cost £1.00 to get in.

Hi Iain it was lovely to see you at our event yesterday, thank you so much for making it over! I'm glad you picked up some nice sets 😁
Great video as usual! Really appreciate you kind comments, hope to see you at another event soon 🤓🖖
Hi Sarah, great to see you again too. Hope you had a successful day.
Iain, great as always. I always look forward to your new video's
Thanks David. Much appreciated
I was going to go to this but engineering works on the railway stopped play!
Glad to see it was a good event, I'll keep an eye out for the next one ☺️
Shame you couldn't make it. I'm sure there will be another one soon
I got expect the minifigures.
You did very well.
Thanks
I thought you would get Lord of The Rings as those sets are liked gold
I didn't want to spend too much!
Great video Iain. A good line up of people attending. What a good selection of sets for a decent price too. I'd love to come over and attend events like these. One day 😆
Thanks Caron. It was definitely worth me visiting this event. A really good selection of unusual and retired sets.
HI lain thank you so much for coming to our event glad you liked it . we work hard to make everyone enjoy the day and im glad you found great bargains , we always aim to have the best sellers at our event like su-rah toys etc and always make sure our prices are the cheapest about etc there will be more events always different and never have the same displays I have been doing these events since 2014 in the area and so pleased that people like you come to the event ... shame I never got time to speak to you maybe next time
Hi. I hope my visit did the event justice. It really was nice to go to a local(ish) event in Hampshire (I live in Nee Milton, Hampshire, so not too far away). The range of sets available was fantastic - so many retired sets that I'd not seen before. Glad I arrived early as it was very busy. Hope to be able to say hi at the next event.
Hi Iain, totally off topic but I thought you may be interested. There is a Lego shop on Gatwick North Terminal so I thought I'd check it out while waiting for my flight. No exclusives but they do have the London Postcard in stock whereas it is out of stock online. But more interesting is next door to the Lego should is a Hamleys. And they are charging £60 for the Harry Potter Siruis's Rescue and £35 for Hogwarts Moments sets! £15 and £10 more than what they're available right next door. Seemed a bit cheeky. Cheers. Brian.
Hi Brian, I'd heard there was a Lego store in Gatwick - I guess it would just be full of smaller sets that are fairly readily available, but hmgoo to know they have the postcard sets. Not a surprise that Hamleys are overcharging. They are a bit of a joke when it comes to their pricing, although they can sometimes have some reasonable deals online.
Great coverage of the event and a couple of bargain purchases!
Thanks. I'm really glad I went.
love your video. Thank you brilliant
Thanks Tony
Over the years I’ve collected slot cars & action man etc. I’ve been to loads of swap meets and fairs but never been to a Lego fair yet. I no not the reason why 🤔
Just have a search online or on Facebook, there will probably be a few local fairs that you could go to
Wow, those prices seemed to be very reasonable!
Yes they were, especially for such old sets
Need to find a tail for lion now as it’s missing
It was a nice little event since the sets were so well priced to justify the journey. I was one of the first few in. I picked up Jabbas Palace, Sanctum Sanctorum, Spider-man ATM Heist, a few battle packs and a monster Fighters set. Spent about £380 but worth over £700
Well done Ollie, look like you go some great bargains there.
I am sure you will make money on The Lone Ranger set. I am not so sure about the build-able figures as you said they weren't very popular at the time.. I am shocked you didn't go for the boxed Turtles set for £20.
There was quite a choice of set there - I don't know that much about the Turtles sets, so stuck to what I know. Great to see such a good and varied selection though.
@@iainsbricks There looked to some excellent sets and great value as well
Great video as ever Iain, question for you or anybody else reading this. What website{s} do you use to check on initial launch year of a set and price movements on retired sets to help with buying/selling decisions, thanks in advance.
Thanks Carl. I use Brickset when checking out the release year and the RRP of Lego sets. I don't really use any sites that keep a regular check on the value of retired sets - I do know camel camel camel can be useful when checking sold listings on Amazon. I generally just use the sold listings on ebay when pricing up my items before a Lego fair.
@@iainsbricks Thanks for the info Iain , just checked out Brickset, just what I need.
Lone Ranger, terrible movie but a few good sets. I loved Stage Coach Escape. That’s only one I kept from range. K2so £10…..bargain. Lego Dimensions were great at those prices. Great video again. I’m sure that stall was still making double at least for cheap sets.
It took me a while to get in the room with all those older sets so I may have missed out on some other bargains. I'm still happy with my choices though.
I would have been even longer at the back of the queue. I usually don’t arrive there until dead on the time. I would have got nothing. Great pick ups 😊
Have you heard the new lego promotion apparently starting this coming Tuesday?
Hi Charlotte - yes, I did see that. May just be a USA thing though. We will see tomorrow if the 5xVip pts will be available everywhere.
@@iainsbricks I was thinking that you just bought theb batwing.
When it was double the points.
I think lego is having hard time selling some of the bigger sets.
I thought lego might put certain ones on 30 percent like they surprised everyone got when lego put the Disney train on for 30 per cent in November 2019. The Disney train had just come I it was like September 2019.
I bought 2 at the time.
@@iainsbricks the weather is extremely bad today across the ocean with hurricane Nicole. Our send bad storm of the season.
Is it really worth the time and hassle, binding up your capital for years? I mean, unless you are a pro and does it big. I can't see this will even out the time spent and money used. Please explain.
For me, this is more of a hobby than a specific career goal. I also have a full time job. I get a lot of enjoyment doing what I do.
@@iainsbricks It seems to me that it goes a bit overhand. Are you sure it's just an hobby? I can't see the joy standing a whole day at a fair and get a few sales, just to turn a set you bought one, two years ago, get a few % back.
Joy is to buy and build sets you like without thinking about money.
Remember that guy during covid, 2020-2022, who just disappeared from YT? The other guy beside the red-hair-top-a-bit-weird-eyed-guy? That guy had a whole house and garage full of boxes.
Not even with a million $ storage worth of Lego, you'd be able to make a living of it. There's just not enough buyers willing to pay for it.
@@rabarebra Just spent Sunday at a National Brick Event and sold quite a bit of Lego, and had a fabulous day - meeting lots of people, chatting to the other traders etc - it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's something I genuinely enjoy doing. I'm never going to be a millionaire selling Lego this way, but for me it's more than just about making money. I do also still enjoy building Lego sets as well of course.
Lol November rain by guns and 🌹 the rock group
It never stopped today!
