If you read the purchase agreement, it clearly stated "Weapons not included." I forgave the Ghost for the lack of guns because it is much cheaper than the other by a few hundred thousand. The difference in price easily pays for all the necessary upgrades it needs to get up to par. And almost everyone I know immediately found a way to upgrade it to the Murder Hornet anyway.
@EvenLease44 you have to 'unstealth' the manual. That and a free pdf is available on their online site... once you confirm your reputation and no (or hidden) affiliation to Drake...
To argue for the stock version: it's still great for recon missions if you play in a group. Let's say you plan on pir... secondary trading and want to keep an eye on a trading hotspot. You can hover somewhere close by without beeing seen (can even switch off shields). Once you see a vic... someone with too much cargo who needs help unloading, you call in the big guns. But yeah, realistically you need to change many components.
Reminder. Throwing anything but ballistics on this ship will raise the EM signature substantially. This ship was made to run ballistics. I'm running x1 cooler on mine to reduce IR as well. It's a stealth ship after all ;)
Been very happy with this pledge. I like that I can add both turrets which I strip from my F7C-M that I’m not using because of the HUD zoomed out bug. Been running 2 panthers with 2 pairs of XJ distortion but have been tinkering with all laser since distortion is getting a nerf. Full ballistic this ship really rocks but gets depleted fairly fast. I’ve recently done the murder Hornet upgrade and am having a blast (real double entendre). Am happy that the stealth mechanic is here. Had only experienced it when up against a Sabre Raven before.
I think they will be able to squeeze in the components to all of the ships, even if the positioning don’t always make sense. I’ll also say that fighters probably won’t need space for stuff like gravity and life support
I know the Ghost is popular now, and I do love it's smoother lines compared to the other Hornets, but I love my Heartseeker. The nose art over the Invictus blue and gold paint with three Panthers and a pair of badgers up top, it just looks sweet. I don't care if it's not the meta, it's my absolute favourite Hornet. Regarding the need to upgrade, isn't that true of most ships? My Freelancer MIS comes stock with Grade B Military components, but most ships come stock with Grade C and D components, usually Civilian and/or Industrial. That's actually why, for all the ships I have now, my MIS has been my go to ship after every wipe going all the way to the Kickstarter.
In regards to upgrades, most fighters can fight stock without needing a huge upgrade to the weapons system. From the arrow to the scorpius. The hornet series cannot go without upgrades tbh, except maybe the heartseeker and the super hornet.
True enough about weapons. I'm so used to Panthers and Badgers on most of my ships that I hardly think of it any more. After that, for me, the thing I usually look at upgrading even before that is the QT drive. The Heartseeker comes stock with four laser cannons (3x S3 and 1x S4), which is fine for PvE to start.
The thing I HATE about Anvil, and I mean ABSOLUTELY HATE, is that they never tell you upfront how your ship works. I walk into the dealership to buy this thing and it's like "Hey! Thank you for your purchase!!" and then I gotta be the one to climb into the damn nonexistent "cargo bay" which is REALLY where the QD is stored, and they manual's already half toasted and I can't even read the damn thing!! Anyways, thanks for the video. Really appreciated, Citizen.
I found out today the old mks are being removed. I had melted my ghost for the new mk Ii. But the moment I heard that I said hell no and melted the mk II amd bought back my ghost. I am curious and I hope you are too, on your suggestion for a load out on the current patch. To be honest I am quite horrible at it
Haha same I upgraded my ghost to the mk2 and figured I can buy the ghost for auec. But when I found out they are getting rid of the mk1 I was sad and got my baby back lol!!
Thanks! I’ve often heard people say it’s the stealthiest ship in the game. But with all the stealth ships having a 40% reduction and the ability to buy stealth components, why would this be so?
Stealth in SC is a lot less relevant than IRL or flight sims - the fact that you can't OTK the enemies forces you into brawls anyway, so I'd argue this really needs better shields.
@@CouchDoritos Yeah, and a single stealth fighter can down 6 enemies undetected with Fox-3 missiles from hundreds of kilometers IRL, simultaneously. It's a lot more relevant IRL. That said, I understand Star Citien is going for the ster wars aeronaval cool factor with knife fighting being the focus. It's just this and trying to remain "realistic" doesn't seem to mix that well.
tbh, its pretty easy. i just couldnt manage to get both turrets, only the nose turret. either way its luck to get both or cig did something. and then the capacitor is the next problem. with that many lasers yozu dont have much shots. so i think slapping both F7A turrets on is kinda pointless. however, the act of getting them is easy@@EvenLease44

The dealership didn't offer me any upgrades before purchase and gave me a terrible interest rate. The ships manual wasn't even in the glovebox.

It happened. Your "stock" rule officially means nothing. I told you this would happen. Love you, glad you joined us on the side of logical discussion
Hahahaha you got me.
@@EvenLease44 :) keep up the good work. o7

Talk about timing. I was actually just looking at what that the ghost can do. All the stuff that can be strapped onto an F7 is just wacky
Yeah the amount of weapons you can strap onto this ship is insane.
I use the ghost with 10 longsword canons on and it’s brilliant. Easily makes the money back on the upgrades.
how do you put 10 longswords on the ship ?
The tail on the Hornets are counterweights - they have zero aerodynamic properties whatsoever.
If you replace the ghost cap with a turret, does it lose some stealth attributes?
That’ll be subject to change in future though right?
Yes, it can/does lose SOME stealth but not enough to prevent that change. Still stealthier than any other hornet with the turret.
Thanks!
I’ve often heard people say it’s the stealthiest ship in the game. But with all the stealth ships having a 40% reduction and the ability to buy stealth components, why would this be so?
NO, but if you add lasers it will up the IR.
o7 ... great review with good information
Bro that intro music and ship view got me bricked up

I put laser guns only on my ghost and it awesome, unlimited laser attack and they cant detect yoi. Damn
Anyone know if stealth is still viable in 3.23? I was able to get this down to 2.5 EM and IR in 3.22
The hornet ghost is no where near that now but still stealthier than normal ships. The new firebird has better EM than the ghost.
@@EvenLease44 Thanks for letting me know the ghost was so cool in the past. I was able to board ships because of its low detection radius in the past.
you didnt even mention the "MEGA Hornet" upgrade possibility...
You are right I didn’t. It’s not something easily obtainable but it’s worth a mention nonetheless!

Whoever designed this ship doesn't know jack about stealth design
