    APEX Auto Magazine tests the SUZUKI VITARA 1.6 HIGH EXECUTIVE ALLGRIP. Read the review and don't forget to 'Like' us on our Facebook-pages: / apexautomagazine and News-page: / apexautomagazinenieuws
    About the test:
    It seems a long time ago, but back in 2005 the last version of the Suzuki Vitara went on sale and after that it has been quiet for quite some time around the all-terrain vehicle. In that period a lot has changed in the automotive industry. For example the higher demands of the EuroNCAP crash tests. But Suzuki delivers this year on that front with a full rating of 5 stars. So this latest version of the model is a safe car. What we would like to know is how the car delivers in other areas. So we went to find out and took an extensive drive in the petrol version with its 1.6 liter four cilinder engine and 4WD in the top spec edition: High Executive. Enjoy!

    Thank you for such a informative video, but the plus was I can read what you where talking about. I really like this car and I think it would be the best car for my budget at this time. The funny thing is I haven't seen one of these car yet in person or on the road. By the way, I live in Japan!

      smibru Thank you so much. Really appreciate your comment. The Dutch language is quite difficult for most people out there, that's why we also do the reviews with English subtitles. On top of that, many of the cars we test are very popular in other countries and we like to serve those people to, like yourself. Hope you will be able to buy this great car. So you live in Japan, in what city do you live? I ask because you haven't seen the car around yet. Greetings!

      ApexAutomagazine We live in Misawa Japan. A sleepy military town and it is boring! How is the noise levels with the Vitara? And can people over 6 feet talk sit in the back seats comfortably?

    • @ApexAutomagazine
      @ApexAutomagazine  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      smibru That probably explains why you haven't seen the car yet. As with all cars, it might take some time after introduction before you see one in real-life. Noise levels are as follows: (50 km/h: 56,5 dB) (80 km/h: 63,2 db) (100 km/h: 65,4 dB) (130 km/h: 70 dB). The noise level is slightly above average, but keep in mind that this car has a large frontal surface, 4WD-transmission and a non-turbo petrol engine; all factors that increase noise level slightly. And yes people over 6 feet can sit easily in the back. I am myself over 6 feet and as you have seen in the video I can easily sit in the back (4min36 - 4min42).

      ApexAutomagazine I visited the suzuki dealership two days ago and the salespeople stated that suzuki have no plans to sale the vitara in Japan! So, that 's the reason I haven't seen that it! The only way to get it now is as a grey import. lol.

    • @ApexAutomagazine
      @ApexAutomagazine  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That really is too bad. It may have something to do with the fact that the car is made in Hungary and not in Japan. I can't think of another reason why it isn't available for you guys. But if you'd import one, you would really have a unique car ;-)

    Hi! I have the option of buying a 2016 1.6 liter allgrip model and a 2017 1.4 liter turbo allgrip. I dont really care for the extra 20 HP, but the turbo also improves from 115 lb/ft at 4,000 rpm (on the 1.6 liter) to 162 lb/ft at 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. How noticeable is the difference when going up a steep incline or when carrying luggage and people? Thanks!

      It's been 4 months and you've probably moved on since then, but if you have the means, definitely get the turbo. I have a Turbo Opel Astra and it feels like a sports car. The torque on a direct injection engine is huge compared to a normal engine, trust me, it pulls like a train.

    Awesome Video, best details i have seen yet
    thank you for sharing this with us.
    PS the Diesel DDiS has the 6th gear, more torque and gets there quicker too, tyres are summer and great on wet roads, but in Scotland winters they are deadly, so winter tyres make these wee machines unstoppable
    i will subscribe for your nest video .

    I have the vitara sz5 2017 my only gripe is the terrible speakers , they vibrate n distort when any bass is present , I have tried every setting possible and can't get rid of the distortion , unless I set the bass to -2 , worst speakers I've ever had in a car and I'm 60 .

    This car is only slightly heavier than the Suzuki Swift (City Car) which is worrying in what most of the general public will expect to be a proper 4x4 like its predescesor.

    • @ApexAutomagazine
      @ApexAutomagazine  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Joe Mulgrew It depends on what your definition of slightly heavier is, the Vitara weighs 1.135 kilos, the Swift 945 kilos. That is a difference of almost 200 kilos, quite a lot in my opinion. And do 4x4's have to be heavy by definition?

    • @joemulgrew
      @joemulgrew 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason i wrote this is because people who have owned the previous Grand Vitara might have higher expectations of this vehicle . It is certainly higher spec but lacks the off-road ability and towing prowess of its predecessor. To ask if 4x4's have to be heavy is a very vague statement as it depends on what you want it to do.If you want to tow a caravan out of a muddy field then i would definitely want a heavier 4x4 and not what is now a non-descript suv.

    • @ApexAutomagazine
      @ApexAutomagazine  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that the previous Grand Vitara is a different car altogether and is probably more terrain-focused than the new Vitara, nonetheless there is a shift in availability of large, 'heavy' SUV-cars outside of Europe (and the Netherlands) this has to do with increasing emission demands.
