I see a small change to the missile launcher. Has more black around it, connecting it to the main gun visually. Hope they add some more details to the top of the ship as well.
The ship was originally made in Germany, but then America got a hold of it and gave it the right upgrades that American always gives... a bigger gun!:)
I've did Intrepid video myself and after 2 days of testing and recording I must say this ship fire power was mistake from the start, and whenever S4 is good upgrade it's still outclassed, and for the Glory of Crusader it requires a least Nose turret with Dual S1 weapon to be seen as close as C1 / C2 / MSR
The Intrepid looks MUCH better with the size 4 gun. It is unfortunate that the gun points 5-6 degrees upward. At first, I thought it was an illusion created by the angular cockpit design; but NOPE; now, it is hard to un-see. (Perhaps CIG will fix this oversight, making the gun parallel to the centerline of the cockpit, before ship sale!)
The only change is the size 4 gun update. With the cargo size, and speed/combat potential, I am guessing $45 as a standalone, or $60 with a game package, same as the Cutter and C8X.
Good, I don't want another "premium starter" but still, Intrepid have more functionalities and it's faster than cutter, so I guess 50 standalone and 65 for game package, just like 100 i.
If you look at what the ship has to offer, the closest other ship in the game is the cutter rambler. The rambler has the same living facilities, half the cargo but twice the missiles (not a huge difference either way) and a little more DPS but it's also a little slower, so I'm expecting the same price, $50.

I thought they were planning to make some scan-proof cargo crates... if they do, just get a few size 1 or 2 SCU crates to keep in your cargo pods. That would make this and the 135c the best little smugglers lol.
I am very glad they increased the gun size, however, I think it does somewhat ruin the topdown silhouette of the ship. A shorter gun would look better. But that's all my opinion. If you can upgrade the gun to size 5 or other specifications, then that's good. I've never done anything in that arena besides browse the big guns in the showroom, with no idea what sizes they were and what could go where. Same for editing ship components on the whole, really.
I don't think shielded cargo is a feature in the game yet. The Mercury Star Runner, which has a dedicated shielded cargo area, doesn't block any scans even if you put cargo in that area.
I think S4 is right for this ship. People complain when a new ship is better in all area's compared to older ones and when the Intepid isnt people are outraged 🤷♀️ It would be a slam dunk for me if it had shielded cargo
Yeah seeing how it looks now makes it clear this ship was designed around a bigger gun. Still needs to be priced lower than the Avenger in my opinion, but is actually viable now
I recon the bay config will have something to do with hacking and data gameplay, something similar to the Herald. Swap the cargo for cpus, or simply add them to the bay and open for access.
With the Size 4 upgrade it looks much better! the problem is you have a Amazing interior and then the Exterior looks soooo, strange. the A symmetry is ok but just looks so flat and boring they could have added a bit more detail. but with the Size 4 gun now it looks more proper. and when it goes live putting a AD4B it will do much better. It may not be the best ship however it now can atleast have a chance to survive
Shame it hasn't got PDT's, 4 medical beds, a dining hall and torps bay, 250 SCU cargo hangar, and all for $30,.......Oh! also that funky new Radar and Scanning tech would be nice CIG. Fingers crossed, next rebalance before IAE......im hopeful, im a Noob who lives for Stats
It's important to remember, but Intrepid is a ship that doesn't need to be nerfed anymore. Size 1 components and single gun. The only thing left for it is speed and maneuverability, but again, with such little firepower it doesn't matter how fast it flies.
@@qutatron It kinda does, as in it should be fast to outrun any threat bigger than it. After all it's the only valid choice one has, to run in it. If it doesn't do that either than you got a flying coffin.

In contrast, the Intrepid has a standard gun slot, which provides more variety in weapon choices. If a weapon you prefer gets nerfed, everyone using that weapon will experience a reduction in effectiveness. With the recent buff or upgrade, the damage output of the Intrepid is now more comparable to that of other starter ships.
You ever tried switching the size 4 on the vanguard to a size 5. You get way less shots and it shoots way slower that it is not worth the change. That ship has a size 2 power plant.

It looks like they build ships without remembering that the weapons in game are trash when it comes to certain builds. 2 sz4 let alone 1 sz5 is teash compared to four size 2 or 3’s. Let alone crusader ships shouldnt have pilot weapons at all if they going to continue to make them prettier Drake ships. There is nothing on paper different compared to the A1 and the Cutty black. The C1 has virtually the same loadout as both with 4 slaves but is weaker than the cutty black. Both ships has the same component load out? I know they arent done building the game and all, but i have no clue how two different ships can have the same component capacity but have different dps with the same weapon loadout. It dont make no sense!!! Lol
This ship got kitchen and bed, it's a little flat, yes, the avenger will be a better dog fighter, this one is more an interceptor. Only one canon will allow more accurates shoots too.
@pierro9119 not that the intrepid is really a combat oriented ship. It is combat capable, but not purpose built for it. It's a multi-role starter. The avengers are absolutely combat ships, with the titan having the capability to load some cargo. However, they offer nothing in terms of long-term usage. The intrepid you can live out of.
Im sorry this still doesnt come close to star quality of ship Im confident Mr.Roberts will push his influence on this build and we will see another win from Crusader.

@@qutatron Crusader ships are armour tanks, just like the C1 vs the Zeus. Zeus has a lot more shield, but C1 has 3x the armour (hp).

This is CIG we are talking about here. It will cost more than you think, as always. Remember the ATLS? This ship will be in the 90-110 range

The Size 3 gun was probably there in the interest of cockpit visibility.

Every time I see the Aurora, I think that the side fins should be about to unfold and make an X like an X wing, but they don't. 😢.

The lines of the ship pretty much shout 'gunship', and having a single S3 Laser Cannon was underwhelming at best

1xS5 and 16SCU is what we really want. That would make this ship unique and interesting. As is it is not.

Try and allocate all your free power to your gun. You won't get more shots, but the capacitor will recharge faster.
I always alocate more power to guns and shield. I can't wait to create my own loadout for Interpid and test diffrent guns.

Its close but it honestly needs a single s5 if its gonna remain and single weapon ship.
