Roast at 350, 50 mins for anyone wondering. This pie was very good, I used his crust recipe too and I liked it but would half the salt next time. Delicious pie! 😊
Thank you. It was my first time baking anything from scratch. I watched your video, followed your recipe and thank to you my pumpkin pie turned out amazing. Just wanted to share and say thank you.
this is the first video that pops up when searching "pumpkin pie from scratch" that ACTUALLY uses whole pumpkins to make the puree. thank you. everyone else uses canned puree and calls it "from scratch" smh, might as well buy a precooked pie crust and call it from scratch too.
Love homemade pumpkin pie. We grow ours as well. This fall we picked up a few white Boer pumpkins that someone got for Halloween and tossed to the curb. We picked them up. OMG the pumpkin pulp is so orange and delicious. Making my pies with the boer pumpkins this year. One pumpkin made 14 cups of puree. I like to make pumpkin waffles, pumpkin cookies and pumpkin muffins as well. Thanks for the recipe. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
Great explanation and good videofootage! Also very well explained. As well the tips on using the seeds is great, I rarely see anyone using the punpkin so throughly like you did in your video!
Thanks so much! Yeah, I’m surprised how the seeds so often get overlooked. They must be labor intensive compared to other seeds to produce; but they certainly are easy to take out, rinse, and roast if your already opening up the pumpkin. 🎃
In Mexico the majority of people grow pumpkins specifically for the seeds and leave the rest for livestock or boiled pumpkin slices sprinkled with sugar. Seeds are pulled out, then set out to dry, then they’re ready to sell or consumed by roasting them, flavoring them with salt and lime juice makes for a delicious snack. You can also grind the roasted seeds to a fine greenish powder and it can be used as a spice for dish called Pipián.
Love your video and pumpkin pie recipe, looks very delicious, and mouth watering😋 Thanks for sharing your recipe, new friend joining, Sending full support, hope to see you back, stay connected👍
I've made pies from decoration Halloween varieties and except for them holding more water than sugar varieties, they make great pies. Drain the pumpkin in a colander after first bake or simmer in a saucepan to reduce the water before assembling the pie.
Cook your pumpkin inside facing up in the oven 425 for 1 hour to 1:30minutes depending on the size of the pumkin checking on it evey 15 minutes after the first 45 minutes of baking then there won't be any water and you can scoop it out with a spoon.
Dang, I tried it with whipped cream before but not ice cream. I might have to try that out next time. U might also have to show us how to make a sweet potato souffle one day.😕🙂🤓😎🤠😏👍✌️👋👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸
I am so overwhelmed. I was starting to follow a "Trader Joe's" recipe. I have never made a pie in my 49 years on this planet. I am a retired Veteran and Paramedic who wanted to surprise their 9 year old with a, made from scratch, pumpkin pie. We did nothing for Thanksgiving so I want to make him happy. Some recipes call for nutmeg some don't. Some say cook the pumpkins up and cover with foil, etc. These variances are torture for my PTSD. I live in San Fernando (Los Angeles). Can you please come help me???
Wow! Looks great! I was looking for a recipe to use the pie pumpkins we grew this year and this is perfect!

At what temp is your oven? To roast them.
I've made pies from decoration Halloween varieties and except for them holding more water than sugar varieties, they make great pies. Drain the pumpkin in a colander after first bake or simmer in a saucepan to reduce the water before assembling the pie.
Thank you so much for this recipe! I tested it out and it came out great!
This is great, thank you!
I didn’t know they were called sugar pie! That’s so cute
Nice job
I'd take whipped cream with either sweet potato or pumpkin pie.😕🙂🤓😎🤠😏👍✌️👋👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸
I made a couple without the crust, they're pretty good that way too.😕🙂🤓😎🤠😏👍✌️👋👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸

Can you use coffee filters if you don't have cheese cloth😊
Thank you
Can I just use the spices that I already have in my house?
Marshmallows might also be pretty good with sweet potato and or pumpkin pies.😕🙂🤓😎🤠😏👍✌️👋👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸
Thanks I’m going to try this

Cold or room temperature eggs?
I'm seeing different temps posted in the comments - 350, 375, 425 - but none from this channel. What is the temperature used in this video?!?
Hi is there anything I can use instead of cloves plz
You can just buy pumpkin pie spice.,or omit the cloves and add some extra nutmeg and ginger, depending on your taste. That’s what I’m going to do.
"Roast for 40 to 45 minutes" ... WHAT TEMPERATURE?
375
Or 180-200°C
I was wondering the oven temp cause yeah no oven temp
I’m gonna assume 350
Nicely done sir
🔥

Mine didn’t come out very orangey either but I kept rolling and once I finished it looked like a typical pumpkin pie. 👍
