Put fires down when mining. On copper nodes make sure to dig all the way down until its stop letting the ground to go deeper you have mined all the copper.
Don't kill all the spanners if you want to make materials farm.

What does putting down fires do when you're mining? Does it scare the trolls away? Or is just to help you see?

@@atlantic_love It scares all the regular Greydwarfs away. They fear fire. Even holding a Torch will make them run in circles and never attack you. The same is true of Boars and Greylings in the Meadows. So if you surround your mining operation with Campfires the only things you'll have to worry about the occasional Brute or Shaman - they're not bothered by fire and will still come and harass you, but at least you're keeping that pack of 15 regular Greydwarfs from throwing stones at you all night long.

      @@Darkkfated What about trolls?

    • @Darkkfated
      @Darkkfated ปีที่แล้ว

@@atlantic_love They don't care about fire, although they will take some damage from a Campfire if you can get them to walk over one.

Great tip! I put that in my Meadows video, definitely helps with this biome too!

Not only is Bronze armor a huge metal investment and only a few points of armor higher than the Troll Leather, it ALSO slows your movement speed by 5% for the Chest and 5 more for the Leggings. Hard pass, the stuff is just NOT worth it unless you're some sort of crazy compulsive hoarder/completionist.
Using as Axe on the Greydwarf spawners can take them out in a just a few swings. It's by far the best option early on when you're limited to only the flint knife, flint spear, flint axe, and basic club for weaponry. As others have said, leaving a couple of spawners around is a great way to farm stone, wood, resin, and greydwarf eyes if you find yourself running low on some of those in the midgame, but absolutely take out any that are too close to where you set up a camp/base or any copper veins you plan to mine.
Related to number six, knowing where the Biome's borders are can also be helpful - running out of the biome you're currently in and into another one is a another good way to get a foe you're fleeing from off your case. After a certain amount of distance, most foes will stop chasing you and wander back to their home biome, so you can lose Trolls and Greydwarfs by running far enough back into the meadows. In addition, this ALSO ties into #2, where whatever's chasing you might get distracted and go after the local Boar and Deer population instead of you.

Good point about the troll armor and Bronze but if you think about it are you going for long term or short term cause you could have a set of troll armor full set and have that for when you want to mine or explore it's very useful when trying to get minerals in the black forest and other places to not attract mobs and then use the bronze to your fighting advantage

Leave the spawner if you plan to farm it later though...

Troll is the final form of grey dwarf. They both use wood weapons, throw rocks and don't attach each other

The only tip I would give and yes I'm basically a beginner haven't even killed the elder yet but from my new experience if you get a full set of troll armor your so sneaky that basically no mobs will try to kill you it helps with basically anything except sometimes which is common some times a grey drwarf

Sneak levels don't increase how sneaky you are when not sneaking, they just reduce your stamina drain while sneaking around and frontal visibility threshold of enemies when sneaking (if an enemy isn't looking in your direction, 0 sneaking is good enough to get right behind them without alerting them, since any lvl of sneaking makes you silent).
If you're really scared shitless of the mobs aggroing you, and are fine with it taking about 5 times longer to explore an area, sure, sneaking will help you.

I’m playing on Xbox I haven’t seen a mob spawner once. Is it a seed thing or an Xbox thing?

They are there. You just have to look for them.

    • @quicksandriggs

Probably a seed thing, sometimes it’s just hard to find them.
