Lego Event Preparation - Getting ready for my first National Brick Event in Plymouth on 8th June 24

- I've had less then a week to prepare, but on Saturday 8th June 2024, I will be attending my first National Brick Event (NBE), which will be held at the Life Centre in Plymouth between 10am and 5pm.
Yes, I've been to quite a few other Lego shows and fair over the past few years, but NBE are new events for this year and I've heard great things about them, so I'm really looking forward to taking part in this event.

Hello Iain. Thanks for highlighting NBE. I just registered with them for north of england, i.e., Newcastle,Middlesborough,etc. I got nowhere with BrickFestivals. Im away to get cup of tea and watch your NBE Plymouth event.

The event was very well run, and despite not being as busy as some events I've been to, it was still a successful day sales wise.

Hi Iain, make sure your car is safe when it's full of Lego the night before the event 😉 I would unload it into the hotel if it were me
I'm sure it will be fine. I don't over think or worry too much about this kind of stuff - the car will still be worth more than the Lego inside anyway!

The thing is, people know how much Lego is worth nowadays, and will smash your windows for it, with you suffering the loss and also the insurance excess.

It was all very last minute for me as I only decided to go after hearing there were more tables available on Monday
you need a leaner process with the labels. change the size of the poster notes or the size of the labels, so that they match ?
I've looked for post-it's the size of the labels but can't find any - the label size I quite like as any bigger and they would cover the Lego boxes too much, especially the smaller ones
One thing worth bearing in mind for Saturday is that there's also a Brick Festival at Exeter on Saturday (which will be my first time selling at a Lego event!), so a lot of people in Devon and Cornwall who might have otherwise gone to Plymouth will go to Exeter instead, and visa versa. Shame they didn't coordinate things a little better to avoid the fixture clash, but I guess these things happen!
Yes, I am aware of the Exeter event on the same day. I think both events will be a little quieter than they potentially could have been. They are run by rival companies.
Hi Iain, are you going to Oxford Brick Festival? You have some sets I want to buy but I never seem to be at the shows you go to so I thought I'd seize the initiative and just ask 😂😂
Hi David. I'm afraid I won't be at Oxford on 15th June. My next Lego fairs after Plymouth tomorrow will be the Brighton Brick Show on 22nd and 23rd June, then I'm at the Northampton National Brick Event on Sunday 7th July

This is a good video. Very interesting! I wonder how long you take preparing. I guess 10 hours. Also it would be good to know what your cost are .
It's very difficult to gauge how long it takes to prepare for such a show as I do a few hours here and there each day in the run up to the events. Costs wise, in addition to the usual £140 ish for the traders table, there will be petrol, which will be about £40 for this trip plus £70 for the hotel. It all adds up, but it's still definitely all worth it as I do enjoy these events.

The new space BaMs are all Lego Store exclusive I've built them per Jays Brick Blogs pictures
I don't normally go for BAMs unless already pre built.
Why don't u stay overnight at a hotel to save tine on traveling and commute thrn stsy nearby my recommended though 😊
I am staying over on the Friday. The reason I normally don't dmstay in a hotel is to keep costs down.
