    I just love watching you work. I'm just starting out, but it's comforting to see how calmly and professionally you present these more advanced patterns for us newbies. PLUS, you're another Central Texas girl (I'm in San Marcos!). Have a great week!

    This made an absolutely stunning design element in a shawl as I finished it. I finally am to the last part of designing with another element but the granite relief part is really pretty.

    I had to chuckle when I got the e-mail announcing this video. About three hours earlier, I had started a new washcloth using this stitch. Kismet. Thanks so much for all your videos.

    I love this stitch. This would make a really pretty summer top. Thank you for sharing

    That is much easier than it looked from the pattern. I think I will try a dishcloth in it. I have been crocheting them but find it harder on my hands than knitting. Thanks for the great instructions Staci.

    Can't wait to try this stitch. I think I will make a baby blanket. I also did not know LB had nicer yarns. I will go to their sight and check it out.

    I love all these fancy stitches! Could you design a scarf using all these stitches as a scarf sampler??

    Going to make this with the hemp and cotton yarn I just bought. The hemp is stiffer and will probably make a great dishcloth! Thankyou

      Hemp and cotton is also great for summer top because hemp is ALOT tougher and cool than cotton and linen.

    I just love your videos! You were my inspiration to start knitting about four months ago. So I’m a beginner 👶.
    I’m making an Afghan and was wondering if this stitch would work inside a garter stitch border and can I do color blocks inside the border? I have a vision, I just don’t know what the technique is!!

    I love love love this channel. I am a left handed knitter and would love if there could be a feature for left handers. I learned from my right handed grandma so i knit backwards

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tin M - thank you! There is very little difference between left-handed and right-handed knitting. The only difference is the hand you hold the working yarn. All of the stitches are worked exactly the same, and patterns are worked exactly the same. This video should explain more: th-cam.com/video/xfjeAl5FWx8/w-d-xo.html
      That is, unless you are a mirror knitter. Meaning you knit from stitches on the right needle on to an empty left needle. If that is the case, I'm afraid I can't help you much - you should probably schedule a private lesson at your local yarn shop with the knitting teacher there. Knitting on to an empty needle in your left hand really changes how you have to approach most patterns, and with one-on-one help, you can learn how to do that. Good luck!

    That is beautiful. How much more yarn does the Granite Relief stitch take up as compared to a regular stockinette stitch?

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amy Drake - sorry, I haven't compared this stitch, yard-for-yard, with stockinette to give you a solid answer. It doesn't seem to use up more yarn than any other stitch.

    I had no idea that LB had a nicer line. Going to look on their site now. That's great! Always looking for better quality yarns at better prices. I do have a question for you though, please. Regarding the cotton/bamboo yarn, I'm under the impression from doing reading, that both of these materials do not have a lot of memory. How can that combo be used on a baby garment? I thought they'd need to be mixed with a memory fiber. Can you explain as I am newer to knitting? Many thanks again! Love your professional videos.

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GettingNailed - I've never heard the term "memory fiber", and I've knit tons of baby items out of all kinds of yarn. The LB Collection cotton bamboo yarn holds its shape well, even with machine washing and drying. I would confidently use it in baby items.

    good job, but its border made me wonder what is the case if I wanted to knit a sweater ? which stitch would be best used for sewing it? or do I need to knit the sweater in a round?

    • @jenniferannfox2316
      @jenniferannfox2316 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I designed a shawl with elements of this stitch in it. Still finishing the last part at this time. I know this video was a while ago but I saw your comment. I would border with a few rows of garter stitch and mattress stitch the pieces together. I'm sure you can do this in the round as well.
