Before buying the top of the line Suzuki Vitara 1.6 GLX about a month ago here in Pakistan, I had all sorts of apprehensions about its plasticky interior and its underpowered engine...??? Now since i own this car, trust me, it is a true value for money considering the features and options it provides. Superb drive, excellent fuel economy and great safety.The engine is really peppy specially in "Sports mode"
+DAXX HEX there's no V6 option. Suzuki does not make a v6 engine that can the used in a front wheel drive setup, nor can this suv take such a big engine anyway... looks might be deceiving but this car is a bit smaller than a Ford Focus (to put it's size into perspective). There is a turbocharged engine on offer in the European version. Hopefully it makes it into other markets
As a Suzuki owner it a pity to see every new model getting further and further away from what made Suzuki that little bit special in the first place. You could forgive the cheap nasty interiors because they were good off road but now that has gone and the interior stays the same. Shame that.

Kia is also trying very hard to look like Jaguar. Hyundai has always stolen designs from Audi and Mercedes. Have you seen the new Lincoln designs?....shamelessly trying to emulate a Maserati. I smell lawsuits in the future.
+cowboysfromhell1990 this is not a Grand Vitara replacement... it is smaller and is marketed as a "city SUV". A new Grand Vitara is supposedly in the works, possibly out next year

People will prefer that more than any hatch out there(eg being i20 elite, baleno, jazz etc. ) Infact the initial buzz about Vitara Brezza in India indicates a blockbuster for Suzuki.

Not sure - can you even buy a Suzuki in the USA? Grand Vitara isn't planned to be replaced any time soon though.

Considering that Suzuki launched this model EARLIER than the Land Rover, I think it's the other way around.
