Actual Cost of Living Philippines! June 2024 Expenses!

  • Today we discuss the budget of a friend that also lives here in the Plantacion Meridienne subdivision of Lipa City, Batangas. These are actual numbers he shared for his costs in the month of June. It shows what is possible for certain expats. This is not the typical nor are we saying that everyone can come here and achieve these results. But it is definitely possible to live on a much smaller budget in the Philippines.

Good video, when you find a gem you have to keep it to yourself. If a lot of foreigners move to your area the price will go up significantly. Your friend is doing it the right way.

Stanley - you come across as an honest person & I sure don't believe you would have any reason to lie to us. All seems doable as you explained and Lipa is listed as a low cost of living area also. And a beautiful area as well. My extensive research reveals location to be essential for a lower budget - but many do exist over there ! - - - Good job with your friend and his privacy.

You can live very cheaply for sure if little entertainment, travel, medical, or vices for sure. For me that is is more of a surviving budget then a living budget, but to each their own. I find wine much more costly in the Philippines, and beer as well except when at restaurants. Liquor is roughly the same depending on what state you are in as taxes can vary so much. Rent is the key for sure. Good on him!

800 bucks is possible but not maintainable. I think $1500 would be a good number for peace of mind and to cover the unexpected. The dollar right now is unusually strong, so he is able to get by with 800. I grew up in the Philippines, and for as long as I can remember, the Peso likes to stay around the 47-53 range per dollar, and it can go back there quickly. If the USD hit 47 again, he'd be spending about $1000 to maintain that lifestyle assuming all prices stay the same.
