I think this review was made before the 1.4 turbo engine was introduced, which makes his conclusions about the engines flawed. The 1.4 turbo petrol (which you get in the S) makes this a very good car. 0-60 in about 10, 4x4 and still gets you great fuel economy. The only real downside is the quality of the interior and the doors feel a bit cheap
4:14 4x4 is on all the time, so yes you are going to use it... If you mean you arent going to use the 4x4 option buttons, then again I would suggest you are incorrect. Since I can see a lot of people switching it to Sport mode to get better performance and the 1 week a year you get snow in the UK why would you not turn the settings to snow whilst you try to make your way through uncleared side streets? Maybe you meant to say you dont need it, rather than wont use it?
One thing he didn't mention is you can only get standard road tyres for this car, as long as you only want to use it on road thats fine but if you want to add a bit more grip by fitting All Terrains then forget it, shame really Suzuki has been moving away from its roots for years.
I was busy looking for me 3D glasses to start with! Thank goodness that effect was ditched pretty soon. Overall a pretty good review, no waffle and the presenter was quirky without being irritating.
I really like this motor. Personally I'd get the 1.6d in 2wd. In the mid spec. Thr two days of the year I may need 4x4 I'll just stay in, and say a fortune
I've got the 1.6 petrol 2wd and it's excellent, I've got stuck in really bad mud once because I was out in the countryside and I still got out really well.
Excellent review! It reminds me of a RegularCars style, but for my taste - better! Also loved the Cactus review .... fresh approach and nice presentation. Keep doing what you're doing!
Great review...I've just ordered one of these , it's being shipped from UK as I write this..I couldn't get the turquoise and black two tone here in Ireland...im wondering if it's worth the money as there seems to be a big difference in price even when you convert from pounds to euro ...it's costing me €24995 for the 171 model 1.6 petrol...I loved the old one as I've always had jeeps and love the rear mounted tyres ...I know it's a complete rip off of the Range Rover Evoque which I would dearly love to own but as the start price for one of those here is Ireland is 60k that's never gonna happen..hopefully I've made the right decision...really gonna miss the CD player though😔...
I have a grand vitara 2004. Getting so it needs a bit of plastic surgery (welding) underneath but its body has no rust (putting Nissan to shame) and I love this diesel 4x4. Have looked at the new suzuki and other small suv and wish they made the good, sound, sturdy....driving a vehicle with talent rather than gadget....design of my old car. I don't want to give it up. It's been a faithful friend but the government emissions devils want it cast to the scrapyard. I want to drive a good sturdy fun car. The suzuki vitara without all the modern paraphanelia is what I want. I want to DRIVE and not lounge with surround sound etc. I dream on.....
Because the old car is still holding up and there's no necessity to get a new one? :-) The new 4x4 drive seems solid, economical on the road, you can tone down the throttle response (winter mode) and you can still put it on lock. The Allgrip Jimny seems very capable.
+corinful Well that" s nice, I've got a 2008 Grand Vitara turbo Diesel, It's been parked in my garage for 12 months with a blown engine, apparently very common, it has already blown a turbo, bent the lower left rear control arm on sand, oil leaks out of diff and engine, ripped the bottom tank off the radiator, not bad for a vehicle you are praising, I would not trust these off the bitumen,, As I said, Biggest piece of crap I ever had. Only 200,00 on the clock,, If I can save one person from going through the same heartache I've had to endure, then voicing my opinion was well worth the effort,, Thank You,,
Best car in its class in my opinion
Recently purchased the Boosterjet S version for my wife. Such a good car that I am about to trade in my Kia Sportage & purchase one for myself

I have owned 3 Vitara's . I loved them all. One big problem. Are they comming back to the U.S. ???? Tim Roth
I don't know why so many thumbs down. honest John is honest and they give facts, a bit zany at times but why not.
So this is in the class of Seat Arona but it’s almost as big as the seat Ateca???
I thought he was going to review a new skateboard at first haha good review I enjoyed that
Ordered ours for March ! Really excited, not all grip tho! Just the 1.4 petrol s5 👍 looks and drives well, makes a moka of the moka lol.
The Father
So, what's the 0-100 time?

iv not seen anything like this review!Text book definition of original! keep up!
One of the best and amusing reviews I have ever seen.. dislikes are unfair
Why all the hate? This was a truly helpful review.
Where are the ten things i need to know?
when breza with AUto Gear will be launched in India?
Wow, a Vitara that I may actually want to buy!!
what is its cost.... above s cross or below....
Vickyraj Walzade below a bit
I heard in another review that they apparently don't have an auto gearbox option on the diesel version? WTF? so I can't buy one
I have a diesel auto.
Great video! subscribed
What is priced on road
+ssalochana sahajwalla From £13,995 - rather a bargain we think!

Awesome review. Is his accent welsh?
No. North East.
thanks
Excellent review! It reminds me of a RegularCars style, but for my taste - better!
Also loved the Cactus review .... fresh approach and nice presentation. Keep doing what you're doing!
wow, at first glance I thought it was a range rover.
+Guy Incognito yeah, I was thinking Evoque

Hi, are you happy with your Vitara? Im about to buy a new facelift version, but Im still not sure if its worth 20k...

That body color matching inlay is a visual headache... And no armrest? no no no...
I would love Suzuki Vitaras again if they stopped with all the assistance and luxury rubbish and went for affordable offroading vehicle.
up to 2014....mate...that's the new stuff!I will miss it too but...
+Joggymac gotta buy the Jimney then.
Azurel777 A slightly bigger engine would have been nice though.
You can still buy a Jimmy for that. A true utilitarian mountain goat of a car.
verry excellent review an funny as well I like this car
Good fun but informative review. I want one.
if that lad is not on the new top gear it's a travesty. brilliant! great on screen energy and personality. like the car too ☺
I think your daughter is as every bit as imaginative as you are. I think they should produce her replacement Suzuki tailgate adornments......
amazing review mate. informative and fun!
Ian you're a lovely bloke. That's made our weekend.
Disappointing they've ditched the traditional 4x4 drivetrain. :/
Neither of the people who used that feature bought another Suzuki yet.
Because the old car is still holding up and there's no necessity to get a new one? :-)
