I showed my husband this episode (who is not musical)as evidence of why I need to have so many different guitars ! 😁😊 different pickups, yes, but also different body types, wood types, maple cap, no maple cap, 250k pot 500k pot endless variables that keep my GAS for guitars going! You can’t just have one single coil and one p90 and one humbucker guitar, you have to have at least 20!!
I get feeling so good about the state of my home tone sounds, then come to your channel and weep at the beauty that is That Pedal Show. I might say that no other channel comes close to nailing every tone as you do here. Love it. TY.
P90's are not all created equal, so try a few out to see which ones you like. I have a P90 in my Les Paul Jr, which is a dog ear with AlNiCo slugs, while my PRS has soapbar P90's which sound completely different. Cheers
Ok watch the Marshall amp on 10 video, she turns her guitar down to 1 totally defeating the purpose of the video. Not all but most women SUCK they are drains of fun. She has the personality of a blank white wall, just NOTHING about her is interesting. Calling all white knight calling all white knights we need delusional morons.
Has a lot to do with the ‘compression’ and ‘dynamic range’ things we’re talking about I reckon. Mick here. I’m with you. You only get that snap from a single coil. :0)
I've been a humbucker guy forever and recently built my first P90 guitar. It's a hot P90 at 15.2k but so much more articulate than a similar powered humbucker. I need more P90s now.
Late to reply, but this video is why I started looking for a DC jr. I couldn't afford a Gibson, so I wound up with a Harley Benton. Exactly the sound I was looking for.
Just bought my first guitar with p90s and it's honestly a revolution for me. I love the clarity I get from them. Every note comes out of the chord and the drive just blossoms out of them in such an organic feeling way. They've inspired me hugely and I've had to basically adjust everything about how I play to get the most out of them. I can feel myself improving. Great video guys thanks
This brought back memories of my es-125, that I had in high school about a hundred years ago. I didn't appreciate it nearly enough. All I wanted then was a LP.
I found this show fascinating. Thank you. I think Dan nailed the difference between Mick's Les Paul Standard 1959 (Humbucker) Reissue and Simon's Les Paul 1960 Special (P90) Reissue when he says at 34:19, "There's a body behind that edge with that guitar that you don't get with this [1960 L.P. Special Reissue P90]". And, to me, that is a wonderful way to describe the difference, generally, between Humbuckers and P90s. I would go one further (and I am coming out of the closet here), and say that pickups and pots and where and how one plays are the main influences in accounting for differences in the sound of different guitars - more than tone woods, centre blocks, bridges, and construction of the guitar in other ways. (I feel ex-communication coming soon).
I know your comment is from four years ago but I wholeheartedly agree that it really comes down to a player's dynamics and just the overall way the essential electrical components play off each other. A few of my friends who play seemingly were unaware that the volume and tone controls are also extremely valuable in getting certain tones as well as significantly more control over ones playing.
I had always been a Strat and Tele Guy pretty exclusively....and then I got my ‘06 Gibson SG Classic with two p90’s. Total game changer. Now there is plenty of room in my life for all three.
That Pedal Show I’m still waiting for my epiphany moment with humbuckers. I’ve played for 27 years and though I love hearing some of my favorite players use humbuckers equipped guitars, but they never sound right in my hands.
My favorite all time pickup. I had been shying away a bit from them typically because of the hum generated. Any gig venue with so-so power and it can really hum at times to an annoying level. This morning, however, I was going for an Andy Summers type tone for a recording I was doing. Normally you would think tele all day. Grabbed my Les Paul Junior with a Duncan Antiquity in it and "BOOM" nailed it. Super versatile. Well done my friends.
Evan Miller there’s a company that puts a hb in the bridge position and a P90 in the neck. Interesting. But it is a RocknRoll Relic and not sure you are a fan. You can get them non relic’d. The quality is top notch. I love them.
YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! MY FAVOURITE PUPS!!!!!!!!! :D Week = Made!!! Thanks, gents! Amazing as always!!! I HAVE an ES125 with TWO P90's, plus a 335 with P90's and a Bigsby and a P90-loaded Tele!
It's 2022 ... You guys are just SO 2018 ... But the playing and sounds here here is just REALLY FINE!!! I especially love the Jazz playing on the 1954 Gibson 125. I used to tune into a few of your videos - and this reminds me of how good you guys are - and how well you know your gear ...
Watching this with my '61 reissue SG Junior in my sweaty paws, just got a '61 reissue SG Special with P90's (obviously) lots of P90 love in my house these days.
Great show guys. Whilst I love the twang of my telecaster the sound I always anchored after was the raucous power of a P90 guitar. I have a couple of P-90 equipped guitars. Pride of place among them is my Custom Shop VOS re-issue 57 LP Junior. Without doubt a true rock and roll guitar. In terms of sound P-90’s definitely give you the best of both worlds. The added fatness over a single coil with the added richness & clarity that a humbucker lacks.
I’ve been umming and ahhing about what pickups to base my next guitar build around. Been looking at different single coils and humbuckers, and for some reason P90’s never came to mind. Consider my mind blown and also made up! Thx guys
I'm here for the TV yellow special. That thing sounded great no matter what pedal it was going through. I'm so excited that Gibson announced they are bringing it back as a core model!
By far, P90s are my fave pickups ever. I'm stunned by how few guitars are produced with them these days. Why is that? Do they just seem old-fashioned to people?
I'd like to make good use out of a moment of synchronicity, as I am currently eyeing a guitar with P90s to thank you for your hard work on that Pedal Show. I've been watching religiously every Friday morning since the start. Great to know you guys are at the service of some of my musical heroes, you aren't that far behind them for me either. The amount of musical knowledge and laughs I've gotten out of your videos is vast and priceless. Kind regards and keep reaping the rewards and opportunities of your efforts!
I saw the title of this and was dreading it, but it turned out to be maybe one your best episodes. Really insightful. Particularly liked the back to back playing on the riffs for comparison, and then just doing the same thing swapping guitars is really helpful too. And that old Gibson with Dan playing the jazz thing just sounded fantastic. Really enjoyed it!
Yeah, the sound of that Casino can be heard all over The Beatles "Revolver" album. Amazing tone. I have a set of P-90 'Buckers in my souped-up Epiphone SG and they certainly have that full compressed attack you guys talked about, but there's no hum (unless I coil-split them). When I got the guitar, I played a little of Gilmour's "5AM" through my Bassbreaker and it sounded pretty authentic to my ears. Less honk but plenty of fat "bite and bark" Great video, as always.
I’m starting to wonder if people from the south of England are the only people who don’t give a shit about where they come from. Maybe ironically enough because it’s among the most privileged places on Earth and we’ve never had an ounce of hardship. And therefor no pride either. Literally couldn’t give a toss about where I come from. Mick here. Dunno.
That Pedal Show All joking aside Mick, you don't have to go too far back in history in order to find plenty of hardship and suffering in the South of England. However, I admire your non-ideological/non-partisan subjectivity. Kudos.
Great video guys. Currently on a P90 journey to swap out the Mini Humbuckers in my 1975 Les Paul Deluxe for some P90's and came a cross this. Kudos to Dan's Jazz Chops 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Crikey. It's amazing how dull the PRS P-90s sound vs the upgrade you installed later. Your upgrade was a hugely good decision. I think my LP Special's P-90s have the perfect match of hotness and dynamic range. It pushes the front end of the amp quite a bit, but then when you lay back and really approach the guitar with delicacy, you get an incredible range of expression. P-90s are my favourite pickup. God help me if I succumb to that teasing wench of a Murphy Labs '56 Gold Top at a shop here in Tokyo. The wife will lose it. 😂
I feel the same way about PRS Soapbar s, whether Core series or SE. They don’t honk like classic P-90’s, or have that fat, round note envelope like an overwound Epiphone Casino. The definition of Meh…
Great episode, guys! Informative. Just watched a fairly decent Johnny Thunders documentary last night - they talked a little bit about his P90 equipped LP Junior. A rock machine.
For what it’s worth, my fave pickup use to be the P-90 hands down. I have long been off Gibson humbuckers (still like most Gretsch Filtertrons, though) except for the brightest of the lot, such as some (not all) original PAFs which I am fortunate have in an excellent 2001 LP reissue. Still, the P-90 ruled my world for many years. Then came a new kid on the block, actually an old kid, the DeArmond Dynasonic. I always liked the Dynas but rarely came across them. Then I became s intrigued by the Gretsch Harrison Duo-Jet and I bought one. It has Dynas in it. Well, Katie bar the door, that’s the Gov’ner now. What tone in all three positions. Such character and presence. Just heaven. Give ‘em a try guys and you will be properly impressed, I assure you.
The P-90 sound is just awesome and so versatile. I have a Casino for my Beatles, early Stones and Gary Clark Jr blues.....and a Les Paul Special for that fantastic P-90 solid body sound. Love the P-90's
ALNICO V STAPLE P90.The Cadillac of P90 pickups. Think 1954 Gibson L5 CES, 1954 Super 400 CES. Seymour Duncan Custom Shop makes a Great Set. I have them installed in my highly modified Epiphone Broadway Jazzbox. It's set up as a Rockabilly, Roots Rock Guitar.
30:44 He starts playing and it's clearly the neck pickup while the bridge pickup is selected. The next shot he has the neck selected. *I feel special for noticing this.
There is a lot to be said for P90's; especially in SG's. Once had a Pete Townsend SG and good God it screamed. Clean sound was exquisite too. Good job guys! :)
I'm gonna rip into my Lennon inspired epiphone casino even harder at tomorrow's gig now! Sweet sounding American p90s in that thing and you've got me pumped for it!
For the first time EVER I'm not aligned with Mick (gulp!). I really, really like the Sonic Research Strobe tuner. Wayyy better than the Polytune or TU-x, IMO. However I have let people use my 'board to tune their guitars and they get totally confused by it, even really young guys. I find the Sonic Research to be more consistent too, especially as a chromatic with alternate tunings, in particular Eb where my old Poly used to drive me nuts! It has to be a left/right brain thing, but that doesn't really explain why I hate anything with millions of buttons. Give me a knob to twist any day of the week! Great video guys, and the ES-335 is beautiful.
Hey Dan and Mick!! Brilliant show and thank you... I've a plug of some of my favorite pickups. Lindy Fralin makes Strat/Tele pickups called Steel Pole. They're like a regular Strat/Tele pickup had a baby with a P90. They come in two flavors. A 50% blend of the two, or 75% percent leaning towards the p90 tone profile. If you haven't heard them, I highly recommend them. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
After watching this show for over +5 years, only today did I just realize that there's actually a guy (in this case, Simon) behind the camera the whole time on a lot of these. I know that they've referenced someone, but I always figured that it was for whoever was working post (to clarify - production, not the mail) not who was ACTUALLY HOLDING THE DAMN CAMERA. Thanks for all you do, Simon. And thanks to D&M for this helpful episode. I'm in the market for a new guitar (thinking 2021 SG??) and weighing my options between a P90 vs. Humbuggie model. Always like consulting my two favorite gear gurus before making a decision!
Indeed! Simon is there for most of the stuff we do and we’re lucky to have him! We’ve been flying solo a bit more just recently, with Katherine behind the cam and me (Mick here) doing all the post because of availability and, to be frank, trying to watch costs. But hey, it gets out there one way or the other!
Hey Mick! Thanks for the reply. While I’d honestly watch you guys shwang about even if it was recorded on an old Nokia, the high production quality is never lost on me! I just always like to recognize the heroes behind the scenes! Again, many thanks for all you and the crew do - and especially for continually fueling my GAS and pilgrimage of TONE! Cheers from drizzly ol’ (not-at-all in the middle of a heatwave-induced smoky hellscape) Seattle, WA!
@@goswo Awesome! What did you pick up? I’ve been looking for a while now, but keep getting caught in the P90 vs. Humb vs. gold foil cycle. I play mainly single-coils at the moment (s-type through tweed Deluxe clone), but would like something with a little more bottom end and compression for overdriven slide stuff. I was also just introduced to gold foil pickups, so I’ve even further from an answer haha
I had an SG like that, although the neck PU was a Sidewinder version of the P90. It was actually horrible! there was such a disparity in output and tone between the PUs that I virtually had to set up the amp EQ for one or the other - whenever one sounded good, the other sounded horrible. There was no nice variation in tone just from switching pickup. Both could be reasonable in isolation, but not together. I ended up swapping both out for some Bare Knuckle P90s.
I have a Yamaha 611 HFM, loaded with a Seymour Duncan SP90 in the neck, and a Seymour Duncan Custom 5 humbucker, tapped, in the bridge. It is a great guitar! Quite a tonal range. I also have a Fender Telecaster Scorpion that I loaded with a single Seymour Duncan bridge P-Rail. That is a really cool setup, too. I got the optional switch plate from Seymour Duncan as well, that will allow for humbucker series, humbucker parallel, P90 alone and rail single coil alone. I am wondering about a super strat setup with P-rails top and bottom, and a stacked humbucker center?
Bearly Legal while similar, coil tapping and coil splitting are not identical. Coil splitting, as you know, removes one of the windings on a humbucker from the circuit. Coil tapping, on the other hand, means running an extra lead (or leads) from various points on the winding of any pickup. This will reduce the pickup impedance, depending on where the tap is placed, thereby reducing the output of the pickup and changing it's magnetic, electrical and tonal characteristics. I believe we can consider splitting to be a form of tapping.
wth fellas, that opening 30 second sequence was awesome. Been playing a while and just captured something new to work into. Both of you guys are good !!! now to watch the rest of this.
Last year I purchased a Fender 2017 Malaysian Blackwood Limited Tele..this year a Reverend Double Agent W with a Railhammer, and a P90 at the neck. And, let us not forget Graham Coxon with his Gray Guitar's "Grayling" Coxon model with P90s. :)
Yeah. We’d need to do some learning first. Neither Dan nor I have spent much time with them so it’s not natural to us.... would be a cool learning process!
That Pedal Show Well, when you think you need to learn first I bet you already know more than most of us😉 Please do your research on Jazzmasters and make a show about it. I am really looking forward to learn something about it as I am a passionate Jazzmaster Player since a few years and I am sure you could teach me something still.
Ah, cheers mate, sounds were happening this week, and when it’s happening I bring forth the rock, but if it’s not I play like a poo with fingers, fingers of poo. But when it is happening it’s my favourite thing in the world, which is why I’ve spent much of my life chasing good tone :)
That red coily lead Mick is using probably has significantly higher capacitance than Dan's cable. Might be an idea to use two identical cables for such comparisons.
Astonishing! I know these guys can play but they throw so many rock/ blues licks around that I tend to tune out from the playing and listen to the effects, tones etc, which I guess is the idea! But wow the jazz playing made me rewind and listen again!
MrKeefelm exactly, I don't normally focus on the playing too much because of what you said, and that means Mick and Dan are doing it well, allowing us to listen to the pedals. Mick stating at the ent that now he wants to play confirms they are holding back for the video, taking one for the team!
You're channel is so informative. Thank you. I've just bought my first P90 guitar after years of owning and play Fender Tele and Strat and and I love it.
The main thing you didn't touch here, imo, is fuzz! A p90 KILLS humbuckers when you go through something like a sun face. There is also the Gibson p100 pickup which looks just like a p90 on the outside but is actually a stacked humbucker. It doesn't sound like a p90. It's too anemic for bridge, but I personally think they are just perfect for neck position if you enjoy playing with a cleaner, blues or funk tone. Kind of bell or piano like response. Gibson stopped making these because the internet really hated them (for not being p90s). Most underrated pick up ever.
I had a 60's tribute SG with P90's that I recently sold and bought a Strat. The one thing I really loved about that guitar that is when I bent the strings it almost sounded like a wah as the string moved across the magnets of the pups.
God bless Simon, that is gorgeous. I wish you had a chance to address pickups made to sound like p90s in different forms (like humbuckers) and offsets like the Jazzmaster. I guess it would be "That Pickup Show." Spin off? Nicely done gents.
I definitely see P-90s as the bridge between single coils and Humbuckers. P-90s are not SC or HB but they share the best characteristics of each in my opinion. Fairly noisy though
What fun! Great show, loads of cool sounds, and a showcase of a bunch of cool guitars. Love it. Great job guys. Love the new T shirts, I'll have to order my 3rd!
for a metal band i’m in, I’ve played EMGs, humbuckers. Then went for single coils. Now will try the next tour with a P90 equipped guitar. It’s going to get noisy as hell in various dive bars and outdoor venues, but the tone,.....it is just to die for. That top end and honkiness just sounds amazing!
I showed my husband this episode (who is not musical)as evidence of why I need to have so many different guitars ! 😁😊 different pickups, yes, but also different body types, wood types, maple cap, no maple cap, 250k pot 500k pot endless variables that keep my GAS for guitars going! Ah, that’s fantastic Catherine, hope he was convinced, thanks so much for watching :)
But there's no such thing as tonewood.
You wouldn’t expect a mechanic to work with just one or two wrenches!
@@topdog91 but there's such thing as physics, go study it.
@@valebliz And?
Holy smokes i did not expect dan's ripping jazz comping there at all! What a player :D
Well the one thing I can say is DAN YOU NEED TO PLAY THAT SG JUNIOR MORE! It's bloody fantastic.
p90, the sound of Live At Leeds. What an album!
I get feeling so good about the state of my home tone sounds, then come to your channel and weep at the beauty that is That Pedal Show. I might say that no other channel comes close to nailing every tone as you do here. Love it. TY.
Ah, thanks so much, we work hard at it
Truer words...
I've had the same experience (repeatedly). Solidarity.
Well now I need P90s in my life...
Mary Spender yes you do Mary.
Nobody cares what you think, you are awful. Looking for attention? Notice you aren't on Andertons anymore thank GOD.
But you on the other hand, Tom Law, have enriched all of our lives with your intelligent, poised and well thought out comment. Thank you!
P90's are not all created equal, so try a few out to see which ones you like. I have a P90 in my Les Paul Jr, which is a dog ear with AlNiCo slugs, while my PRS has soapbar P90's which sound completely different. Cheers

I would love to see you guys get someone like Gilad Hekselman on the show, he’s a big pedal guy and an incredible jazz player
Perfect timing, seeing I just bought a P-90 loaded Gibson Les Paul Classic Goldtop yesterday! You can add prescience to your many talents!
The big thing for me about P-90’s is bottom string clarity. Compared to humbuckers the lower notes just separate much better!
Has a lot to do with the ‘compression’ and ‘dynamic range’ things we’re talking about I reckon. Mick here. I’m with you. You only get that snap from a single coil. :0)

Wow.. Dans little schwang is proof we need more Jazz guitar on the show!! Love Love Love. Jazz guitar lesson please Dan?
I can't get over how great these P-90's sound, it just blows me away.
YAY! Not only is it you guys, but you're talking about the only pick-up I use in my guitars. Big love x

I've been absolutely drooling over the Ventris now for a few days. In retrospect of this episode, it took this demo up to another level.
Dan's SG Jr sounds gorgeous. Probably my favorite guitar of the day.
There should be a Seth Lover day ,46', p90, 57' ,humbucker ,69', wide range humbucker, old Seth was a monster. Nice stuff guys

Oh the sweet bends in the intro Dan.... had to listen twice just to hear those resolves again !
Holy shit! That intro tune. I'm on 0:13 of the video and I know this is going to be so good. :)
akshay kumar ooo
Great episode, guys! Informative. Just watched a fairly decent Johnny Thunders documentary last night - they talked a little bit about his P90 equipped LP Junior. A rock machine.
I haven't even watched the video, but if y'all talk shit about p90's I'm a be pissed. Greatest pickup ever invented. come on fight me I'm drunk
Yeah baby! Another round for the man in the P90 blouse!
oh hell yeah bb
Mike Adams Owner of two Casino’s (standard one and a Inspired by John Lennon) here and just about to purchase LP Special now. P90’s rule!
That jazz fingerpicking was glorious!
Played a Friedman Cali with 2 soapbars and my word was it insane. Proper got me into p90s. But after hearing that 330 Collings... I'm sold!
THINCOVER Friedman knows what they’re doing amp wise and guitars.
P90s are the "sleeper" of pickups. They do everything, always sound good. Semi and p90,nailed!
Great video Dan & Mike, I would love you hear you jam out at the end, make it happen please!
Awsome! now do a show on tweed amps!
It’s coming.... we’re about to move premises. And then Tweed!
black face, silver face, brown face; wish we had That Amp Show as an occasional indulgence ....
And don't forget that cable show ;)
I love Dan's expression as Mick hits that magical note....
I need to hear more of that I30! Please do a video of just that guitar ripping!!!
I'm gonna rip into my Lennon inspired epiphone casino even harder at tomorrow's gig now! Sweet sounding American p90s in that thing and you've got me pumped for it!
It’s a bit of a coincidence that I’m going to be swapping out my EMG’s for P90 sized humbuckers soon. Can’t wait to find out what it will sound like.
That first opening lick is killer! That whole first major key Dickin around was just great!
Love this episode! That thick P90 sound on that McCarty. Man!🤨
For the first time EVER I'm not aligned with Mick (gulp!).
Love love love love love you guys, TPS rules..beautiful guitars and sounds today mates, never not learning
Cheers!
18:21 and... all of a sudden... Dan plays the intro to one of my favourite XTC songs!!! ;)
"All Of A Sudden It's Too Late!" Missed that the first time.
They’re my fave band. I play in a band called Tin Spirits with Dave Gregory :))
Oh yes, I know that very well, Daniel... I'm a huge fan!! Although I AM on a diet, so I'm a slightly less huge fan than a few weeks back :-P
I just got my first P90 guitar, ohh Lord, I really really like it. Love single coils and Humb too, but P90 is just sweet :-)
@@leftheavy. I had a Gold Top build to me 😀 with Fralin P90. The trick with P90 is to disl the volume back just a bit - then they sound so good
P90 neck humbucker bridge with coil tap, best of both worlds :)
Matthew Couldn't agree more, friend! :)
G&L Fallout, try that one
Mick...dare I say that with a cold, you sound a little like Benedict Cumberbatch?
Why thank you dear boy!
Haha. I read that in his/your voice 😂
According to Count Arthur Strong..it's Bendydick Cucumber
not many will get the reference - made me laugh.........again
Really!!! I got more of an Alan Rickman vibe!!
Awesome; How about a special about Jazzmasters and Jaguars, a lot people mistaken Jazzmasterpickups for P90's
Yeah you do need to do that. jason Lollar has agreat post about jazzmasters on his site.
Dan!! That jazz comping on the Gibson at the beginning sounded awesome! That guitar and the black Collings (and your red Tele)...wow!
That acoustic-like stuff around 42 min reminded me of live Who stuff where Pete used to do lots of parts like that. Great show, as always.
Wow Dan can play jazz!
Benj Coltrane Jazzy D in the house!
*That walking bassline with chords though*
Astonishing! I know these guys can play but they throw so many rock/ blues licks around that I tend to tune out from the playing and listen to the effects, tones etc, which I guess is the idea! But wow the jazz playing made me rewind and listen again!
MrKeefelm exactly, I don't normally focus on the playing too much because of what you said, and that means Mick and Dan are doing it well, allowing us to listen to the pedals. Mick stating at the ent that now he wants to play confirms they are holding back for the video, taking one for the team!
If memory serves (was mentioned in one of the guys' videos), Dan is a jazz trained guitarist.
That was fun guys! The Gibson Special en SG definitely have a lot of mojo. The Huber smokes too.
About time you busted out the Nik Huber! Haven't seen that since the Pedal Shed was all white picket with branded stickers that fell off.
Oh how we remember the stickers!
You're channel is so informative. Thank you. I've just bought my first P90 guitar after years of owning and play Fender Tele and Strat and and I love it.
Great show as usual. P90s are my favorite pickups of all time. I can do anything with them.
Bloody great show!!! It allowed me to listen and take it all in and see if what I was hearing was the same as you guys. Fantastic!!
I have installed Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90s in my Les Paul custom. Absolutely magic!
Well this is certainly a drool-worthy episode... I’m looking at all those guitars and cursing my lack of disposable income 😭
I had a 60's tribute SG with P90's that I recently sold and bought a Strat. The one thing I really loved about that guitar that is when I bent the strings it almost sounded like a wah as the string moved across the magnets of the pups.
Well played, Simon. Awesome guitar!!
The boy has such good taste. 0)
Perhaps I'm missing something, but it seems that by design a P90 is a single coil.
Oh lord...I was already thinking about buying some Lollar P90s for my Les Paul...time to start saving some cash. Thanks guys!
Thoughts on aluminum guitar necks or solid aluminum guitars? Might make a cool show topic.
What fun! Great show, loads of cool sounds, and a showcase of a bunch of cool guitars. Love it. Great job guys. Love the new T shirts, I'll have to order my 3rd!
Thank you Isaac - the T shirts keep us going!
There's a depth in the P90's , like a different layer of sound that humbuckers don't have IMHO.
Simon's ES 125 is absolutely beautiful! I'd love to see him on the show sometime
P90LP+Plexi !!! :)) true love
for a metal band i’m in, I’ve played EMGs, humbuckers. Then went for single coils. Now will try the next tour with a P90 equipped guitar. It’s going to get noisy as hell in various dive bars and outdoor venues, but the tone,.....it is just to die for. That top end and honkiness just sounds amazing!
