Great list 👍🏻 Certainly refreshing. We play a bunch of Dutch Blitz in our house too. Dig how Colm’s list leans towards games he plays and loves. Good stuff!
Thanks Ryan! I don't play as much as I'd like to. So when it came to ranking it naturally went to those that get played with my family (most often who I'm playing with outside of Dan)
Entertaining as always, I loved the diversity of this list. I was pleased that traditional card play still influences your taste in games today. You were brought up with cards and by the sounds are passing those skills on to your children, game on!
We pass on what we know! Thanks to Dan and Fr. Greg, I'm learning more and different styles of games to expose my kids to as well! Love there are so many different ways to enjoy a night with friends and family and connect "IRL" as they say!
Loving all these lists! I need to play Rajas more. Only played it once and it didn’t impress me as much as I expected. I think I just need to play it more.
Great List Colm. And great work Dan. 7 Wonders is so solid even after so many years. Rajas is great too. And DICE TOWN…get out of here…crazy fun is right. And respect to Ticket to Ride. And no shame including Crokinole. And is Dogs of War that good? Might have to try it. Lots of love for that game in the party people crowd. And Skull King to finish it off…wow. Great list.
It’s a little all over the place but that tracks to who I am and playing with a bunch of kiddos a lot! There’s a lot of near top ten I thought would get there, but going by my “if it’s put in front of me would I want to play it”, I landed on a lot more classics to my upbringing and casual nature (cards, tiles, over conversation). Crib, Azul, Everdell (only played once though), Elysium, Quacks and Jamaica were all not far away that I foresee maybe getting in there over time perhaps.
Great list! Raja is so very good and only escaped my top 20 because you CAN get hosed where there is NOTHING you can do, especially in the max player count. But still a joy to play! If you like this kind of dice drafting and tile laying: check out Santa Maria. That game flew WAY under the radar but it's SO good. Colm...Daniel will buy it for you. Daniel: make it happen! :D
Always fun to see what others rank as their top games of all time. It's the diversity of styles and choices that make this a great hobby.
Solid list!
Thanks!
That’s what I love about the hobby too!!

That’s right! A lot of these games are really easy to get to the table. Which is a huge plus!!

I was surprised but very happy that Skull King made the top of his list :)!!

I can see it not landing for some people though. I love the worker placement and dice drafting elements. Kinda hate the tile laying… haha

We gotta get you over for a game of Dogs of War! You would like it! Not sure you would love it. But you’d have a fine time :)
