My CAPA was tuned from 240hp 500Nm to 330hp 650Nm with downpipe and tune and 6.0sec 0-60 time dropped to 4.9sec. So 450hp and 800Nm from new S4 with tune would eat the old RS4 for breakfast.
Congrats good choose ! I was thinking about to pick a pre OPF rs3 for a while, too. But after a long comparison I did choose the S5 Sportback (2018). The space inside is very good and the performance is still great. Love the car + sound - perfect daily driver here in Germany I guess :)
For a daily driver at an "affordable" price that can crush many cars that are $50,000-$100,000 more expensive, it's hard to beat the RS3. It's a beast.

You buy it for driving pleasure and pure connection to drivetrain that is taken away from you in an automatic. And that will always be the case. I've driven both and really for me the worst manual gearbox outthere is still far more enjoyable than an automatic.
Interesting comparison love the older RS4 looks and sounds great would be interesting to ha e it on a rolling road to see what it’s current BHP is as some of these had coke build up issues and power loss so could be at an unfair disadvantage

Interesting the power to weight of the RS4 is 33% better than the S4. But the turbos on the S4 and better gearing will give it more usable power. Couple that with the faster shifts too. Amazing if you think about it.
Unfortunately Audi seems to be following the trend of making cars worse. The 2022 RS3 no longer has a gear shifter stick. It's this little switch you use your thumb and forefinger to change. It's horrible. Plus, no more circular vents, which I personally liked. They were extremely utilitarian. There are some other shitty changes too. Disappointing.

You cannot drag race, you cannot do 70 and emergency stop on a public road, you can do a rolling race from 50 and it'll last about 1 second until they hit the speed limit of 70. Sooooo good way to throw away thousands of pounds for over engineered and overpriced cars to just go to Aldi and Costa and show off your leasing plan? Because in real life 99% of people couldn't even afford these cars if it wasn't that they are borrowing them from a bank or a car finance company.
For me the rolling race is what matters Well at least of the competitions here, i think a handling test would be awesome too - like Mat already did in some past videos where he just drove around the airfield
