I managed to do my first event as a trader this weekend. Exeter put additional tables on. Thanks for giving me contact details for the brick festival. It was comfortably busy, too. I learnt a lot from it. I have the bug, and seeing as I have lots to sell, I'm hoping to get a table at more events in the future. It's very hard getting tables at present. Thanks for your videos and advice. Greatly appreciated 🏆
Hi Mick. Good to hear that your first event went well. Sounds like you have lots of great sets to sell on. Hopefully the application process for BF will become easier in the future.
Yes, it was a 100 times better than the Brick Fest Live event that I went to at Milton Keynes and that was then held in Birmingham NEC at the end of May.
Finally caught up on this one!! So overall opinion then, compared to Brick Festivals? Interested to know!! That said looks like this was well organised and spaced out well … might have to have a look into these ones!! 👍
Hi Lee. Both NBE and BF do a great job at organising these events, so it would be unfair to compare them against each other. The Plymouth NBE was very well run and despite a slightly lower footfall than some of the events I've been to recently, it was still good fun and my sales were still good. I would definitely recommend both organisations to anyone who has Lego to sell.
It’s really difficult to predict how many people will turn up for an event especially a new one for the area. I guess it’s down to how well advertised it is. The “early” bird certainly knew it was on but didn’t bring any money with him 😂
No, it wasn't particularly busy, but there were enough people to make the trip worthwhile. Never seen anyone intoxicated, but I'm sure staff would ask them to leave if they were.
@@iainsbricks I think closest to me is the Milton Keynes one. Around an hour away from where i live. But i think the next one in Milton Keynes is a while away
@@valenteproductions Have a look at the National Brick Events website and also the Brick Festival website as they both have a good variety of different shows at various locations coming up later in the year.
National Brick Events are so much better than Brick festivals from a customer experience, a lot more to do for the entry price. I also know someone that has displayed at both and he said he got treated so much better at National Brick
I was looked after really well by the NBE organisers. I was really impressed at the activities available and some of the models and displays were fantastic.
@@iainsbricks I am not either, but our lego group made some minifig habitats to display at a brickfair, you have the space minifigs, you could do that.
I noticed you changed the introduction, no “So, I’m outside the…” was this the fault of Tyrone/Snoop Loves Bricks doing the compilation at the start of his video interview with you making you aware how often you start your videos with it? I liked the Joker mosaic, I couldn’t do that because I haven’t got the patience. Also it would take me twice as long to build it because I would want the Lego logo on the studs to all point the same way. Looking forward to your video of the break down of how the day went.
Thanks Barry. Yes, Tyrone's video made me very aware not to say 'I'm Outside ' The Joker mosaic looked amazing. I'll hopefully do a round up video later in the week.
@@iainsbricks, I personally think that you should carry on saying “I’m outside” in your videos, at this point it has almost become a catchphrase of yours.
@@iainsbricks ops sorry my montage was done with love a sort of homage to you and the so im outside bit was to show everyone how much you travel for lego ..lets hope you dont watch the start of part two and three ;p lol hehe
Yes, despite the lower than usual takings for me, and the hotel costs, I've still made a profit at the event. Still need to work out the exact amount, but it's all definitely been worth it.
It was great having you at our event Iain! Looking forward to seeing you again in Northampton!
Thank you for looking after me so well. Looking forward to Northampton
Hope to see you soon 🎉
Great vid Iain! 😄
Thank you

@iainsbricks I have tried to make contact with NBE and Brighton brick show about potential spaces going forward .
Good luck with your future shows
My first time displaying at a NBE show and I really enjoyed the day. Great to meet you and thanks for showing my displays.
Thanks Nick. I loved the things you had on display
Looks better than the so-called "national brick festival" held at the Birmingham NEC a couple of weeks ago.

Great video and the NBE shows look well set out for a good day out
Thanks Carl. Yes, I really enjoyed my first NBE. Definitely worth a visit
Thanks for another great video 👍
Thanks Kathryn. Much appreciated
Nice. Good fun to see. And I don’t have to leave the house!
Thanks Christopher.

Yes, not all events are going to be mega busy like Souwas for me in April, bit it was still a reasonably successful day.
Love your videos, keep it up!
Thank You. Much appreciated
Thanks Ian . Fingers crossed you did well . Safe trip back .
Matt from Dorset
Thanks Matt. I've had better Festivals sales wise, but it was still definitely worth going
Awesome was it busy
Plus snyone at these events intoxicated

Brilliant video mate! Would love to go to one of these Brick Festivals! Most are quite far from me D:
Thanks for watching. Which area do you live?

You too Rob
Wayne Rooney is the new manager of Plymouth.
Yes, although I didn't see him at at the Brick Event 🤣
you should build something and display it at one of the shows, it does not have to be big.
I have thought about that, but I tend not to be much of a moc builder

If u turn yiir back then absolutely
Touch wood, but I've not had anything taken yet, but I know it can happen.

Where are those pesky Storm Troopers
They be around on video later or tommorow 😂
They were there. Really great that they have them walking round all day, taking photographs with everyone.
Tickets, accommodation, tables etc all about money... just wondering about profit from this kind of event.
